My wife and I have been here for brunch before, first time for dinner. A bit of a wait for our table (7:45 reservation, 8:00 we were sat). Our server was an amazing lady, Barbara S (was the name on the receipt). Absolute sweetheart. She was absolutely caring, ensured everything was perfect. Additionally my wife ordered the stuffed lobster tail, Barbara ordered the stuffing on the side for her. My wife absolutely loved that, made the tail that much easier to eat, and the stuffing was great too. Didn't change the taste at all. The food was perfect, even late at night was able to get Prime Rib as I wanted it. Absolutely great finish to our evening, would visit again, and would most definitely ask for Barbara again, and wait a bit if we needed to.
Max was our server and he was cordial, pleasant and very helpful. There were a large number of dinner items on the menu and my party was very happy with their selections.
My wife and I dined here on our way to comedy show. We had the calamari appetizer with the peanut sauce and the waitress offered us to try the red sauce. The red sauce was much better than the peanut sauce (but still good). I ordered the Delmonico Ribeye at the suggestion of our hostess, Barbara. The steak was tender and juicy! My wife ordered the hook ‘em special with an appetizer, entree, and desert for a great price. She had the clam chowder, a bit on the salty side but it was delicious. Her entree was the Fra Diavolo - which she loved but couldn’t finish. She took the desert on the road. Overall, great restaurant for a special night or a date night. It’s pricey but worth it. The meal portions are very generous.
Barbara was a sweet hostess and when I return, I would request her. Overall, great experience.
It was an outstanding. Highly recommend it to all my acquaintances. Looking forward to trying sunday’s brunch.
This was my second time to Delaney's Grill and as the first time, the food was excellent and the service was great! The atmosphere is perfect for a small birthday dinner (which is what we were there for, my birthday). The chop chop salad and pop-overs to start were awesome and everyone enjoyed their entrees!
The birthday girl really enjoyed the evening starting with the wine and straight thru to the dessert.
I reviewed Delaney's at Christmastime, when I booked there for a family dinner. This time I went with just my husband. I wanted to point out that, for a steakhouse, Delaney's provides great value. Several steaks cost under $30, and though these are the smaller ones, they are by no means small. Included with the cost of the steak are a chopped salad served family style (It is very good and what we got was more than 2 people could eat), an enormous popover, and a vegetable. You have to spend $2-$3 extra for a starch. I had the 8 oz club sirloin filet for $23.95, had no complaints, and could not finish the steak or potatoes I had ordered after a very large appetizer that I had ordered extra. Speaking of that, the crab cakes were delicious; the portion is 3 crab cakes, each on a bed of slaw, for $10. I didn't give high marks for ambiance. It's fine; there are white tablecloths, and the dining room is kept free of the noise from the bar, but it just doesn't strike me as special or cozy, though the smallish room has a fireplace. I'm not sure what it needs.
staff was very helpful and pleasant food was very tasty will be back again for brithdaysand other occasion
we were getting together with our adult children and their spouses for my husbands birthday. Our table was ready and waiting well before our reservation time. It was beautifully set and in front of the fireplace. Our waiter Max was friendly and efficient and made excellent recommendations. Our meal was timed well with no rush. Each of our choices were superb and we are not particularly easy to please. My husband and I have been there previously and were excited to introduce our children to this lovely place. Each of them let us know how much they enjoyed the experience and would love to return. For a truly pleasant experience this is the place to go.
One aspect of great meal is the pace in which each course is present Delaney house got it right and made the meal & evening all that much better!
Not a fan of table, kept hitting knee on legs. Not many steak options. Let the meat shine and do away with sauce or just put on the side. Sides were not good/too small/should be included. On a positive, service was great, apps were great, salad was great, prices were good. Underwhelmed with main course.
I’m in love with the chopped salad and popovers! The Chilean sea bass is the best along with the duck breast! They make a pretty good Lemon Drop Martini, too!
We had a wonderful experience on our Anniversary / Valentines Day, the food and service was excellent. We will definitely go back again!
Made reservations through Open table and was not at all disappointed. Our wait was only a couple of minutes, the staff was very friendly, and the food was to die for. The handcrafted cocktails were absolutely delicious! Our steaks were cooked perfectly as were our asparagus fries and calamari. This restaurant made our night one to remember and may now be a Galentine's Day tradition for my best friend and I.
Great food, great service. Will be back again. Definitely recommend getting reservations
We enjoyed a delicious meal, beautiful setting, and attentive but not rushed service.
It is always nice for brunch. Reserve for an early seating for calm and quiet. Gets busy around 11am. Nice variety, especially of meats. Service is good and pricing is right on target.
Really great service and choices. Very warm and friendly environment, would highly recommend to friends and family!
Outstanding service and food. Our dinners were served in a timely mannor, hot and very tasty. Would recommend to family and friends.
Nice GF menu! Not busy that night but we were not rushed and able to relax after finishing our meals!
It was a little loud in the room, two other large parties, not a romantic dinner atmosphere, not many specials offered.
Went here for my wife's birthday with friends, had a great time, as always the food is good. The lady's had the short ribs, guys had the prime rib. The reserved table by the fireplace made her night
Impeccable service and delicious food! We celebrated an 80th birthday and everything was perfectly perfect.
We've enjoyed Delaney's Sunday brunch a few times, and have always found both the food and service to be excellent. We do wish that they would label their desserts, however. It's often pretty difficult what might be lurking under the whipped cream and other toppings, and that could be important for people with certain food sensitivities.
Enjoyed the Sunday Brunch, food nice and fresh and a good variety. Staff was friendly and polite. Good brunch selection for all taste and the food is well prepared.
My one comment is that getting a coffee refill took a little effort, in the past at Delaney the wait staff would actively circulate to offer coffee or tea but in my recent visit not once did anyone come over to ask about beverages for myself or the rest of the party. It's a small matter but if one is paying $26 for brunch I expect staff to periodically check on if anyone needs coffee, tea or a drink.
I have been here for Brunch and was impressed. This dinner date was far from impressive. We arrived for a reservation and still waited 20 minutes for a table. There were two bands playing at the same time in separate rooms making it very loud. The waiter was unprofessional for the quality I thought the restaurant was going to be. Unable to control, but the couple next to us got the wrong meal and when she tried to add things to it, it took a while to get the items.
It is unfortunate to have to write a bad review about Delaney Grill as Delaney’s has always been a go to for a great night out of great service and great food. This was absolutely not the case this visit. The service was good, the short ribs were pretty good and the desserts (banana Jamaican and bread pudding) were very good but that is where the good ends. The appetizers (calamari and shrimp bruschetta) were mediocre at the very best. The multiple sides (risotto, Mac and Cheese, veggies) were more than disappointing. The three steak dishes were all over $30 and were such poor cuts of meat that you could barely saw through them with a steak knife never mind chew them (and you could see the tendons running through one of them). The steaks were all cooked perfectly (Med Rare) as ordered however the quality was just NOT acceptable, for any steakhouse never mind Delaney Grill. This was not the most expensive meal but when the bill is well over $300 you hope you walk away satisfied not incredibly disappointed. Certainly not what you expect from the Delaney.
It was our first time there and we truly enjoyed everything about the restaurant. The food was amazing.
The food was superb, had the short ribs which were so delicious and tender. They melted in your mouth with the red wine reduction gravy and carrots. Came with a chopped salad and a popover. More than enough food. Even brought home leftovers.
The service was excellent. She was attentive and friendly. The only downside was that the noise level is loud. There weren’t a lot of people there but there is nothing to absorb the sound so it’s hard to hear each other. Besides that, I would go back anytime.
OMG - every year we travel to Springfield for a convention and in the last three visits we simply book both dinner nights at Delaney's - why go anywhere else - it is beyond AWESOME.
Service was very good, food was good. Seating was decent though the room was somewhat noisy. Original glass of wine chosen seemed stale and it was promptly replaced by different
type of wine. Would definitely return.
Everything was great
I was unimpressed with the food at the delaney grill besides the shrimp bruschetta which was delicious. The chairs were uncomfortable and it felt about 100 degrees in there (I even heard one of the servers ask if they could put the air on). That being said the check in desk and waiter were fabulous and very friendly.
This is truly an excellent restaurant. We’ve been coming here for years and it’s always top-shelf food and service. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and we always sit in the library. It is definitely one of the top restaurants in the Springfield area. I highly recommend it.
Great service. Food was excellent. Saw it for years from 91 and stopped to enjoy.
I was disappointed to say the least. My roasted chicken portion consisted of 3 small pieces and the sauce was gritty. The request for extra crispy calamari did not come to fruition and it was extremely greasy as though it was taken out of the deep fryer and put on the plate without letting it drain. Overall poor meal that did not come close to the price. However, the service was great and besides the company I was with, it was the best part of the evening. I will not recommend this establishment to anyone.
The food was excellent the service was great the atmosphere superb. This is a high end eating experience.
My rice was not cooked all the way a little on hard side that was my only complaint it was fantastic other than that.
The service was exceptional and the food was excellent. The atmosphere was perfect for a romantic date night. I loved that the appetizers and food were spaced out just enough and we did not feel rushed at all. Our waiter made sure we were well attended to throughout our entire meal.
I feel the menu is quite limited and a bit overpriced. The table we sat at with 4 people was a size to fit two people. My husband ordered the teriyaki steak and was did not find the flavor likable.
