About Del Posto
Del Posto is the first Italian restaurant in almost 40 years to be awarded 4 stars from the New York Times. We can best be described as an evolution of cuisines, menus, service, and ambiance that have characterized the history of the Italian dining experience in this country.
Parties of 5 or larger have the choice of either the 5 course Il Menu Del Posto or an 8 course Captain's menu. A la carte dining is available for parties of 4 guests or fewer.
Del Posto respectfully requests that gentlemen refrain from wearing shorts, sandals, sleeveless shirts, or baseball caps. Jackets are strongly recommended, but not required. We welcome younger guests ages 6 and older. Strollers are not permitted and high chairs are not available.

Del Posto Ratings and Reviews
One of the best and finest tables in NYC.
Top notch service, outstanding italian food with a matching wine list, big spacious room with a lot of space between tables makes the experience quiet and enjoyable.
Staff is attentive, well prepared and accommodating.
During white truffle season the best option in the city.
Its expensive, only caveat.
Very highly recommended !!
My boyfriend and I went for lunch on Valentines Day and we did the 6 course tasting menu. The service was impeccable and they were able to accommodate my food sensitivities. The atmosphere is beautiful, clean and the piano in the background just was the icing on the cake. It was our second time there and I would return again.
This was our first time visiting Del Posto. Before the evening was over we had decided that we will plan a future trip back to NYC just to dine here again. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was very attentive, warm and professional . And yet the food steals the show. We had the 5 course tasting with wine pairing. Wow! Each selection was tremendous, flawless. Perfect. Yes it’s expensive. If you want an exceptional experience, dine here, it is worth it.
This great restaurant was recommended by a friend who used to live in NYC. I asked for fine dining with sophisticated ambience. Del Posto was all of that. Food was excellent. Service was outstanding. Very unhurried special occasion type meal. Price is commensurate with the quality of food and service and NYC location. I would definitely return.
Del Posto is great for those with deep wallets and a taste for fine cuisine. The restaurant is really about doing 5 course or 8 course prix fix menu. A la carte dining is available but prices are not posted - who provides a la carte dining but does not post prices?
Everything (other than a few of the deserts) was able to be made gluten free and the servers were so accommodating of both dietary needs and the early start to our show up town. The food was out of this world. Would love to go back. I’m so glad that places this grear with service this incredible still exist.
Once again, Del Posto exceeded my expectations. I was concerned that it couldn't possibly live up to my first meal there which turned out to be the best dining experience I have had over many years and many locations. It is not a quick meal. With wine tasting it takes 3-4 hours for a 5 course + dinner. Such a wonderful time and interesting, delicious food!
This place had a great food and excellent atmosphere. The staff was very professional. As we were from non English speaking country, we found what is written in the menu to be difficult to understand. We asked the waiter for help but the waiter’s explanation was also a bit difficult. I wish they could be a little more friendly to the visitors from abroad. But overall, we really enjoyed the time and the food.
We were celebrating my mom's birthday and we could not have picked a better Italian place for her (she's a highly discerning in her Italian food). Service was accommodating, attentive, friendly and professional. The room is impressive but not intimidating. Food was excellent and plentiful for the coursed meal. Overall a great dining experience for our group, which included a 7-year-old.
