Del Frisco's Grille - McKinney Ave - Uptown Ratings and Reviews
Always a good choice for a business lunch. Easy to make a reservation and the menu has a variety of options. Parking is Valet or the garage behind the building so it's easier to meet at than most Uptown restaurants. I'm not personally a fan of the food as I find it a bit heavy, but most of my business associates like it and the service is good.
No more lemon cake for two! The lemon cake has always been the top dessert at Del Friscos and Del Friscos Grille. It used to be luscious and huge, big enough for two people to share (also the most expensive dessert). We were really disappointed when we dined at Del Frisco's Grille this weekend and the lemon cake, although still yummy, is only half the size now (with the same high price). We can get good burgers and steaks a lot of places, but the lemon cake was a big draw. I guess it isn't anymore. And even though the service is not as bad as it has gotten at Del Frisco's (new location is horrible) there is no longer any special recognition for Rare Rewards members at either one. So sad.
We haven't been here in a while because the food was never that great, but it had been a while so we thought we'd give it another chance. The food was just not good. It wasn't even worth complaining about because everything we ordered was substandard. We just won't be going back. It's unfortunate because we did like the waitress and they have a nice patio.
Dinner was great. Their corn soup was amazing. The cheesesteak egg rolls were also good. For dinner we had the meatloaf for my husband and the stroganoff for myself. It was good. The only thing about the stroganoff is that the noodles were slightly too dry. Waitress was wonderful. We sat outside on a beautiful patio. The noise inside was too much for us but the patio was gorgeous!
This restaurant needs a lot of help. We asked for a particular red wine on the list and it was not available. We were told a bottle that was half the price of the one we ordered was a great substitute. Sorry it was horrible. When we asked for a particular Chardonnay we were told that it was unavailable. The substitute was not what was expected. Two people ordered Filets. One was passable but not great. The other was horrible. It was tough and grizzly and completely unexceptable. One person ordered the fish. It was undercooked. The sauce was wonderful however. It was not an enjoyable evening to say the least. We will try somewhere else next time.
The place was pretty empty on a Friday evening at 6 PM, which is surprising for Uptown. Our drinks order took close to 10 minute to be brought to our table which was too long for how empty the place was. We ordered an appetizer of Deviled Eggs and they looked and tasted as if they had been prepared a few days earlier and then kept in the refrigerator, they definitely weren't freshly prepared. My cheeseburger and fries were good but my wife's Brick Chicken was tough and the Brocollini was under cooked. We won't go back. We don't understand why Del Frisco's would put their name on this establishment!
Mick was our waiter, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Cocktails were nice, wine list was creative and ample for the fare. I would go back again if in the area. As one of Del Frisco's 'Grille' formats it is worth a visit. You won't be disappointed. It is also a little more casual than the 'upscale version' but food is very comparable.
Expected much more from place with "Del Frisco's" in name. Artichoke appetizer was way overcooked to the extent there was barely any flesh to extract from the leaves. Burgers were well prepared, but food came out to table way too quickly. Won't be returning anytime soon, unfortunately. Had higher expectations.
This place has generally been a very solid, dependable lunch spot, however, my most recent experience did not meet expectations. The cheesesteak eggrolls were overcooked and were swimming in sauce. The steak salad is usually great, but was underdressed and dry, and the steak was not nearly as good as the last couple of visits.
I have always heard about this restaurant, but hearing about them and going actually going put this restaurant in a league of it's own. From Parking to Dinner the Service was on Point!!!! Del Drisco on McKinney is the Bomb! Thank you for a job well done on V-Day and I look forward to seeing you again soon.
I recantly took my daughter and wife to Del Friscos for valentines, the meal was amazing, but the manager made an extra special effort to make our 8 year old feel special on Valentines. She went above and beyond! Because the service was so amazing we will absolutely be back.... sonner rather than later.
We tried this place for the first time over the weekend, and really enjoyed it! The service was great.. manager and waiter both very attentive. We had the Cheesesteak egg rolls, which tasted awesome as well as the porkchop and the shaved prime steak sandwich. Would definitely recommend!
Loved the steak salad and brick chicken, and Caleb was a great server, and attentive. The proximity of a 10 top of drunk, shouting, guys, and an 8 top on either side of us made dining conversation impossible. Atmosphere of a sports bar on what should have been a quiet Monday night. So, is it a bar with great food, or a restaurant with a great bar? Needs to decide
