Del Frisco's Grille - McKinney Ave - Uptown Ratings and Reviews
Hostess and manager were completely clueless. Waited 35 minutes to be seated because of manager Lori and hostess who blamed open table for the confusion..the hostess claimed the restaurant had been having trouble with open table..our requested table 5 minutes before we arrived.
Food and service not up to par and inconsistent. Not something one would expect from a Del Frisco's family Restuarant. Several things were removed from our bill, but it shouldn't have come to that in the first place. Too many good restuants in Dallas...will certainly pause before returning.
Don't go for lunch unless you have unlimited time and are good with ok food at an upscale place. I had a reservation for 11:45 am and upon arrival was told there would be a wait for a table as "some parties were lingering". the mgr later explained the problem was caused by outside reservations having to be moved indoors because of rain. I get that but You would think the upstairs would have opened for extra seating. Likewise there were no extra servers so not sure what happened to them. Made the whole explanation not add up. We had a time constraint and was told we could sit at the bar as it would be quicker. It still took over 30 minutes to get soup, sandwiches and side salads (one course). We had 10 minutes to eat. I asked for a to go box which was never received. The food was ok, not great, but not aligned with price. Very disappointed with entire experience.
Hostess made us wait 20 minutes for a table even when we had a reservation. She said we did not an the manager confirmed we did. The managers on duty were amazing and made the overall experience so much better. This is one of my favorite places to dine and I was introducing others to the establishment for the first time. The food more than made up for the inconvenience of the inept hostess.
We all ordered brunch on Sunday. Crabcake benedict was very flavorful as was the artichoke beignets. The sweet basil dressing accompanied the beignets and it was delicious. Restaurant was a little loud, but could still carry on a conversation at the table. Waitstaff was outstanding.
Our service was great, however people that were walk-ins we're getting say before us even though we made a reservation. By the time it was our turn to be seated, there were no good seats left. We were taken upstairs in a corner on a high table 2 top in no man's land. I believe this as a result set the Dow fall for the evening. Our server Amanda was great, however when we ordered or wine (white wine) it arrived warm. Not just warm but rather hot as though the wine is not stored at a temperature even red wine should be stored at. It also arrived corked and was foul tasting. Afterwards our 3 appetizers arrived. All cold (sans the beet dish because it should be). It's rather difficult to enjoy beignets that are cold and mushy. Our entrees also arrived cold, my shaved prime steak sandwich was overcooked and just have been sitting for a bit prior to it arriving in front of me because the supposed crisped bread reaembled something more like bread pudding after absorbing all the steaks juice. Like I said other than our server Amanda, this meal was more than forgettable. I do not recommend coming on a weekend, even if it was a slow night due to the cold. Very subpar considering how lovely other Del Frisco’s locations are
Made the reservation with a request for a romantic table, it was Saturday night so I do understand but I we were next to the kitchen in the back. Noisy. Service was sub-par, stuck up servers, ....
less than 10 minutes after ordering our steaks were dropped in front of us, naked plate, only the steak, we were not offered or brought even bread... two bowls of mashed potatoes arrive a minute later, dropped off by runners, no butter, no sour cream... nothing... they were dry.
Steak was cooked fine, as expected, I pay $50 for a $24 piece of prime beef I expect it to be as ordered. It was VERY over seasoned, salty!!!!
I doubt I would return, my first trip to a Del Frisco's, I've heard the hype, I've tried... they failed. There are too many other options in Dallas to waste time with this place. The service is what really sets this place off as off-putting, from the moment you walk in.... add to that the over seasoned steak...forget it
We went for brunch - amazing brunch offering (food & cocktails). Our table started with cheesesteak eggrolls, and brunched on crabcake benedicts, chicken & waffles. So, they definitely have a variety from health conscious to comfort food. Everything was delicious.
As far as ambiance, it's upscale casual. It's packed with power suit lunches during the week, and special occasions on the weekend.
The service was fantastic - our server was very attentive and had great suggestions on the menu. Very pleased.
I was overall not please with my experience. It was intended to be a special occasion and our waiter initially left us unattended for quite some time. Then when he came over his delievery on the menu items was horrible, he proceeded to make side conversation about where the food was from which was prolonged and unnecessary. He then left for another extended amount of time, without taking any appetizer order or bringing us water. It basically drained the positive vibe my date and I had down. Eventually he placed our appetizer and order in the system.
We had to ask a manager to bring us someone else to serve us for the night, that server did extremely well for the remaining time we were in the facility.
When my steak was brought out, it was very undercooked they took it back to the kitchen (placed it in the broiler) and brought it back at the right temp but the outter part was charred on both sides. I eventually gave up on the overall service but went along so my date could have a good time but for the money I spent, McDonalds would have given me an overall better experience, I was so embarrassed in front of my date.
I will try this place again in the future but so far I dont have many positive things to say, based on my first experience.
It was good to get out of the office, however I was a bit upset when my party ordered water and were charged for Italian flat water. We did receive the bottled water and thought it was included, but we did not order it and were charged $14 for the two bottles. So, going forward, I just need to make sure that we get what we truly ordered and will just take our business elsewhere.
We chose Del Frisco's Grille to celebrate my daughter's birthday. Food was above average, but service was lacking. Lots of people walking and talking, not much service or attention delivered. Clearly a management and training issue. Wasn't the memorable night we had planned. Will only remember we overpaid for bad service when the credit card bill arrives in 30 days..
We went for Thanksgiving dinner. In addition to their regular menu they had a three-course prix fixe turkey dinner with all the fixings and a wonderful dessert choice. For a low-carb choice, the steak salad is always a winner. Our server, Brandon, was very accommodating and attentive.
Very disappointing experience and we discovered why it’s so easy to get a table there. Steaks were ordered medium and medium rare. One came out well done and the other came out medium well and it took 5 minutes to get a waiters attention. When they corrected this the steak was medium rare in a thin pink stripe but well done otherwise. Very disappointing for a place with steakhouse roots. Waiter would walk away after one person asked for something and not look to the rest of the table. Received our dessert without utensils and the waiter never came back despite asking another waiter to get him. Will not be coming back despite very good sides and dessert.
