Del Frisco's Grille - NYC Ratings and Reviews
We were excited to eat here, but it fell short. My friend and I both got the brick chicken, and our other friend got the kale salad with chicken. The chicken was really dry. Their bread was fresh, and the calamari was great, but our main courses were not worth what we paid for them.
I have been going to Del Frisco's Grille for the past 7 years and love the location, energetic high class atmosphere...The service is excellent, Mike at the Bar is the best...The filet mignon with blue cheese on top and the garlic mash potatoes are great...the drinks aren't too expensive and the fire oven pizza is cheap and fast but tastes great...
If you want a nice dinner you need reservations a few days in advance and if you are having a party of about 12 people the private room is very special....
I love this place and give Del Frisco's Grille the highest recommendation...
We went to Del Frisco's with high expectations due to the name and reviews. This was a special birthday occasion for my wife. I requested a "quiet" table but were seated in the middle of the restaurant in line with the cold draft coming in every time the door opened.
We ordered filet, a New York strip, asparagus, and broccolini. Both vegetables had very tough stalks, which we did not eat. The temperature of the steak as we requested were reversed and the filet my wife ordered was very tough. Quite disappointing.
However the manager did reduce the cost of the steaks, took the vegetables off the tab and offered a dessert on the house. Unfortunately the dessert my wife asked for was not available.
I was very disappointed in the food we ordered a flat bread with prosciutto it was inedible so salty and hard all the food was very very salty the steak was ok not worth the price for sure and it had some kind of rub on it again very salty. the whole place is very overpriced for the food you serve very very disappointed
Went with a girlfriend visiting from Florida. Way too many screaming kids, no xmas decorations, under staffed and food was just ok. There location by Radio City it’s so much better in terms of an adult place to go to enjoy goo food and good conversation for the holidays.
Had a great meal here recently with friends. We were seated immediately at our reservation time. I got the sweet corn bisque and the filet mignon. Delicious!! Two of my friends ordered the Heirloom Tomato & Burrata Salad and said it was amazing. The table also ordered the Prime Beef Short Rib Stroganoff and the Brick Chicken. Everything was cooked just right and flavorful. We finished with the Creme Brulee Cheesecake which was perfect to finish the meal.
The service was perfect and the food was outstanding! The atmosphere was beautiful with wonderful window views of the square. We made reservations ahead of time, which I recommend. I had the steak salad and the kitchen was very quick. The servings were large and very tasty. The service was excellent and our server was very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable.
The restaurant was cold. We asked for the heat to be turned up and the waiter said he would contact the building. Contact the building????? I sat next to the vent. The little air coming out was cool air. I had to dine with my coat over my legs and then over my shoulders. On my way to the ladies room I noticed that the rest of the restaurant was cool too. The service was mediocre, as was the food. I was disappointed in the meal. Especially being Del Frisco’s. I expect more.
I was welcomed and seated immediately. My server was attentive and friendly. I ordered the Brick Chicken and it was delicious. It was tastefully seasoned, well cooked and tender. The sauce was very nice. The potatoes were like home cooking. The asparagus was a large portion. Al though the restaurant was busy, having a reservation was important, but I was not rushed and treated well although I was dining alone. I will return.
Reservation was made 6 plus weeks in advance. Had show/theatre tickets the same evening as part of an early Christmas outing w/ my bride. After 35 minutes of waiting in a crowded/loud/confined area, we told the Mgr and slew of hostesses that we were extremely disappointed w/ the bar crowd that took priority over patrons that actually tried to plan ahead for a great dining experience. We had to leave or we would have missed our ticketed Broadway show. Additionally, this is an extremely poor place to have an intimate dinner due to the loudness all throughout the property. Will never recommend or frequent this establishment again. Cannot even put into words the disappointment we felt.
Del Frisco’s Grille never disappoints! We arrived early and found a seat at the bar. The bar tender made us feel welcome and we decided to forego our table and enjoy lunch at the bar! The deviled eggs were scrumptious and the pizza was perfect. Of course, the highlight was the luscious lemon cake for dessert!
Understandably busy due to Christmas time in Rockefeller Center. We were sat on time for our reservation and our waiter was great! Friendly and knowledgeable. The steak and the wine were outstanding! The Caesar salad was standard and had too much dressing on it. Our drink and appetizer at the bar while waiting for the table were great as well. The bartender could have been nicer and more hospitable. Instead he seemed annoyed by how busy the restaurant and bar was, which is odd since bartenders earn a living from tips. We will go back for the fantastic rib eye!
We waited over half an hour for our reservation. We were seated in front of a door that kept swinging open and blowing a gale force wind at us at a table that was still stuffy. We asked to be moved which we were but we weren’t brought water without asking and I had to ask for bread to which the waitress begrudgingly brought it to me. The food was ok. Not nearly as good as the steakhouse. The service was terrible. I shouldn’t have to make 30 minutes for a reservation to get a dirty table. I won’t be back.
We had a 7:45 reservation on Tuesday, December 5th, 2017. We arrived almost an hour early and were told it would be very quick since some people canceled due to rain/weather.
After 45 minutes, our table still wasn't ready. We didn't go to the bar for a drink thinking it would be quick, but it was not.
I had been to this establishment many times before and never experienced this kind of chaos. I had also been during the height of the holidays. In retrospect, I would choose the alternate location and take a taxi to see the tree at Rockefeller Plaza.
I know this is a busy time, but to be told we didn't have to wait (an hour early) for our table and it was going to be ready within 15 minutes, they missed out on us having a drink or two at the bar, as well as having us waiting for our name to come up. Please do not tell your customers they will be seated right away an hour earlier and have it over an hour and a half later to be seated.
Big Fan in Past
We come here fairly often when in that part of the city.
The food never disappoints and the service is great.
My only negative is that they never seem prepared for the holiday season even though they are situated right in Rockefeller Plaza.
There is always a 30 minute wait even with a reservation.
Unfortunately for us, this time that 30 minutes was the difference between drizzling rain and pouring rain, so we weren't able to enjoy the sights after dinner.
I commend the young ladies working the frenetic reservation stand for their patience and tolerance of irate tourists and inebriated business people. :-)
Overall, I would absolutely recommend and we will be back again and again.
It was crazy busy, which was expected....even though we got seated 30 minutes after our original reservation time, all was good. The Hostesses were extremely professional and friendly despite the insane frontdoor rush and activity...p.s-the sweet potato fries were terrific.....the regular fries were cooked with no thought or regard to quality or presentation, and simply served as a soggy mess and sadly non edible .... P
Daughter and I both had filet mignon with sides of veggies. Both steaks ordered medium, yet mine was much rarer than hers. She complained that steak was overly seasoned with pepper, even with the bairnaise sauce on it. Broccolini was good and asparagus was tasteless, and even though we both like crisp veggies, both under-cooked.
We have both been to the Del Frisco Grill in TX. We think the standards lower at this location perhaps because it is in middle of tourist area...There are other steakhouses in NY to spend your money at.
