We had a very last minute additional guest and the staff immediately replied to my OpenTable message to accommodate our larger party. A+++ for that. Also A+++ for friendly service, nicely paced food, wonderful food and bevs. We had a great time. Thank you!

we were looking to our return to your restaurant after a long hiatus. the food we found delicious, but were disappointed with the service. our server was absence and barely engaging. our server was missing when we wanted a second cocktail and wine service. but an a astute staff member took care of our needs.

I love the remodeled interior, the food was excellent as always. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Warmly greeted at entree and the wait staff excellent. I look forward to returning for another dinner soon.

Went with a friend on a drizzly Friday evening. The restaurant vibe feels like a party you feel lucky to be invited to. The service is friendly and professional. The food was delicious and delightful as always. It was fun to watch the kitchen action and pizzeria making activities. This is one of my favorites in San Francisco.

Delfina is probably our favorite restaurant because of the impeccable balance between the warmth of the staff and the brilliance of the food. We love it there, and overindulged, but had the very best time.

Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere! I have enjoyed Delfina for over ten years and am happy to report that it has not declined in quality at all. It was a wonderful treat for my friend and myself on a night out.

Perfectly cooked rare side of medium rare 2lb Bistecca alla Fiorentina prime steak for 2. Amazing bottles of Barolo and Nebbiolo recommended by the Sommelier. It was Delfina’s 25th anniversary and they donated a portion of that evenings proceeds to a charity that’s working to end SF homelessness, Hamilton Families.

Extremely noisy RESTURANT. The server paid attention to the next door table since one of the guest was his friend and ignored our table. We had to ask for water twice and sharing appetizers was never served with serving spoons. We had to ask twice.

As always, the food was outstanding--inventive, creative, unbelievably delicious filled pasta and eggplant dishes, and of course the best-anywhere focaccia and panna cotta. I always want to eat outside, but it was noisy (mostly from other diners including a screaming baby), and the waitperson was trying hard but she seemed to forget about me for long periods and she was not as knowledgable as would be desirable for food that good (perhaps she was just inexperienced and overwhelmed?)

I haven't been to Delfina since the reopening. I loved the old restaurant and I think this new version is even better. Most of the entrees are for 2 so make sure you go with someone you can share with.

The revised Delfina has lost it's special restaurant quality. It feels more like a loud bar with tables. Our appetizers and dessert were very good and worth the money. However, we splurged on a shared steak special to celebrate a special occasion and were very disappointed in the product we received for the exorbitant price they charged. If you want a loud and lively place to have a drink, and have some apps and pasta then it's still a visit.

We celebrated my daughter’s 25th birthday at Delfina. From the time I made the reservation to the time we left, the staff was friendly and helpful. We did have to wait about 15 minutes before our table was ready and it’s a small space so there wasn’t anywhere to hang out which was unfortunate, but it didn’t mar our evening. We were a larger group and ordered many different dishes. Our server was patient and did a great job of staggering our dishes. The tortellini stuffed with squash and sage with brown butter was excellent. Also the rage was popular. We had two vegans in the group and they thoroughly enjoyed the butternut squash and the butter beans. Calamari was grilled to perfection served on a bed of small white.beans. We brought our own wine and the staff was wonderful about taking it upon arrival and serving it as needed. We also had a cake that they brought out with candles at the end of the meal. All in all, I highly recommend Delfina. It’s the perfect mix of casual atmosphere with knowledgeable staff and excellent rustic Italian food.

We sat outside because the weather was good and the noise level inside was too high for us, but in addition to the food, the design inside is beautiful (and outside was comfortable and enjoyable as well).
