Delmonico's Kitchen Ratings and Reviews
The atmosphere was very poor. Waiters started clearing tables away around us while we were still eating, clearing the room for another event and the manager didn't know how to use the Open Table voucher.
We were seated next to the waiters station that was noisy and had a waiter standing at the whole time when there were empty tables available elsewhere in the room. Was disappointed.
We were seated unfortunately at a table next to a main walkway between the bar and dining room, so there were many times that we had people standing near our table - so not very relaxing a location, and the dining room noise was deafening at times. My friend's Filet was excellent, however my Delmonico steak had a lot of tough fat in it (not what I would expect with that cut - the marbling/fat should be edible). Asparagus and spinach sides were not appealing - looked like they came out of a "rushed" kitchen, which it was....service was slow, including waiting 15 minutes for our drinks.....would not go back.
Wanted a great meal before a show at MSG and Delmonico's Kitchen delivered. The restaurant is within easy walking distance of MSG and it worked out perfectly. Went with a couple of signature Delmonico steaks and some sides and it was all delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive. It was a little pricey, but what do you expect when you want a great steak in NYC? We would definitely go back again for a special occasion.
Delmonico's Kitchen was recommended by a friend and I had never been there. I took my 2 sales reps after working together during the day. Walking in, I immediately loved the ambience . Our waiter was amazing, attentive to everything we wanted as well as proactive in filling our wine, water, etc... My 2 reps had the Delmonico's special steak...One of them said it was the best steak he has ever eaten! I had the lamb chops which were absolutely delicious. All portions are very generous. The only little thing was my lobster bisque could have been hotter but I just ate it as it tasted delicious. We will definitely recommend this wonderful place to our friends and will be back.
The food was excellent and they even had a price fix for lunch...service was very good..did not rush us..we did go late lunch/early dinner so there was no crowd...we were suppose to get dessert with our meal but they never brought it so we had to ask...
The only big real negative I had was that a glass of wine was 17 dollars...I know its nyc , but thats rediculous for the average person...a bottle of wine was minimum 60 or more..they should have a bottle or two that is more resonable...
We used our groupon coupon and were very pleased. I had the boneless ribeye, medium rare, and my friend had the 8 oz filet mignon, medium. Both were cooked to perfection. To start, I had the scallops(2) with risotto which were excellent and my friend had a salad with blue cheese, bacon and tomatoes. For a side dish, we had cheesy potatoes. We will return again even without the groupon.
My fiancé and I came here with a Groupon, but they still serve us with their top notch services. I really like how attentive they were. The food is absolutely delicious. We ordered their Delmonico Steak and their NY strip, melts in your mouth. Definitely will go again.
Old school steak house with amazing food and impeccable service. Lump crabmeat cocktail was fresh and delicious . The veal chop was cooked to
perfection and was very tender. My husband devoured the swordfish special.
Our server Eloy was knowledgeable, very helpful with his ordering suggestions and truly charming, which all contributed to our amazing dining experience. We look forward to returning soon.
Stopped in for my Wife's birthday dinner before attending a concert at MSG. Very convenient location to MSG and the service was great. We both enjoyed the food and Tapas style side dishes. Food was good. Wine list was good. My Old Fashioned cocktail was the only "disappointment". I'd recommend this place to a friend, especially one looking for a nice dinner before an event at MSG.
What a great find. A few of us flew to New York for a concert & needed a restaurant by Madison Sq Garden. This place had a great octopus app, clam dish & salad. Bacon app was good but too fatty. We loved our filets & delicious lobsters. Bingnets, choc cake & berries were great desserts. We enjoyed the red wine by the glass too. Service was absolutely wonderful.
Service was poor for us. Waiter was inattentive in the wrong ways in a mostly empty restaurant. Filet mignon ordered medium rare had a good sear but there was a big portion that ended up medium-well. Got the Benedict burger too - egg was overcooked though I thought the truffled Hollandaise sauce was just the right amount of truffle for me. Summing it up, we've had better steakhouse meals and won't be returning to Delmonico's kitchen.
We were here for restaurant week because we've had a wonderful experience here a couple years ago. The meal was good, but the quality and flavor of the dishes were not as great as they used to be. Our host was very friendly, but our waiter didn't seem very happy when we decided that we were not going to order any alcohol (he even asked a few times, and made a quiet comment under his breath when we said for the 3rd time we weren't ordering any wine).
Otherwise, the ambiance is nice, and is a great place to have a nice meal before a show on broadway.
Drove from NJ on the recommendation of a friend. Presentation is everything in my books, food on a plate should look appetizing with beautiful garnish. Looked as if they slapped sauce on top and flung it on the plate. Over done broccoli rabe. I've had better steak from no-name restaurants. Not a good cut of meat either. Not sure if I'd go back. Like the area where it's located.
I went to Delmonico's for my anniversary which I listed in the reservation. We got a nice table by the window and had very prompt good service. The reason I only rated it as a 3 was because We ordered from the restaurant week menu. My husband and I both got the filet and I have to say it was nothing to write home about. The steak tasted like it was a very low cut of meat you could find at any grocery store for a cheap price. The portions were very small for the appetizers, the meal, and the dessert. Overall I was disappointed with the quality and quantity of food.
We arrived early and were seated promptly. Since the place was empty we received almost a lot of attention. The waiters were almost too intrusive. Our primary waiter bordered on rude. The food was fine. I don't recommend the clams appetizer- they were flavorless- but the chicken, salad, filet, French Fries were fine. We were a bit disappointed in the baked Alaska. It wasn't bad but it wasn't a show stopper. We expected more since this place allegedly invented it. Although we obviously wanted to leave, our waiter took his time getting the check.
