Parties of 5 or larger have the choice of either the 5 course Il Menu Del Posto or an 8 course Captain's menu. A la carte dining is available for parties of 4 guests or fewer.
Del Posto respectfully requests that gentlemen refrain from wearing shorts, sandals, sleeveless shirts, or baseball caps. Jackets are strongly recommended, but not required. We welcome younger guests ages 6 and older. Strollers are not permitted and high chairs are not available.

Del Posto Ratings and Reviews
I was very excited to take a group for a business dinner as I had been to Del Posto several years ago and had the best pasta dish I had ever had. Unfortunately I was very disappointed in the food this time. We were required to have a five course meal due to our size which was fine but I felt that our selections were limited, especially related to pasta choices and the food was not very tasty, it was salty, not served hot and very underwhelming.
I don’t understand why so many diners are enamored with Del Posto. Granted, the table setting and ambiance are impeccable. But, we three ordered the $179pp Captain’s menu and rated the eight courses 5 to 8.5 on a scale of 10, or generally good to very good. However, we were deceived by the $30pp white Truffle butter upgrade on a couple forkfuls of pasta, got served Matsutake mushrooms, and despite reassurances from the sommelier that we could pick our wine first and the chefs will pair the food, ended up being served swordfish with our Barbaresco. “Del Posto is NOT the ultimate expression of what an Italian restaurant should be”, unless Porcini and Cremini mushrooms are extinct and schools of Hamachi have invaded the Mediterranean. This finicky fusion cuisine was a disappointment. I have eaten risotto di go in Burano, bistecca alla fiorentina (yes, in Florence), grilled fish in Positano with balsamic, olive oil, lemon, and mint. I have dined on cinghiale and curlurgiones in Sardegna. Mario Batali knows better, unless getting you to part with your money for ambiance and service is the goal. Do I really have to clarify that my dietary dislikes are offal, not awful, and that I would like a digestivo, not a digestif? Well, I generously tipped them $300 on the $1000+ bill but I’m not going back. The online marketing of Del Posto is the most fascinating thing about it because this diner doesn’t perceive the value.
The experience starts with walking through the door. The lighting, ambience, high ceilings... service is exceptional with knowledge of food and drink at every level. The chef inspired amuse bouche were lovely, the house whipped butter was delicious if not a bit excessive in quantity. We ordered a la carte, but there is a 5 course menu and an 8 course tasting menu also available. Prices are quite high and a meal of 2 appetizers, one primo, one secondo, one dessert, a half bottle of wine and an amaro was $320 USD excluding tip. That said the experience and the food were top notch. My fiancé and I will definitely be back, hopefully with more of a budget though.
Mario and Joe with a great staff never disappoint.
From the confirmation call to the wine cellar tour after abundant food and drink we can’t thank the team enough for their hospitality and professional touch.
Food displayed their range and ingredient quality like no other cooking this style and menu.
The flavors remind you to ignore the English speaking around you and feel like you are in Italy.
Need an alternative to more than individual wine pairings for those unable to tolerate amount of alcohol offered though.
Look forward to our next excuse to come to Manhattan and indulge.
Unique and elegant atmosphere that feels warm, inviting, and luxurious. The menu is quite diverse, and dishes and service were some of the best I've experience in the city. favorite dishes would include the truffle ravioli, hamachi, and even their cultured cream. Each dish feels thoughtfully and meticulously prepared, and it certainly tastes elevated and pristine.
A wonderful experience! After a disappointing Eleven Madison Park experience, we were not sure what to expect of Del Posto. We were very pleased with the chef’s tasting menu and wine pairing with bonus white truffle addition. The sommelier and wait staff were very attentive! We will be back!
I'd heard great things about Del Posto and it did not disappoint. From the first bite, I knew that I would not be disappointed. The staff was amazing and the atmosphere was incredible. I will definitely be coming back to celebrate another event at this restaurant.
The best dinner we have ever had! My husband and I are foodies who truly value the effort of a fantastic meal. The restaurant is Michelin worthy! The s service, food and the special attention to detail they made my husband our menu with his name on it! Just sublime in ever way! We will be back and will cherish the memory there forever!
Very disappointing after seeing such great reviews. Having dined at some of the finest restaurants internationally, the reviews made us salivate for this supposed culinary experience.
We had pasta with sea urchin and a pasta with rabbit sausage. Both were so salted that it
was like a disinfectant. The pasta itself was perfectly cooked but ruined by this, The chicken was good as an entrée but nothing special. Avoid the wine "pairings" as it was more like a substandard tasting than pairing. The wines were fair but so little was given that one would be better off ordering a bottle. Service was decent but impersonal.
One of my favorites in the city. The service is beyond imaginable. Live classical jazz music in the background adds great ambiance in the dining area. I had the three course lunch menu with additional primi and my salad with truffle dressing was very fresh and crisp. I had their rabbit pasta which was perfectly cooked to al dente and the sauce was creamy. My lamb trip was succulent and beautifully cooked. The dessert I had was ricotta gelato and it was soft yet slightly chewy in texture, just what authentic gelato ought to be. Complementary bread with creme fraishe and chocolates and cookies at the end were nice welcome and ending notes to this wonderful journey at del posto
