   When I made my reservation I let Delphina know that I was vegetarian and couldn't eat tomato. Once there, the every entree, pasta or pizza had either fish, meat or tomato. I ended up getting children's plate of pasta. It was pretty boring and not that great. There were a number of side dishes that were vegetarian but I didn't really want that. It's a nice restaurant and on every other occasion I've had great food there. Last night was a disappointment.

   I was disappointed mainly in the food at the new Delfina. We had gone to the old Delfina since it opened. This meal was prepared sloppily. The calamari and beans were swimming in dressing and were very salty. The chicken liver crostini were also very salty, and just not done right. The bread was very thick and the pate didn't hold together. The insalata di campo had much too much pancetta fat and salt. The lamb dish had pieces of lamb that were way overcooked... But also, the room was very loud. The soundproofing on the ceiling didn't seem to do much. I'd asked for a quiet table and we could barely hear each other--the music was so loud. Grumpy old(er) folks!

   It’s probably my top favorite Italian restaurant in SF. I’ve been going there for many years. This time I took my clients for closing celebration it was amazing. We got nice corner table. Great service, very pleasant server. We enjoyed delicious specials: crab pasta and pumpkin filled ravioli. Finished with braised beef which was phenomenal. Drinks were pretty tasty. Definitely going back!

   Nice re-model! Pizza with clams and sausage was outstanding as was a wood stove baked red snapper. Cabbage dish was undercooked and underwhelming. Crab with squid-inked pasta was fantastic. Music was tinny, loud, annoying. Why not play jazz with less harsh high tones and maybe invest in a better sound system? Crappy sound/music cheapens the overall vibe. I noticed new acoustic tiles overhead but they did little to quell noise. I know a lively, if loud, environment turns tables, but we were unable to talk above the din. Staff was great, knowledgeable and kind. Desserts (tiramisu and panacotta) were stellar!

   Lovely updated interior with a great menu of delicious diverse flavors. The pasta was delicious but the standout was the lamb with yogurt sauce, so tender and flavorful. The ambience was very moody and intimate, would love to come back for a special occasion.

    Great food. Tried several appetizers, entrees, and desserts and they were all delicious. Staff that waited on us were very friendly, attentive, and helpful for any questions. Definitely recommend.

    Incredibly charming restaurant. Excellent and attentive service. Great wine list. Delicious food. The restaurant is always bustling so it’s not easy to have an across the table conversation without having to raise your voice over the conversations of other diners.

    The food was exceptional. The service was great. We dined at Delfina a month before and we had friends visiting from New York so decided to take them here and they loved the food, and they had just returned from vacationing in France and Spain.

    Love the remodel. The pasta portions and ratio of calamari in the appetizer were very small. The selection of music was not to our liking…..a bit “clubby” for Delfina.

    A very noisy hub for dinner - lively but also we did find it a bit hard to talk across the small table. Food is light modern Italian. More designed for sharing food so larger numbers - four and more is ideal. We would recommend and will eat here again.

    We had a table that during dinner between 10 and 20 times people (wait staff and customers) bumped into. Sorry. This simply is unacceptable. If you pack your restaurant that densely, I am not coming back.

    Our deviled eggs had clearly come out of the fridge and not freshly made. The fried capers were cold and not crunchy. The other appetizers were ok; we were not wowed by any of our dishes minus the pasta. Over all it was underwhelming.

    Way too pricey. 7% sf mandate and tip options are 18-20-25. Rip off for a $30 pizza. No wonder no one was there tonight.

    Mediocre at best. The whipped ricotta was grainy and bland and the accompanying bread was also dull. Pasta dish was ok but a more substantial noodle with the bolognese would have been better. Duck really overcooked. Tiramisu was dry. This restaurant may have seen it’s day.

    Had my recent bday dinner here and have not been since well before the Pandemic (table next to us said the same thing) they did a remodel and have a dedicated take out/ pizza area and the main dining room reopened in October. The staff is superb and our waiter gave excellent input with regards to our wine selection (I’m clueless when it comes to Italian wines) and side dish options. I had the Oxtails: 2 ginormous pieces (took home and ate 2 other meals with the leftovers) with risotto, my hubs had the lamb with yogurt sauce and butter beans and we shared a side of tagliatelle. So delish!

    Our dinner was amazing and Delfina is still rocking it after all these years. The place has a great vibe, service was spot on, and the food is super delicious with surprising flavors. All so good. It’s taken us too long to return so I’ll have to get another table soon. Thanks Delfina!
