Della Fattoria is the kind of place that can quickly
become an obsession. The family-owned Bakery and
Café is a favorite local hangout for its world-class menu
sourced from the freshest produce of local farmers,
ranchers, dairies, coffee roasters and wineries. Everything on the menu is delicious, sophisticated but causual. Service
is warm, professional and personal. Housed in an historic downtown building, the newly remodeled Café space is furnished with handmade tables and benches, antique chandeliers and overstuffed chairs and couches making it even harder to leave.

So delicious and excellent service! And gorgeous decor. Truly a delight.
The food was great but the tables up against the wall look at a blank white wall. The place is huge and you think they could have come up with a better use of the space.
Wonderful surprise -- thoughtful ambience, tasteful decor, fresh & expertly crafted
menu -- civilized! We were able to converse, never felt rushed by the waiting staff.
Outstanding food with great ambiance. The team is well coordinated and many people pitch in to make your dining experience exceptional. Greatly exceeded or expectations and we will be visiting again!
Still getting their sea legs. Ran out of several entrees on a Saturday night.
This review app wants to know, specifically, what I'd recommend about this restaurant. They didn't have a category to match my feelings. I'd say this restaurant doesn't serve food, per se. They offer heartfelt creations, soulfully executed by cooks that really care, and served by people who want to make your experience as good as it could possibly be.
Eating there made me feel proud - that there is still a group of people dedicated to excellence - in my home town.
My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner: flavorful ling cod, prosecco, and perfect sorbet. Our waiter, Miles, was helpful in choosing the dessert, which was the perfect finishing taste. The owner stopped by our table and was welcoming and delightful.
Very good but small portions--left restaurant still hungry
A wonderful dining experience, good food, fair pricing, excellent service!
I really wanted to like Della Fattoria, unfortunately my expectations fell short. Based on the name, I thought it was a an restaurant. Upon arrival I realized the cuisine is more along the lines of farm to table, with a small aka limited menu. I do love the decor!
One of my favorite restaurants to go to. First time for dinner. Very reasonable.
The food was OK. But I faced a huge blank wall as did all the tables for two. The room is exceptional..IF you can see it. Simple mirrors so you could see reflection would do wonders. For the investment they have alreday put into this room, the reflections would be simple.
The bread was the original drive of this place and finally they have opened a larger dining venue next to the bakery. They run a farm where the bread is baked and I have to say this bread and the bread at MH Bread and Butter are the best in California. The food is great and the burger is fabulous.
Food - excellent! service slow, relatives were anxious tracking down service, leftovers boxed but never given to us, busser said it would come out with check so we asked for check. Never saw leftovers and couldn’t get server again to ask for them so we left. Uncle thought burger was over cooked...rest of food was amazing. I’m excited to go back. Relatives won’t return.
beautiful room with great high ceilings and decor, very expert, attentive service, and wonderous food. One of the best meals in recent times...tomato w burrata, ling cod, spare ribs raviolo, and creamy polenta w summer vegetables. all perfectly prepared; we drove an hour each way to get to the meal, and was totally worth it.
We were pleasantly surprised. This restaurant is large, but the ambiance was warm and inviting. The decor was interesting. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and made sure we understood how everything was prepared and she gave us just enough attention. The food was beautiful, perfectly prepared and delicious. From the watermelon salad to our unconventionally prepared housemade ravioli and crispy chicken to our devine desserts. We will definitely be going back again!
Great food, nicely cooked and presented in a white table cloth polished setting. However the menu is limited - 7 entrees, a few starters and salads. The decor is over the top - an odd mix of victorian furniture and industrial chic. I think the designer managed to pull it off and if nothing else it is definitely a topic of conversation. Also seems odd that the restaurant uses Open Table for reservations but prevents OT from awarding points.
Delicious, unique, locally sourced food.
We had reservations for 6:45. The wait for each course was endless. Nothing was given up front to keep us occupied while waiting. Food way overpriced. Table tipped precariously when leaned on and its size was way too long and wide. Not a comfortable size to encourage closeness and conversation. Although a couple of the dishes were very good, the steep prices were not justified. The bill suggested tips of 18, 20 and 25 percent. A joke. To Insure Promptness. Will not go back. Sorry I paid any tip at all. Feel taken. Very disappointed.
The food was absolutely amazing. Every single dish we got, from appetizers to main courses to dessert, were to die for! The ambiance is stunning. I can't wait to return.
Petaluma is so lucky to have Della open for dinner again at long last! And in a larger space, even better! This place will be a hit.
Food and service was excellent. Deserts were delicious and perfect to cap off our dining experience. We'll definitely be back.
Food and service were impeccable. I would highly recommend. Ling Cod was delicious as were the mussels. Desserts are wonderful. I've never had such a rich sorbet. Lemon cake, peach tart, fantastic. (Some seating is on a wood slab--maybe they should have optional cushions.) Service is gracious, attentive. Each course is served to all guests at the table at the same time by a team of staff--elegant and really lovely. Very nice not having to wait while somebody at your table hasn't received their food yet. Highest marks
Bakery and brunch always excellent, review is for dinner service. Our first visit to new space for dinner, a great dining experience but food was a little disappointing, 2 appetizers, 2 deserts and 4 entree's in our group, one app and one entree we'd order again, both deserts were great. Nice room, layout and great service.
Della is noisy. The food is great and the service/staff just wonderful. The setting is fun and eclectic. The seats were hard and some of the tables have benches with no back supports.
During my yearly visit to my family in Petaluma all the way from the east coast, I wanted to treat them to dinner. I did some research on Trip Advisor and came across this restaurant. After reading the reviews and looking at the photos, I decided on Della Fattoria. This restaurant is a must! They took reservations, the atmosphere was amazing, service impeccable, the food presentation stunning and the preparation irresistible - it checked off all of my boxes. Go have a meal at this restaurant, you will not be disappointed.
Really great food. Service was a bit slow, but we were not in any hurry and they comp our desert because of slower than usual kitchen service.
We tried DF two times in one week. The first was for Sunday Brunch. Outstanding! The ambiance in here is warehouse chic with all kinds of mismatched chandeliers and quirky decorations that come together beautifully and totally cool. The high ceilings allow for conversations in close quarters without a huge din in the background. Oh yeah, the food. Portioned perfectly and presented elegantly. I rarely order a burger but the DF burger is absolutely delicious. The Tuna Melt could be the best ever. And let's not forget the service: Attentive, polite, professional and on point. What a super brunch, but be prepared to wait in line for a while as the secret is out.
Back a few days later for Saturday night dinner. Evening ambiance is enhanced by expertly subtle lighting. Burrata is terrific and the squash fritter is amazing as starters. I had the Raviolo with short rib reduction--2 big ravioli that covered the entire plate. Delicate pasta and scrumptious beef filling. The pace is very relaxed--we were there over 3 hours and were never made to feel it was too long by the outstanding service team. What a great dinner experience.
The Weber's have truly made this a family operation with son Aaron in kitchen and daughter Eilsa handling all the decor and floral. Owner Kathleen greeted us and made us feel completely welcome and appreciated.
We will be back frequently even though we have plenty of dining options to choose from over the hill in Sonoma.
Full disclosure: Our son Frank has been with DF since the Cafe opened. That doesn't change a thing about how great DF is. THE new gem in Petaluma
Perhaps dinner is still being worked out but there were flaws in each of our 4 meals—-soupy polenta, a tender hamburger bun than crumbled apart at half-eaten, an amazingly flavorful cherry tomato tart with a tough crust and not enough custard so that cutting off a portion was almost impossible and then the tomato’s went rolling across the plate. Hope this is just the natural process...
Good for a soft opening. Decor was quite inventive. Waiter was sweet. Busboy not so much
We love the new dinning room but for our Saturday dinner.
Our salad and main course were a little over mediocre and dessert was outstanding.
Service was poor and noticed way bellow the level they try to be at. We also noticed "attitude" like hostess ignoring us when we came in, as she chatted with co-worker (Kathleen didn't see that).
A wonderful spot for breakfast, brunch, lunch...and now dinner—3 nights a week!
Great meal! Would definitely recommend and return.
This is my favorite restaurant in town. It is amazing!! Ambiance is off the hook gorgeous. Food and service is perfection.
An incredible dinner. The taste of the food from side dishes to dessert were outstandingbut. But the portion size of the main entree was a little small.
Even so, I would definitely go back for a special occasion.
The duck confit and polenta with havarti were fabulous and so were the desserts! The service and ambiance were both very good. I will certainly recommend Della Fattoria to anyone I know who is going to Petaluma.
Gorgeous setting, incredible food! Would love to eat there every day.
The amount of food relative to the price could be better.
Everyone seemed a bit nervous.
Lovely to meet Kathleen after all of these years of thoroughly enjoying her bread baking.
Our waitress, Sarah was gracious, inciteful, and knowledgeable. The appetizers and salads were delightful, delicious and wonderfully presented. The entree - beef ribs lacked flavor and heartiness, hardly any meat. Desserts were boring but loved the ambiance. We will, however go back................ it's just a beginning.
Loved the food, the ambiance and the general feel. The service was OK-to-good, but it took forever for the food to come out... that said, our main courses were very late so they waived our corkage fee which was very nice of them to do. Overall, a great experience. We'll come back and try it again to see if the service is better.
