   Went with my mum for a Sunday lunch, amazing food and incredibly friendly and attentive service. Couldn't fault it! Hopefully we'll be back again soon.

    First time at this delightful little place. The food was delicious with lots of yummy things to choose from. I will definitely return. Things to improve on would be a speedier request for drinks. We sat for 10 minutes without being asked, so I walked to the waitress and asked. Also, the seat at the very rear of the restaurant was lovely, but had a speaker above our heads, which was a little too loud for us to converse comfortably. I also had a regular view of the kitchen as this seat was next to the door. Possibly consider hanging the kitchen door the other way around to avoid patrons seeing the meat delivery!

    All ready for us when we arrived and the lovely lady couldn’t do enough for us, even presented my daughter a beautiful chocolate brownie as a birthday treat! Cocktails were delicious too!

    First time here, first ones in, greeted at the door by a really lovely girl who couldn’t have been more friendly and hospitable! Couldn’t fault it- definitely new favourite breakfast place in Southsea- can’t believe it’s taken me this long to find out about it! Lived in Portsmouth for 31 years and never walked down the street it’s in…crazy!

    We booked for Sunday lunch as a couple & although there were large parties booked in after us we were made to feel very welcome. Service was great, kitchen and staff accommodating to our lactose intolerance (which we forewarned in our booking) and the food was great: plentiful, meats really nicely cooked and a good selection of vegetables. Thank you, We will be back !

    Our first time eating here and we had a lovely Sunday roast. Nice choices for all 3 courses. We had mains which were big portions and puddings. Everything was cooked well and arrived hot. Staff were lovely, very attentive but not intrusive. Will definitely come back the Sunday brunch menu looks good.

    Thank you for making my birthday so special. Probably the best bottomless brunch in terms of service and treatment by staff in portsmouth. The food was lovely and the cocktails and prosecco nice too. We Will absolutely be returning!

    Delicious food!! I will absolutely be visiting again very soon. Delaney's isn't a big place so it feels quite comfortable/cosy and has personality. The staff were so friendly and accommodating (vegan options available!). It was exactly what I wanted for a Sunday lunch and way more. Expect not microwaved, fresh homemade decent food, at reasonable prices. Delaney's, please don't change!

    We booked for family Sunday lunch and birthday celebration. The staff went out of their way to make it a special occasion for my family and also provided a birthday cake and song. Food was great too. Will definitely be going back Thank you Delaneys

    First Class Food and Service Extremely impressed, Sunday Lunch was delicious and excellent value for money. Quality food, delicious Roast Beef and all the trimmings and a great selection on the menu. Staff are friendly and not intrusive nothing was too much trouble. Definitely our new favourite venue in Southsea, thank you Delaneys

    Excellent roast beef, very tender and plenty of it served with good selection of very well cooked vegetables, topped off with a lovely Yorkshire pudding. Extra bowls of cauliflower cheese also provided for the table

    A hidden gem in the heart of Southsea..superb service with friendly staff but not over familiar which is a skill. Food excellent with new chef an absolute star. Really enjoyed the whole experience and can’t wait to return.

    Unfortunately the food really wasn’t that great and the service was very slow. More staff were definitely needed. Our fried breakfasts were very greasy. Also, while I appreciate it’s a family business, having a child ride their scooter up and down the bar area while people are eating is not ok.

    We arrived 5 mins before our booked time. We told the member of staff we had a table booked to which they then looked around and said "sit anywhere you want" from behind the bar. It took a further 10 mins before we had to ask for the menus. We ordered and food came. I had eggs Benedict and my friend had eggs royal. Whilst they were tasty they were slightly cold, the muffin had not been toasted as I would have expected. I didnt want to say anything at the time as my friend and I hadnt seen each other in many years and really didn't want the experience to be a negative one. There were only 2-3 other tables seated when we arrived so it wasn't busy. I would have expected a slightly quicker and more attentive experience. Shown to a table and given the menus to look at rather than being left to take a seat and having to ask for the menus nearly 10 mins after arrival. I would have ordered dessert however I wasn't confident it would be any good. I wouldn't return which is a shame as it is perfectly situated for enjoying a meal and then a walk along the sea front.

    We booked in for bottomless brunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was lovely and filling. The cocktails were delicious, although there was only one available to have with the brunch (Pornstar martini) and if you wanted cocktails, you could not vary and have a glass of Prosecco next, and vice versa. But regardless, the drinks were lovely and the bartender ensured that as we were coming to the end of our drinks, another one was being shaken up ready for us which was great - we didn’t have to chase for another drink once! The cafe was empty but the music was great so made up for the lack of atmosphere. There was even the lovely touch of providing some delicious fudge cake as it was my birthday. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our experience, felt as though we had value for our money and would return!

    Went for a pre theatre meal with members of a group I belong to. We had Fish, Chips and mushy peas, the fish was extremely tasty, moist and cooked in a light batter, the chip were delicious, we all agreed it was the best ever. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was great and very inviting. Will definitely be back.
