Del Frisco's Grille - Philadelphia

I had the bbq shrimp cobb salad. I wouldn't think to put corn and sunflower seeds on a cobb salad, but ok. The bbq on the shrimp was a bit too salty.
Service and food consistently very good
Service was very slow - waited 45 in to an hour for our entrees. Were told kitchen was backed up. We had two children in our party and were offered bread for the table and received a roll and some butter for 6 people.
We waited over 1 hour for our food and then waited over 30 minutes for the check
Would NEVER return to this location. The food was disgusting, no flavor, ice cold, sent back 2 times. The drinks are water down. The service was mediocre, dirty napkins, no bread came out, for the expensive bill only 2 people it was horrible, was not worth $150, I will never return to this location again if someone treated me. Take some pointers from the main location at 15th Chestnut.
While Del Frisco’s Grille was beautiful and the appetizers were outstanding, there were a few things that have me second guessing if I’ll return. Firstly, there was glass in my drink which luckily I didn’t swallow. Next, my significant others glass was filthy (unsure how the waiter didn’t notice) and my brother had a glob of paper in his drink. While the manager was apologetic, it still didn’t take away the fact these things took place. Also, the food was just ok in my opinion. The truffle Mac & cheese was salty and the steak had too much pepper.
We arrived at our reservation time, @5:45 / pre Theater , we were not given our requested table and location ( in the back a quiet booth for 4) “ oh that’s set up for 5” said the hostess, service was slow/terrible, 2 meals arrived late and cold , to late to reorder or re heat. Manager apologized, but did nothing.. should have taken cold meals off the bill . Had to search out the waiter to pay bill... no time for desert or coffee.. had to run 5 blocks to the theater . We had dined here 3 times in past without problems , Noise level is
A real problem in this place, can hardly have a conversation..
Experience was great. Good environment and food. Our waitress was very attentive and provided exceptional service. Would recommend.
Excellent dinner. Service was great. Beautiful location.
Food was good but waitress brought out the wrong orders for three of the five orders. The vegetarian meal came out with fish and the wrong Belgian waffles were ordered. Very disappointing.
I’ve been here multiple times! I usually have a great experience here, but after watching a show at the Merriam Theater, I made a reservation for my party to come eat after the show. As we were walking in, along with other people from the show, you could see the back of the house staff, the wait staff, everyone, get so annoyed, as if our presence was an inconvenience to them. Which, I really didn’t understand, I’m sure this is not the first time they have had customers walk in late, after a show especially, since the restaurant is located across the street, and we weren’t even walk-ins, we actually made a reservation.
Our waiter, was no different, he seemed annoyed, and he definitely forgot to put in a couple different things we ordered. The food was ran to us, three items were missing and we had to remind him what they were, even though he wrote them all down, so, that was a little confusing. Then, when we wanted to leave (which I’m sure was what they wanted us to do) we couldn’t find the waiter, people were sweeping around us, mind you there were 6 other tables around me with customers.
This recent experience really put a bad taste in my mouth, which is unfortunate because I dine here a lot, and I always recommend my friends and family to come here. I hope the managers and shift leaders take into initiative where they are located and that after shows there is a chance they will get customers around 10 PM... I mean your on the same strip as like 5 theaters...
So yeah, if you want to go here and eat, do so early or you’ll get the attitude and partial service.
We had a nice quieter table in the back room. The bar area and main area are quite loud, so this was a welcomed change. I will have to remember to request it next time, although I only think it’s available when there is a show at the Academy of Musiic or a busy weekend.
The corn bisque was excellent. My entree, Mediterranean shrimp was also quite good, and my husband’s rib eye steak was just as he likes it. Service was just fine.
The problem arose when gnats or some type of small flying insect were constantly flying around our table and food. When one landed in my husband’s wine he wouldn’t finish it. He did not ask for a replacement because he drank most of it but I’m sure they would have replaced it. I guess a few warm days In February was the cause but it still made for a less than stellar dining experience.
It's always difficult to decide what I want to eat - the menu is so diverse and everything sounds delicious! It's a wonderful venue for pre-theatre meals.
Waitress Frankie was excellent and pleasant. I was dining alone but never felt uncomfortable. Food excellent as always, this was not my first visit. Please never remove the artichoke beignets from menu. seated at a perfect small table, everything was wonderful, and I was checked on by more than one floor manager and had a perfect pre theater dinner
Great dinner and very friendly staff!
Always come with grand baby and carriage. This time she tried to put us by the bar and then in middle of room. Ruins it for everyone if he gets antsy. Have nice corner booth way in back that always works. Not this time she didn’t get it. Spot was still empty when we left. Don’t want to ruin for neighbors and can’t stop him from getting a bit Ansy either. Common sense !
The food and the service was very good, a little pricey, but overall a very good experience.
We waited over an hour and never received our entrees. The managers were no help whatsoever. We will never go theresgain
Julia our server was extremely pleasant and attentive. The food was excellent. Our table was perfect. The noise level was acceptable we could hear each other talk. One of our favorite restaurants.
The food and drinks were very good. The truffle Mac and cheese was beyond AMAZING. Our waitress Nanda was very sweet, attentive and energetic. My reservation was for 9 but I came at 8:30 and was seated right away. I can’t wait to go back.
Chase was a great waiter. He gave us great recommendations, and steered us away from some items that he didn't particularly like. The food was delicious as well as the atmosphere. They also had TVs in so I could catch a few glimpses of the NBA All Star Saturday contests. We had a great time. The cheesesteak rolls were delicious.
Be careful that you get the right Del Friscos. We went to the other one on Chestnut first and were late for our reservation.
Food was good; pricing was ok--service a little slow. Bar was crowded, with people standing 2 deep. Noise coming from the bar was inappropriate--and not conducive to a nice, fairly quiet dinner. Some noise is acceptable due to the fact that there is a bar in the middle of the place--but people were screaming and talking over each other, making the noise level really high.
The restaurant was located very convenient to the Merriam Theater where we were headed to see a show. The downstairs seating area is wide open with high ceilings. It was a little noisy but tolerable. You could not ask for better service. Our waitress was very knowledgeable with everything on the menu and very attentive but not obtrusive. The food was incredible, fresh and perfectly cooked. This is a place we will definitely come back to.
Me and my girlfriend had a great time and we will be back
Music too loud and didn't match the atmosphere of valentine's day
Loved this place, food was fantastic
Soup portion was tiny kid-sized. Steaks were just average. Lobster Mac and cheese had microscopic portions of lobster so not worth it. Coconut cream pie was excellent so best to go for dessert only!
Fantastic menu! Wait staff is friendly and professional
Our server Savanna was awesome! She made our experience fantastic!!
Great experience! Outstanding service!!!!
You must get the artichoke beignets. So delicious. Had a marvelous time, would eat here again.
Great decor, food & service were terrific!
Nice spot. Menu was okay. Portions were small for the price.
We used to go to DelFrisco's Grill alot -- we particularly liked the Impossible burger and the goat cheese and jam appetizer. Both have disappeared from the menu. DFG has opted to go with the Perfect Burger, which is not as good as the Impossible burger -- and which is cheaper at Hip City Veg. It's a pleasant, conveniently-located restaurant with okay food, although it gets rather noisy by 7 pm.
Food was delicious but a bit sparse
The location is perfect for having a meal either before or after attending a performance at the Academy of Music. At our last visit, the server was extremely nice but the service was very slow, despite only a few tables occupied. Also, I had asked for my entree to be well done and it was not. I'm not one to send things back, but I had to in this case. I still would recommend the restaurant as the food is good and the atmosphere is nice.
A very good choice near the Kimmel and the Academy of Music.
Overall I thought Del Frisco's was overrated. It came highly recommended, but the service was slow, and the food was nothing to write home about. I ordered steak frites from the lunch menu. The steak was overseasoned (which is a high bar for my palate) and the fries were inedibly soggy and greasy. Time from seating to foodservice was one hour and 7 minutes. For a business lunch, this seemed quite slow.
Good food, reasonable prices. But extremely loud on a Thursday evening.
Thank you so much for your kind note! We love our food too. Our restaurant can definitely get lively, next time let the host team know that you prefer a quieter spot and we will do our best to accommodate.
