Del Frisco's Grille - Southlake
Well, what to say? We still really like the Grill, a lot. The service is great. The people are great. The place is very nice. BUT, I don’t know if it’s Landry’s influence but the quality of the food is changing and not in a good way. We go to the Grill for the steaks but we’re not going to keep paying the old prices for an inferior product.
Staff did a wonderful job. Went through two ribeye steaks and had to send them both back as they were stringy and gristle filled, but they took care of me.
Our dinner of scallops and steak was outstanding! Beautiful sunset viewable thru windows.
I was disappointed that although listed as a Landry’s restaurant on line, we were denied the ability to use Landry’s gift card or receive points.
Everything went well.
Excellent service, fantastic food. A bit loud, but no big deal.
We were out for an early dinner. I ordered chopped steak med- well. I expected nice browning on the outside and juicy inside. Was I recurved was a charred hockey puck. Awful. So I’ll eat my broccoli. Drenched in salt. I sent it back and got the med shrimp which was excellent. Management was very apologetic and offered dessert or another side. We declined.
Had to send the Sea Bass back, was undercooked. Service was great.
Service was great, really great! The entree(s), sea bass, weren't quite cooked thru and thru. Desserts were perfect.
We were a little disappointed with our service tonight. The staff was not on their “A” game, including the manager. We will be back and hope for better service next time.
Food was great! Sat on the patio and it was a little cold but other than that, it was a great experience.
It was good and awesome good.
A very nice dinner with excellent food and wonderfully attentive service. But the restaurant was too noisy to give a higher rating.
Music too loud. It made it difficult to have a conversation
This restaurant has been bought out by Landrys. Our server was attentive and friendly. The sommelier seemed knowledgeable. However, the steak was thin and tough as a pork chop. They used to have their own butcher- we were told the meat is now shipped in. Unlike the management from before the changeover, this manager was indifferent and curt about our concerns. Not the top notch restaurant that it once was. Time to find a new favorite place
We visit this location quite often, and I must admit this was the first poor experience I’ve had hear. First, the noise level was excessive. Not because of the chatter of patrons, but the sound system was turned up significantly higher than normal. This high volume made it quite difficult to have conversation at your table, so you would wind up yelling at your seat mates most of the evening.
From a good preparation standpoint, the meal was on point and excellent as always. Our server left a lot to be desired. Prompt greeting and took our appetizer order, but we had actually finished 5 shared apps on a table of 6 before she had actually come back and taken our dinner order. With four of the six patrons enjoying drinks from the bar, it was extremely difficult to get refills. Several times during the evening we actually had to get up and go to the bar to get our own drinks. Took dessert orders, and did not bring coffees and cappuccinos that were ordered.
Traditionally at one point during the meal, a manager stops by and asks about performance. Saw at least three managers that night, and no one stopped by.
Overall a disappointing experience that one wouldn’t expect for the price point you’re paying.
We really enjoyed our meal and the atmosphere. The Filet Medallion and the Nutella Bread Pudding were by far the highlights of our dining experience.
Not sure about menu change.
Great although presentation of chicken wrap was not impressive. Nothing on the plate except half a wrap. We thought it would be a full wrap. Asparagus was on the side. Surely you could have used some garnish.
Great atmosphere. Our waitress was top notch and very informative. The spinach was the best ever. My girlfriend got a free dessert for her birthday. It was the best. It was way more than we expected. Great place.
Food was amazing! Service was impeccable. Great experience!
Lousy service; they got our order wrong and forgot to congratulate my mother on her retirement as I had requested and reminded them when we arrived. My steak was way undercooked and I felt it should have been replaced and not just recooked. We lost time and it lost a lot of the freshness and it came back well done (I saw this as a screw you). I won’t spend money here again. Service was so slow I had to ask for water several times.
The floor manager did a poor job at customer service.
The food was fair, not great, for the price. Our service was also okay, not fantastic. The location of the restaurant is great but we were disappointed
Good meal, nice window table with good view from the second floor. But very noisy. Hard to carry on a conversation with friends without shouting.
the special of the day was one of my favorites- chilean sean bass - however the side dish of Brussels sprouts is not something i like. i asked for a substitution which they could not accommodate. disappointing. i instead ordered the filet, which was just average.
The steak was good. The scallops were also ok but the tomato pesto that they were served with was hiding the taste of scallops. The main annoyance of the evening was the noise level. The music was very loud and we were in the dining room but just next to the bar area. We couldn’t hear each other talk.
Was one of our Family’s favorite places to dine and wanted to give another chance from our last horrible experience.
This visit was not much better, from horrible service to where we were seated. Not sure if they were short handed or the fact that they had just started a new menu.
Good food, good service, deafening volume of noise.
Hard to hear servers, hard to hear companions.
Excessive bar noise. Excessive kitchen noise.
Wedge salad portion was very small across the table. Steak came out medium well despite medium rare. When presented I showed them inside and they tried to make me feel that the steak was ok, but did eventually take it back per my demand. I paid the bill for a group of 6 but did not feel they focused on my needs very well.
There are many restaurants to choose from in Southlake. I wouldn't go back anytime soon. Food was overpriced. We didn't have anything to really complain about, but it wasn't the best experience. Just Ok.
I guess I expect more from the reputation of the "Del Frisco" group. The service was good but not great. I ordered a steak. I thought from my previous experience they would have A1 steak sauce or an equivalent. I do not eat a steak without steak sauce. I guess some patrons like the sauce they offer. I did not. So I could not eat my steak. Most restaurants in the area offer A1 or an equivalent in taste. So I just took my expensive steak home. The fries could have been better from my previous experience but I did not complain. It does not say I would not return to this restaurant, but for what is in the area, it would not be my first choice.
This has been one of our go to restaurants, but the overall experience is not what it has been in the past
- Seated 15 minutes after reservation & the restaurant really has nowhere to wait
- Each time we ordered drinks it took a long time "the bar is backed up"
- The heirloom burrata salad has been a favorite, but the tomatoes were flavorless
- The Chilean Sea Bass Special was excellent
- My daughter's favorite Beef Stroganoff was delicious
- The steak was good - just good- no real sear on it
With a restaurant like Truluck's close by, Del Frisco needs to make some improvements not to lose patrons
We had another great meal here food is always great and the service the same.
Birthday. Good food. Good service. Will be back
Great steaks...love the "crust"...grilled to crisp perfection on the outside, perfect temp inside.
Food was delicious and service was excellent. Enjoyed our family dinner very much!
Wonderful ambiance and excellent food!
