Della Fattoria is the kind of place that can quickly
become an obsession. The family-owned Bakery and
Café is a favorite local hangout for its world-class menu
sourced from the freshest produce of local farmers,
ranchers, dairies, coffee roasters and wineries. Everything on the menu is delicious, sophisticated but causual. Service
is warm, professional and personal. Housed in an historic downtown building, the newly remodeled Café space is furnished with handmade tables and benches, antique chandeliers and overstuffed chairs and couches making it even harder to leave.
Absolutely loved our meal and would highly recommend dinner at Della Fattoria. Great service!
Our second time to have dinner with DF. First time the service was on the slow side.
This time Seated right away but we waited too long to give drink and dinner order. Ordered the focaccia bread appetizer and had to remind our waitress 15 min later. She then only brought us a couple pieces of bread in a napkin served only 2 min before our entrees were served. Then dessert took forever. Might try you in a year or two if still in business.
As always, at Della, the plates are incredibly well thought out and wonderful to take in. Ourr server, Nicole was super attentive, insightful, and an absolute delight... overall, our experience could not have been improved upon. Very highly recommended.
I love Della Fattoria. I am a local and dine there often. I have only had dinner there 3 times. I ordered the pork loin and, unfortunately, it was not cooked. Our server was very accommodating and I promptly got something else in is place. All in all...a wonderful and fantastical place to dine!!! Opulent abundance!!!
Our last visit was on Valentines Day. They had a Prix Fixe menu. The entire experience was great, from the first course to the last. All perfectly prepared, and just the right service.
We have been there for dinner a few times, and Mothers Day. Always great food, perfectly portioned, and delicious.
My evening was nice, serving sizes were small, decor doesn’t match and is basically a bunch of sticks hanging from the wall, it’s small menu and everything is called something fancier then what it actually is. Service was great and food was out quickly and hot!
One of my favorite places for breakfast and lunch but was incredibly disappointed by their dinner menu and final dish, ate one bite of their prawn ravioli. Service is always impeccable and they did not charge for my plate, but I was bummed to have been the one who recommended the restaurant in the first place.
Eclectic interior with some 4 tops and 2 tops. A few large community type tables. High tops and low tops.
If you find yourself on a wooden bench ask for a seat cushion. Food is great!!
Eclectic decor, exceptional food, considerate and knowledgeable service. The expanded dining room is a gift to Petaluma. Thank you
Della is our favorite restaurant and we eat there frequently. The food is outstanding, there are interesting twists on classic dishes. The new menu has a pizza on it, since their bakery is perfect this is a nice addition. Our friends were equally happy with their short ribs and stuffed pork loin. Kathleen Weber, the owner, is always there making the guests seem like they are part of the family.
Excellent food in a beautiful setting. Our waitress went out of her way to ensure we made our theater time.
Our meals were so delicious, the service was very pleasant, the ambiance was great, and we were having a great evening, even before the owner stopped by the table to chat. That was the icing on the cake!
The place is beautiful. The staff were great. The food was mediocre, especially for the price. The portions for the main dishes were tiny. On one the food was seriously undercooked and the other Prawn dish came with only one prawn! Lovely place in so many ways, but they need to step up the game on the food with dinners.
Another amazing dinner at Della’s with friends. Never fails to impress. We are so fortunate to have Della Fattoria here in Petaluma. ❤️
It was a great dining experience overall. The staff was so friendly, the food delicious and I love the ambiance. Do yourself a favor and try all of their bread from the bakery next door. It is delicious, especially the rosemary meyer lemon bread. Out of this world!
Such a good dinner. Everything was cooked perfectly and our server was so nice and friendly, as well as knowledgeable about the food. Definitely going back for dinner.
The owner stopped by the table to say “hi” and chatted with us on our way out.
Our server, Kelly, was great. Turns out we had been server/client together in a past restaurant.
All three of us enjoyed our meal
* the roasted beet salad is awesome, and just the right amount for ONE person (what a concept. More restaurants should do this)
* heard from our friend that the short ribs were yummy
* my wife loved the shrimp dish that had pasta stuffed with pecorino. Rating “very good”
* I enjoyed the Nudja pizza. That was “just right” size-wise, nice thin crust, and light hand with the topping
* we each enjoyed our by the glass wine, 1 cabernet, 1 Alborino, 1 Russian River Valley kick*ss pinot noir
We passed on dessert and left satiated and happy.
Very nice place, excellent food, good service. We will go agains.
I have been there many times for lunch and bread loafs next door and wanted to try their dinner .
The quality of the food served is fantastic. The ingredients are seasonal and simply prepared but beautifully presented. The food quality is consistent.
Attentive service in a great decor and atmosphere.
Very good burrata and beets salad
I highly recommend their Chicken pot pie and Petrale sole.
The desserts are simple but well executed , we had the pana cotta and it was delicious
Will return for sure.
Thank you to the culinary and for team for doing such a fantastic work .
All four of us had a delicious meal. The ravioli was tasty ad interesting in shape and texture. Buy pork loin was the best ever. Beet salad was to die for, and dessert! Yum!
This is now our favorite Petaluma restaurant.
Our food was small and not appetizing to look at in the least. We both ordered the fish and it was a white blob on the plate with veggies in a frothy sauce and it took up only half the plate with the other half bare. My date said it tasted like baby food.
The food was slow coming out, but overall it was a great experience.
Highly recommended for superb food, outstanding service, and beautifully decorated.
I don’t usually write reviews but felt the need to share given my recent dining experience. Arrived at restaurant on Saturday evening at booked time. Upon arrival, there was no host present. After a few minutes, made eye contact with the host who then quickly looked away and continued what she was doing. After finally being seated, ordered cocktails, appetizers and dinner. The drinks came out quickly as did the appetizers. The service from this point became almost non-existent, as waited about 15 minutes for the opportunity to order another drink and have the dishes cleared before our entree. Almost immediately thereafter, our entrees were delivered to the table and appeared as having been sitting under a heat lamp for some time. Ok, on to the food. I don’t think I’ve ever had this experience where what I ordered visually looked nothing like the menu description and I thought they brought out the wrong dish. Still, I thought it would taste good, given the number of positive reviews. Sadly, this was not the case. Both of our entrees were flavorless and we were underwhelmed. Also, as a whole, the dinner menu is quite inaccessible, with too many ingredients in an attempt to look sophisticated, yet many of them didn’t go together. Also, there were many hot and cold ingredients being combined, which made no sense. Took a while to find our waitress to get the bill and pay; we couldn’t get out fast enough. Learned shortly thereafter that the positive reviews are all for the bakery and lunch cafe, not dinner. I’d suggest to both the restaurant and future attendees to stick with these concepts and not succumb to dinner service.
I was SO pleasantly surprised when my husband, my mother, and I had dinner at Della Fattoria right after the new year. I'd been there for both brunch and lunch and loved the delicious, thoughtfully made good. When I heard that they were beginning to offer dinner on certain nights, I thought it was worth trying, but didn't know if they would be able to step it up quite that much. I was delighted with my delicious dinner as were my husband and my mother. We discovered a Rhone style (cote roti) wine that's made in Petaluma! Who would have thought?! We decided to try it, and it was so good that we looked up the winery and made reservations the next day to go for a tasting (Keller Estates - don't miss this gem!). Della Fattoria has fresh, local food made expertly and thoughtfully. Central Market has competition in Petaluma! Try it for dinner. I doubt it will disappoint!
Ambiance - Wonderful
Our greeter Elethia was typical when we enter but stopped by during the meal and checked in at the end with advice on the dessert. Totally over the top unless you’re the front of house owner.
Our server Miles was off-the-charts good. Good with the wine. Great in helping us choose the food and the dessert. And did the unusual thanked us with a double hand shake as we left.
My bride had the Chablis Sauvignon Blanc. I had the Russian River Pinot light and balanced and flavorful.
The top of the list was the beet salad with ruby-veined sorrel leaves and burrata and pocoutto and radish and golden and red beets. OMG good! The mains were polenta with veg (Roasted cauliflower and Brussels sprouts) and Hindi with broccoli. Mmmm and afogado for dessert
5 stars for each one but the people topped my list. Not for service but for friendliness and authenticity and lnowledge.
Our first visit. Of many in the future.!
Dinner menu was terrific - 4 of us and we had 3 of the entrees- 2 people both wanted the short ribs- all of which were delicious. We had a great time there.
Our anniversary dinner. Food was perfect, ambiance is great in spite of the large, open space. Service was spot on.
Fabulous food and wonderful service in a gorgeous dining room.
Love it for lunch and now I love it for dinner! Great ambience, wonderful food and terrific service!
I’ve been a fan of the bakery for many years, and of the old tiny crowded cafe. This is on another level. The food is absolutely delicious, and my group of vegetarians had enough options (though more would be welcome). Service was friendly but quite slow, and our server didn’t know much about either the dishes we were interested in, or about the wines. Nice to have a high-quality restaurant where you can actually converse in a normal tone of voice. Decor is fun, and it’s very spacious and not crowded feeling, even when it’s full.
The service, waitress, was first class. She was energetic and enthusiastic. We loved her but the real show was the food which is exceptional for any location. We were all thrilled.
And we were seated at a communal table and it was great. They gave us an end as there were three and it was welcoming and Boone was seated near us. The interiors were dressed up for Christmas and woo it is festive and quirky in a warm and special way.
But again go for the food. We were glad we did.
We went as a birthday celebration and the night was glorious. Delicious wine. And all of us ordered different dishes and we were all delighted.
I’ve gone to Della many times for breakfast or lunch and it is good. Dinner was very disappointing. We were seated at the big family table and could not even have a conversation due to the awkward seating and our loud table mates. It took over an hour to get our food, which was only warm. We were cranky by then. The food portions were small and my friend’s short ribs were very gristley.
Beautifully decorated and the farm to table food was excellent.
As always, dinner was excellent with terrific choices. Staff typically rates five stars, but this time it appeared to be too many “cooks spoiling the broth “, better, of course than not enough. To be fair, they were totally slammed while we were there, and each staff member was trying to back others up. A nice problem.
Have been loving their bread for years, and finally tried the restaurant/cafe, since it is now open for dinner. Wow! Couldn't have been a better experience. Service was exceptional (thank you, Miles!), and the food was terrific. And the very nice wine list is more than fairly priced.
Everyone in our party of 6 was happy with their meal. Service by Kelly is always stellar. Holiday Decor is fantastic.
It's a great looking place and the wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food, however, was odd. Our salad was collection of shaved radishes, potato chips and some other stuff on pureed squash. My wife's scallop dish had two scallops on it and the wine list was okay but a pricey.
We were expecting a farm to table wholesome experience with good but not fancy food but we felt gouged.
Super local restaurant/bakery. Use of local produce, meats, etc; well crafted entrees that satisfy
desire for quality presentation
