About Del Posto
Del Posto is the first Italian restaurant in almost 40 years to be awarded 4 stars from the New York Times. We can best be described as an evolution of cuisines, menus, service, and ambiance that have characterized the history of the Italian dining experience in this country.
Parties of 5 or larger have the choice of either the 5 course Il Menu Del Posto or an 8 course Captain's menu. A la carte dining is available for parties of 4 guests or fewer.
Del Posto respectfully requests that gentlemen refrain from wearing shorts, sandals, sleeveless shirts, or baseball caps. Jackets are strongly recommended, but not required. We welcome younger guests ages 6 and older. Strollers are not permitted and high chairs are not available.

Del Posto Ratings and Reviews
From cocktails in the lounge to dessert this was an amazing meal and fabulous dining experience. Loved the uniqueness of every course, the amusee offered and especially the white truffle ravioli. Service was perfectly timed and most gracious.
Will definitely be back!
Not a good restaurant, a GREAT restaurant. One of the most pleasant dining experiences my wife and I have ever had. The staff couldn’t be more professional and attentive from the minute you walk in until you walk out the door. The food and wine quality is second to none. We highly recommend this above average restaurant.
DePosto is an unbelievable dining experience. The service and food are both excellent. Our waiter truly wanted us to enjoy our evening, taking the time to explain the menu and cater the selections to our tastes. Everything was perfect. Will definitely return next time I am in NYC.
Del Posto delivered an exquisite holiday experience, with a sophisticated menu and the service you would expect from such a top notch restaurant. The food was a wonderful melange of ingredients and tastes. We had the wine pairing which was good but perhaps lacking a little compared to the quality of the food.
The service was quick and efficient but, at times, a bit confusing due to the constant stream of different people attending to your table. A special note of recognition is due to Yelena, table steward with passion and fire for the food and the experience she wants to deliver to her diners.
Del Posto is, overall, an exquisite experience of fine dining. As posh as it may be, it still delivered an experience of warmth and appreciation for its clientele which can sometimes be missing in establishments with such a pre-eminent reputation. It’s well worth the opportunity to enjoy a moment of fine Italian dining at its best.
We booked this at the last minute for our final night in NYC. Somehow we got extremely lucky and were able to get a reservation the day before - probably due to someone else’s last minute cancellation. The down side was that neither myself nor my friend had packed dinner jackets for this trip so we were going in a little underdressed with slacks and sweaters - business casual, as their site advises. This led to the only negative inference I could give about the service as we definitely felt that we were treated a bit differently due to the lack of a jacket on a Saturday night.
The menu was very diverse and, even though my wife and I are well-travelled foodies, we had to repeatedly ask questions about menu items we have never before encountered. The sommelier was excellent and paired us up with a couple of wonderful wines in our desired price range. The actual food was interesting but, honestly, we were not blown away. No one dish soared or fell flat but, after a previous lunch at the Modern Cafe, we were expecting much, much more from a restaurant at this price point and this reputation.
All of us that this was a place to go to once. If we are spending this sum of money, I will be looking elsewhere for dinner or revisit Del Posto during lunch hours when I understand they have a revised prix fixe menu.
