Del Rey at Villa Royale

This sexy little restaurant is such a wonderful hideaway! The food was incredible and the cocktails were excellent. Happy Hour menu was my favorite part! Extra thank-you to the great staff, they were cracking us up and totally treated me for my birthday dinner. I cannot wait to go back to this tapas bar.
Deanna was wonderful and engaging! Absolutely a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the company of friends.
Nothing short of perfect.
Great place. Some of the dishes were over-salted (the cauliflower in particular was way too salty). Other than that, a delicious meal.
The space is very beautiful and moody, but the food and cocktails leave something to be desired. The kitchen has a very heavy hand when it comes to seasoning the food. There were four of us, and it seemed like everyone's dish was either too spicy, salty, or sweet, to the point of being inedible.
The food was great, service (thanks Deanna) was fantastic. Steak prepared perfectly. Loved the setting. Great location as well.
Great food and service at a wonderful restaurant!
Loved the resort and ambiance .
Highly recommend this restaurant.
Zoee was a very attentive server and very friendly !
Took us 20 minutes to get our drinks. We ordered appetizers and they took forever to come out. Apps came out and then our food within minutes. The place wasn’t too busy. Beautiful restaurant but service was sub par.
Very nice - we ate inside to enjoy air conditioning, it was pleasant but very dark. Otherwise, a wonderful time.
Love this place!
Love this place!
Really nice addition to Palm Springs dining. Dark clubby feel, excellent food, and good service.
Beautiful place, super dark and moody interior - Mid century modern. Came here with my family for father’s day. We ordered everything on the happy hour menu, mocktails, and a delicious desert and were completely satisfied ( and came in for under 100$ including tip) Food is overall really delicious and service was great too. Would recommend!
Brilliant. Definitely the best dining experience I’ve had in Palm Springs in a long time! The place, the staff, the food- all top notch and can’t recommend it enough.
Fun eclectic menu and atmosphere. Menu is very interesting with great spices but a little limited. Ate on the patio with iron chairs and small tables. For dinner might choose inside next time. Will definitely go back. We were fans of the previous restaurant. The new hotel upgrades are really attractive and would be a great destination weekend.
Usually love this place - not so much this visit. Dining options are sparse. The place was so dark inside, beyond “atmosphere” it was pitch black. Although a very quiet night there, our party of 4 was sat in the way back.. plenty of tables open ip front, don’t know why that was. We felt isolated and almost like they didn’t want to put gays in the front room.
Since we took friends to introduce them to the place, they didn’t seem to want to make an effort to go back, sadly.
We were eating at the restaurant, celebrating a birthday. The staff was very pleasant, the atmosphere inviting and the food was outstanding.
This was our first time to Del Rey and were very pleased with the quality of the food, thoughtful presentations and friendly staff. We would definitley recommend to others and plan on returning soon.
The only fault I can find was that the tables are to small if you are a party of more than 4. We sat outside and all the tables are round Bistro style so putting two together was no use.
We absolutely LOVED Del Rey. The ambiance was lovely, great for a date. The cocktails were amazing (and reasonably priced during happy hour!). The food was our favorite of the weekend, and the service is so great. We can't wait to return next time we are in Palm Springs!
Great restaurant for a romantic date, sure to be a classic. The food was awesome! The service was outstanding. Mid-Century style and attitude; thought I would see Frank and the boys at the bar!
Limited menu. Super service.
Great service! Delicious vegan options. Wish there was a vegan dessert option though
I would call this a hidden gem. Everything about the place is great. The food was amazing and the service was great. When we go next time I think we will try for dining on the patio, which didn’t realize was there. Highly recommend Del Rey!
Ubercool dark restaurant with great service and wonderful food. It is not a typical restaurants. Small, medium, large plates. Unique cocktails. Truly, one of the best "never-heard-of-it" wines, ever. Feels undiscovered.
Wow! What an exceptional place and experience. The Villa Royale is a stunning property and the restaurant and bar are hidden gems. We ate out on the private patio on a perfect spring evening. It was gorgeous. The menu was small but everything we had was stunning. The manchego bomba, cauliflower and heart of palm escabeche were all exceptionally flavorful and interesting. For main courses, the branzino was brilliant and melted in your mouth and the steak/chimichurri and brick chicken were both intensely flavorful. This is really a magical spot where you feel truly transported.
I'm sorry to say that we found the food seriously lacking. We shared 4 dishes and not one did we find satisfying. The brussel sprouts were very undercooked. Although the octopus small plate tasted good, the presentation of this dish was very unappetizing; the size of the octopus itself was ridiculously small. The raddichio salad was ill conceived and poorly executed. The lamb large plate was the best of the 4. They need to rethink their menu. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Was looking forward to seeing the renovation. Beautiful interior, odd loud music, relaxed service, not bad, but relaxed. Very, very limited wine list also pricey, food was very good but overpriced and a very limited selection. Not going to rush back.
This was our first time at Del Rey - surprisingly empty for a Saturday evening, although the patio was full - very atmospheric (i.e. dark) and the server was friendly and professional - rather limited menu but we were happy with our choices - the only real negative for us was the overly loud recorded music - we asked our server if it could be turned down a bit and she did have it turned down - but it was still intrusive, especially given the fact that the area we were seated in was virtually empty - the music volume and strange mix (jazz standards and 50s rock and roll) seemed at odds with the sophistication of the place, which we found to be quite good otherwise
The limited menu was difficult. Food was less than outstanding.
Loved our waitress, DeAnna! Her smile at our every request made us feel so welcome. This, added to the fabulous food, made this en extra special evening!!
Gorgeous surroundings, great food and excellent service!
Great little hidden garden spot for outdoor dining. Limited menu but fun.
Fantastic food, fantastic ambience, fantastic server
Perfect dark clubby environment for an early cocktail. The food cannot be recommended. Drink responsibly, head home for a tumble and then out to dinner at one of the many fine restaurants in Palm Springs.
Server, Zoee, was great. Ambiance is great. Don't order the Chicken. It was raw inside. It wasn't "just" underdone, "slightly pink" - it was raw. Browned skin, but totally raw when you cut into it. Unbelievable to us. It's like the kitchen never cooked chicken before. When we told our server, she handled it beautifully. Brought out a replacement Branzino (no, we did not want Chicken any longer) immediately, and the fish was pretty good. And she comped our main course. Also appreciated. But we're not sure if any manager was told. And it's pretty important to alert someone in charge about the kitchen not cooking chicken properly. I called the hotel yesterday and left a message about it, but no one returned my call. By the way, the other appetizers were only fair, and drinks so-so. I'd pick another place to have dinner.
It was not what we expected. We have been to the dining room before and thought that was the reservation. Unfortunatel it was not. Del Rey was expensive for both the menu and amount of food. The fish was blackened as indicated but overcooked to the point of being dry and too crusted. The chicken was dry and tough. All in all we were disappointed compared to our previous experiences.
Excellent, attentive service. Very cool vibe. The food was good, not great, but overall the experience was fun and we enjoyed our evening.
This was our first dinner here and I have to say we were highly impressed with the service! The ambiance is great and the food was unbelievable! We’ll be back very soon. Five stars!!!
Iloved the atmosphere.I would have preferred if some of the small plates were served warm instead of cold.
