As always, this place is outstanding and our waitress Katie is great. We wish they were in La Jolla. We'd be there more often.
There are not many restaurants in Southern California that serve high quality Chinese food. I spent many years as a Manhattan resident and had no problem finding the best such food, and my husband and I prepared Chinese food at home for years. We have high standards, therefore, and I'm grateful to have found Rendezvous years ago. I go there every time I am in the San Diego area, and it has always been rewarded. Sunday was no exception!

The food is always delicious and we like the healthy options such as vegan, vegetarian and gluten free items on the menu. Never had a bad entree here! But watch your bill as we were charged for an entree we didn't order nor receive. Almost missed it, in fact, had already paid the bill when we discovered it. One must always be vigilant.
I have been here several times in the last few years. The food is constantly good and the service is friendly and always good

The food, the service and ambiance all superb ! There are endless vegan and gluten free dishes on the menu wow we loved it !The manager is a 5 Star leader! Delightful place we will be back for sure!
This was a great value. Food was made from fresh ingredients and was reasonably priced. Portions are large and dining family style was a good option. For us, a typical portion provided a meal at the restaurant and enough left for a meal at home. We thoroughly enjoyed the entire dining experience.
Not blown away by this place. Food was just average, sometimes even bland. Menu items were very over inflated. Staff was friendly and efficient. Would not return.

This place is always very good. The food is great, they have a good wine list, and the servers are very good.
After a disappointing experience with the host (he gave the last "good" table to a group without reservations while a long line of people with reservations waited and waited for his attention), we were pleasantly surprised. The rest of the service was great and the food was very good.
This was the best chinese/asian-inspired meal I've had in a long time. Fresh ingredients, creative recipes and generous portions all created a perfect meal. They offer an impressive wine and local beer list. I loved the ambience of the restaurant, and the host and waitress were welcoming and did a great job. The Del Mar area is lovely and this restaurant is highly recommended.

Try to go “outside of the box” when ordering here. This is not the place to get the same ol same ol thing you’ve always ordered at an Asian restaurant. Try something unique and you’ll be pleasantly surprised! The Mongolian Rack of Lamb is amazing! The service is outstanding and you will definitely want to go back and savor more interesting choices on the menu.
Been coming to rendezvous for over 10 yrs. worst meal i have had there. Crowded. Waitress could not handle the load. Will be going back because i do love it there, but food was cold. One order was not put in correctly. May need to try a less busy time to dine here from now on.
Food is plentiful but only average in taste. Kung Po chicken was somewhat dry and not spicy enough.
Our favorite Chinese food restaurant in San Diego area. We drive up here from downtown SD on Sundays(no traffic) for dinner because it is so excellent. Great variety, excellent wine list.
Great for family dining and extensive gluten free menu is great for as we have gluten sensitivity in the family. The kids loved the food and it was nice to sit outside.

Best Chinese food in the area. We went for Valentine's Day because we hadn't had Chinese in a long time. Creative menu with a wide range of choices.
Pan fried noodles! So hard to find outside of SF... dog friendly patio. Very good service and the food was consistently good. THe lamb chops were extremely tender and not gamey. Would definitely go again.
Overall very good service and food and one of our favorite places for Asian. However, this visit even with an Open Table reservation the hostess refused to seat us in a booth even though the place was empty. As we ate our meals, I noticed the same thing happening to other diners as they requested a specific table and were also refused by the hostess. Not sure why this new policy is being enforced. Hoping this new and improved seating policy won't last. Other than that, highly recommended!
The flavors are incredible! Better than any Chinese restaurants in the area!
We used opentable to get a reservation. But, the table that we got was terrible-in a noisy and very hot back room. The booths are quite nice but perhaps using opentable instead of calling the restaurant does not get the best table.
The service is annoying because one waiter takes your order and other delivers it. I usually request a glass of wine with the main meal and I have to ask the second waiter to bring it, even though I ordered it originally from the first waiter.
A really nice restaurant, a little pricey, but accommodating to vegans.
The problem I see repeatedly is their early closing hour (9 PM) inadvertently causes your dinner occasion to suffer because they either give you a rushed feeling (because they want to close) or else they abandon you because they are busy getting ready to close. This reduces the value of the evening dinner experience here.
I think it may be best to use this restaurant for the odd early dinner or lunch, to avoid the closing chaos.

In town for a few days and this place has been voted best Chinese so we decided to try them. We had Soup and Dim Sum.
Looked awesome, but just ok on flavors. Guess it depends on your expectations.

Best Chinese food I've found in the San Diego area! It is a little more upscale but nothing too fancy where you can't have a casual dinner there. The waiters are very friendly and the food is great!
Went here on a Thursday night with friends. The place was buzzing. They have a very rich selection of Chinese meals and also a big selection of gluten-free meals. Many of the choices are great for sharing family style. We had a mixture of wine, beer and water with the meals all at very reasonable prices. The food was very tasty and we had a fantastic time.
You can park in the parking structure behind the restaurant and they will comp your parking.
Great place for a night where you crave good Chinese food.
