Del Sur Artisan Eats
Nice menu and excellent service from Kyle
The only thing I was not fond of was the closeness of tables. Just wanted quiet dinner with special someone and felt like people beside us could hear ever word. They were really close to us . Food and service hands down the best around
Del Sur offers a welcome alternative to the usual seafood centric restaurants in the St. Simons Island village area. The South American influence is a welcome variation and the quality of the food and preparation is good to excellent. Service is almost always efficient and not intrusive and that was the case this time. Definitely a go-to choice when you want a break from shrimp and grits.
The food was fantastic and the service was great. Highly recommend and I'll definitely be going back again and again.
We intend to return soon. Interesting menu. Attentive service.
Always a great meal with friendly staff. Will definitively go back soon!
The service was attentive but never overbearing. We received helpful and great advice on the type of wine to have with the meals. We all enjoyed our meals but the 2 that had the skirt steaks highly recommended them. Overall it was a great evening.
They were so welcoming of our party of 12 (including 4 kids of varied ages). It never felt like a big group dinner because they were so prepared to take care of us. Everyone loved the food! Especially good to start was the Argentinian sausage, the polenta with pomodoro and truffle oil, and the grilled provoleta. The short rib entree captured the attention of the majority of our diners, as well as the gaucho mixed grill. Wines were delicious and reasonably priced. It was a delightful evening at a restaurant I would highly recommend for groups big or small!
Food was decent for cost.
Service was excellent.
Great Food and service .... limited menu options .... pricey but reasonable!
Reviews were very misleading. Food was substandard and the menu was so unusual- we should’ve expected what we got based on the menu. Skip this one- there’s better food all around St. Simons.
Everything we had was delicious. The empanadas (beef and chicken) were both amazing. The shrimp primavera dish was great as well. Lovely atmosphere on the patio.
Overall so-so. Provaleta app was great , but other food was pretty bland. Rigatoni bolognese was way too sweet to be considered authentic (tastes like a ton of cinnamon) and Marsala needed tons of salt to taste like anything. Wine list is pathetic for a restaurant at this price point. Short rib risotto was a huge disappointment - risotto tasted like unflavored grits. Not terrible but other better options.
The food was mediocre at best and the service was poor. We were dining outside and, when we had not gotten any attention 20 minutes after we'd been seated, I actually went into the restaurant to ask if someone could come out to take our drink order. Despite that pointed request, the service didn't improve drastically. We would not return.
Small bistro feel to it. Had perfectly prepared scallops. Nice wine list with range or prices. Attentive and expert server. Highly recommended.
Kyle was a great server- needs a bit more training re bar offerings, but kind and attentive. Food was average; gremolata for ribeye was a nice touch, but the filet mignon lacked the expected bacon wrap and it was set right on top of mashed potatoes :( Our menus and bread plates were dirty. Menu offering was typical which runs counter to the advertised “artisan” offering. Overall value was not great considering the food prices relative to flavor and lack of uniqueness.
One of our best dining selections of the week! The lobster ravioli was amazing. The homemade bread was exceptional, as well. Every table was full, yet the service was never impacted. I would highly recommend dining there!
Mother/Daughter weekend beach outing eating at our favorite places on Saint Simons Island! The last time I had my back to the action of the restaurant but I was so impressed with how ALL the staff took care of everyone no matter whose table it was! We tried all the empanadas with the lamb being our favorite! My daughters scallop risotto was decadent, my shrimp primavera with linguine was nice and light. Key lime pie good and crepes were not too heavy. A nice evening!
Del Sur Restaurant on St. Simons Island never fails to create an excellent atmosphere to gather with my friends and family. The food is amazing and the service is impeccable. The owner(s) always visit the table at least once to make sure that we are enjoying our food and receiving great service. Speaking of service...Kyle was very pleasant, engaging, and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. The hostess and busboys were very friendly, too. This was my fifth visit to Del Sur and I recommend it highly to anyone looking to have a great meal in a great atmosphere.
Great service and food. Only comment I have is the restroom, there is only one which is not very bladder friendly.
Great Meal with outstanding service.
Del Sur has improved with every visit. The empanadas are outstanding, and I had a very good risotto (short rib beef with arugula salad on top). I also saw some items, especially fish dishes, that I would like to try. Drew was our waiter and was busy but efficient. Atmosphere was relaxed and casual, but more special than many on Mallory. After dinner I felt I had dined. Recommend.
Amazing food and impeccable service! Can’t wait to go back
Really enjoyed Del Sir. Of course, it was noisy and crowded (signs of success). The village in St. Simon's on a weekend.... Food was great - we had steaks. One of the owners introduced himself - a great touch of service. Will definitely go again and try some of their pastas and other dishes.
Food was mediocre. Appetizers were flat. The shrimp had no flavor although it sat in a lot of tomato sauce. Ceasar salad app was plain with commercial type dressing. Osso Bucco was dry. Linqueni with with white clam sauce was too runny with not much flavor. Short rib ravioli had watery sauce and not very tasty. Waitress was pleasant but didn't stop by to ask how food was. I think the place caters to Tourists therefore the quality suffers.
The food was excellent. we had the chicken empanada to start. We both had pasta dishes which were cooked to perfection. Service was good, but the younger wait staff had some trouble explaining things from the menu (which was the only negative - don’t let this dissuade you from visiting).
Overall it was an excellent dinner and we would return.
Visited on July 4th. Celebrating wedding anniversary; traveling to St Simmons for first time. Reservation made was honored on time. We surely felt welcomed all the way from the moment we got there until departure. Owner took time to stop by and check on us. Our waiter Kyle (blonde young guy) was excellent. Kudos to the guy for checking on periodically. My wife and I were seated towards the back. Wine selection was very good; my wife’s lemon drop martini was excellent. From the food perspective, the Caprese Salad was excellent, as well as my Skirt Steak dish was both nicely presented, and flavor was delicious on both. That said, while nicely presented, my wife’s salmon dish was under seasoned; note for the future. I will also suggest to elevate the ambiance by incorporating music at the place, and instead of Manila color butcher paper on the tables, make them white as it gives a more classic feeling to the place.
Yet, I look forward to come back and visit them again in the near future.
Everything was good except the food was just so so. Husband was disappointed with his beef, my salmon was overdone but my granddaughter liked her pasta.
Delicious but a bit loud. Will definitely be back.
When you’re on St Simons Island, this is a must stop. Linguini and Shrimp Primavera was absolutely fantastic.
Del Sur has never disappointed us! We highly recommend it!
We love this restaurant! Every summer we plan on dining here for a consistent, delicious and enjoyable experience!
I love everything about it! All the people I have recommended it to have loved it as well!
The food was below average in flavor and presentation. The Argentina provolone has zero flavor.
Our server was very sweet but never poured our wine for us.
The fish was over cooked.
Excellent food with hardest working staff on the island. Always enjoy eating here. Only thing I would suggest is for owner to go to Home Depot or somewhere and purchase some felt chair pads for the legs of the wooden chairs. The constant scraping sound of people moving chairs can be a little annoying. Still love this place, though.
Food was very tasty and well prepared. Service was excellent and food came out quickly and very nicely presented on plate. Only disappointment was it was our anniversary and hoped for maybe a little something for dessert to make it extra special. We always enjoy the food here though and will be back when in SSI.
I went with my 10 year old daughter and we both found so many options on the menu! There is something for everyone and the food was delicious! You must try an empanada!
We, a party of 7 visiting from NC, went to celebrate my boyfriend’s daughter’s birthday. When Ian called to confirm my reservation, I asked if it was possible for us to bring a birthday cake a couple of hours earlier, and for them to bring it to the table at the time of the desert with the candles on, as a surprise for her, and he immediately said yes! When I brought the cake, they let me change the time of my reservation for 30 minutes later without hesitation. Once we got there for dinner, we found the service was excellent, and the food was outstanding! We enjoyed a lovely night and they made sure our birthday girl was having a good time. This is an amazing restaurant and I would love to go back soon!
Great service!!! Must try: Pasta Vongele ... “secret tip”: order extra clams!
Super music ... Tango ... perfect background!
We’d never had lunch at Del Sur, but friends had highly recommended it. We were not disappointed- food was wonderful, staff very eager to please (and funny), and ambiance just right - noise level Lowe enough so we could enjoy a family gathering without shouting to one another.
