Della Fattoria is the kind of place that can quickly
become an obsession. The family-owned Bakery and
Café is a favorite local hangout for its world-class menu
sourced from the freshest produce of local farmers,
ranchers, dairies, coffee roasters and wineries. Everything on the menu is delicious, sophisticated but causual. Service
is warm, professional and personal. Housed in an historic downtown building, the newly remodeled Café space is furnished with handmade tables and benches, antique chandeliers and overstuffed chairs and couches making it even harder to leave.
This was my first time and I will definitely be back! Had great service and the food was very fresh and tasty.
Della Fattoria is among the best dining experiences in the North Bay. My dinner last Thursday night was superb in every way. The seasonal halibut was seared perfectly. I sampled three wines, a Bandol Rose, a delicious Chablis and a beautiful Gamay from Italy.
The service staff at Della is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive.
Della has the best lunch in Sonoma Valley and the in-house bakery is amazing.
This used to be one of my favorite places for breakfast and now it is one of my favorite places for dinner! We ordered the melon salad and it was refreshing and savory but looked so pretty I almost felt bad eating it. The other starter we had was the fritter and I can only say: Yum! I ordered the Fish of the day and it was grilled beautifully but I really loved the sides; seasonal and fresh. Then finally, we had dessert, which you must get because bread and pastry are their jam. We ordered an apple struddle that was so delicious, I had to peek in the kitchen to see if there was a little German Grandma hovering over the stove, turning out tasty treats. Want to give a shout out to the wait staff too as they were super sweet and gracious. They made us feel right at home. Thanks Guys for making us feel so special.
Great meal as always!
Gorgeous space. Fabulous food. Kind attentive staff. I love it here.
Every person in our party of seven loved the food. A real celebratory atmosphere, good service, and our large group was able to enjoy our conversation.
it took 3 and a half hours for dinner. Food was good and the waitstaff was excellent. the food took too long.
The restaurant accepted my reservation request and when we showed up, it was closed and appeared under construction!
Meh... you could do better.
Average food. Inexperienced wait staff. Eclectic ambiance. Head over to Central Market instead.
Made my reservation on Open Table. A busy Saturday night in Petaluma. Parked far and walked. Showed up and the place was closed because it looks like it’s under construction. Called and got no one. They shouldn’t be taking reservations during a remodel. Needless to say I won’t be returning because showing up to a closed restaurant on a date doesn’t go over well.
Lovely place on all levels: food, ambiance, service, sound... after many times for lunch...and dinner was even better!
Terrific family coordination: owners, designer, chef and lots of friends!
Best restaurant in Petaluma. Unpretentious California-style locally grown & seasonally-inspired dishes. Absolutely delicious and very earthy and approachable. I highly recommend. Don’t miss the bread.
Miles was able to add one more person to our reservation, even though the restaurant was hosting
a big group. He acquired birthday cupcakes from the bakery and went out of his way to be sure
we had the perfect celebration. We had to wait a bit due to the big party, and the chef sent
over a tart! Our server was the consumate professional and so very personable! We were there
for 3 hours and I must admit the wood bench seating was not the greatest :) But overall, the
experience could not have been better. Everyone loved thier food (especially the filet and the
fresh fish). Did I mention they serve their bakery bread and butter? Loved it!
Very nice restaurant, but a bit overpriced for Petaluma. Menu is a bit lacking in options, but the food was good.
Love the new restaurant, their decor is stunning and we had an excellent meal. Go early and you can get a window seat. We were there at 5:50 when they opened and it was not crowded yet at all.
Overall, a very lovely experience and we will return.
The food is as sumptuous, fun and out of the box as the decor.
The food is great. I've had breakfast, brunch & lunch several times before. This was the first time I ate dinner there. The food was as good as I expected. The waiter was good but it took forever to get our food and it wasn't even that busy. Apparently they gave my husband's order to some other table by mistake so they had to make another entree which was making my husband irritable. It was at least an hour after we sat down that we finally got served. They did comp us some wine for the inconvenience though. I also thought it was unusually bright in there for a 7:30 pm seating. When I complained quietly to my husband someone must have heard because then they turned the lights down bit. I would go again but I don't think my husband will.
Della’s never disappoints! Best restaurant in Sonoma County. Ultra fine dining with a beautiful but casual ambience. Outstanding!
This is one of my favorite restaurants for brunch, but my first time eating there for dinner. The decor is even prettier at night! Our dinner was fantastic. We were seated right away at a shared long table with plenty of room on either side. The wine list was reasonable and the food was delicious. I had a vegetarian meal that was very satisfying. One of our group ordered the catch of the day. She told us the next day that she just wanted to go back and eat it again it was so good! We were dining with someone who must eat gluten free and there were several choices. it would be nice if they served a gluten free bread, because at Della it's all about the bread!! The service were good, not super fast, but we were not in a hurry, so it didn't matter. The owner came over and chatted with us. She was gracious and welcoming. I will put Della in the rotation!
I loved absolutely everything but the hardwood benches with no backs were uncomfortable
Nicest room in Sonoma county with great real food. ❤️
Our server was wonderful. The sea bass special of the evening was outstanding. The ambiance , service and food were over-the-top.
Best restaurant in Petaluma. Wonderful ambiance and well-executed seasonal menu.
Incredible dinner from beginning to end! Beautiful relaxed decor, amazing knowledgeable kind sweet waitress, decadent food, terrific wine list, huge delicious latte & lovely desserts!
I was disappointed having eaten there at lunch and breakfast in the old location. My husband's chicken was overseasoned and my tagliatelle with clams came out lukewarm and had to be sent back.Big disappointment was no non-alcoholic beer.I just feel like the dinners aren't up to the standard set in the past.Hope you are able to eventually serve food on the patio.Service was good.
Christina, Miles and staff are fantastic and so welcoming. It’s like going to your families restaurant. The chef and crew make incredible meals that everyone finishes b/c they’re so damn good. The bread.... oh, the bread! Go, and you’ll be hooked like we are. Thank you and Enjoy.
This is our favorite restaurant. Such a delightful atmosphere to enjoy delicious innovative food whether it’s Sunday brunch, date night, or dinner with friends. Stylish. Great service. And so delicious.
Della Fattoria never disappoints. The ambience, service, and food are delicious. The appetizers are to die for every time. My son and I both thought the Beef Bourguignon was out of this world - tender, succulent - and the addition of their Meyer-rosemary bread to the stew was an inspiration. That particular bread is the best thing since, well, bread. We partook of the French onion tart, focaccia, and the vegetable crostini before dinner. My double layer chocolate cake wasn't quite as delicious as everything else we ate, but this is still my culinary home. I love Della Fattoria, and I do think they could improve upon their desserts.
Both Kelly & Miles made us feel extremely comfortable with a toddler moving around the restaurant. The high ceilings made the space much quieter than expected and the best part was the food. It was great. I recommend the Beef Wellington.
Della Fattoria, while having been long established as one of the outstanding bakeries in the Bay Area, is serving some of the best food in the North Bay. The food is creative, fresh, using high quality ingredients, yet it is simple and rustic. The menu changes with the seasons and availability of fresh produce and the chef uses techniques not usually found in local dining establishments. The chef's treatment of beouf bourguignon, for example, was unique wherein the beef was long simmered in a rich mixture of stock/wine, but the additions of asparagus, mushrooms, potatoes, and onions were cooked separately, maintaining their freshness and identity. The crispy croutons bordered the plate, allowing for some delicious dunking. All the other dishes were similarly well crafted and flavorful. Service was attentive and professional. Wine list nicely priced and interesting. Well worth the visit.
P.S. To avoid ratings grade creep, hardly ever give five stars, but, in this case, would if we could.
Very slow service. 2.5 hrs for a party of 4 (over an hour wait from time of ordering until meals arrived at table).
Food was good but the service was very slow..
Excellent food and service. Will definitely be going back. Beautiful atmosphere, interesting dishes, quiet room. New favorite in Petaluma.
Excellent meal and service. Had a Rock Cod dish that was beautifully prepared with a multitude of ingredients and flavors. Good value wines was a generous pour.
The atmosphere is quite nice. The waiter appeared to be in the wrong business. Food was average. My guests had the beef dish which they liked. The cod was very salty and dry. Not much flavor. This was my second experience at Della Fattoria and my first visit was better. I will probably not be back.
We just love going to Della for dinner. Any meal of the day really, but we love how charming it is at night. We get there about a half hour before our reservation and sit in their little couch area. We have a glass of wine or one of their delicious aperitifs. We feel cozy there. They have a little music playing and the staff is sooo incredibly nice, professional and warm. Then on to dinner- always fantastic, great fresh food with creative recipes. The nicest servers in town, I swear.
Lovely evening to spend celebrating our wedding anniversary! Food was marvelous, conversation with Kathleen delightful and special thanks to the evening manager who rushed out to Putnam Plaza to bring my forgotten boxed leftover dinner after we left.
We enjoyed the hipster vibe at Della Fattoria and the food was delicious. I highly recommend the beef bourguignon. We paired it with a French Bordeaux (the wine list is fun and diverse) that went perfectly. The only strange part of the evening is that there was a Prix fixe but it was only available if everyone at the table ordered it! The dish I ended up ordering was on it but I had to order it separately as a regular entrée because not everyone wanted to go that route.
I looove this restaurant so much. Their food is so fresh and creative. The only complaint is that the last time we went they didn’t have their braised shot rib on the menu anymore. I know their menu is small but I wish they would leave that on. Now my husband won’t go again until it’s back. Shoot. :(
Anyway, still a fabulous restaurant!!
Team Della has created a wonderful dining experience in downtown Petaluma, beautiful, thoughtful, delicious food, perfect size portions and a fantastic wine menu with just the right balance of local and European wines. Service is warm and professional, overall great value and ambience.
