Tony and Katie at the bar make this place worthwhile.
I arrived and explained that one of my friends was delayed in traffic. Upon entry at 6:30pm unapologetically, I was told that if they were not there within 15 minutes, our table would be given up. I actually live and traveled from Manhattan to meet friends. Thinking that this was NJ and less than half full, I was hoping for less attitude. Let’s just say there was no “hospitality” in “hostess”. I immediately looked for a table in the bar to avoid confrontation and further negotiation. Between the sommelier, bartenders, and manager, we could not ask for more hospitable service or a better view. Cocktails arrived immediately and were perfect. Wine list was reasonable and recommendation was spot on. The food was very good. Although no one wanted fried food, there was a fork fight over the egg rolls. The crab cake is basically all crab and delicious. Unfortunately, I ordered the beef stroganoff. All I can say is that the chef should change the name of this dish. I have traveled to Russia and this is not even close. Dry short rib with dry pappardelle does not qualify. It was not good and did not even resemble the description of this dish. Sorry, but very disappointing. We also ordered the scallops, which was a big hit and the steak house salad, which had a lot going on for it and every bit of it, great. Molten chocolate cake, was as described. In the end, we would go back, but only to the bar. I would never sit in an unwelcoming dining room. For three people sitting at a bar table with tip we spent well over $400 because we ordered terrific wine. Recommendation, train your front of house people better. If my friend was not late, I would not have even stayed.
Took husband there for a birthday dinner. Food was delicious. The highlight for me was the Ahi tuna tacos and truffle mac and cheese. We went with the featured wine. Sooooo delicious and priced well. They brought out a nice birthday dessert for husband, nice touch.
The new brunch menu is amazing! So happy they are now serving brunch on Saturdays as well as Sunday. The new Bloody Mary recipe is the best. Loved everything.
Very professionally run place most of the time. On this occasion not so much. Steak was way overdone but returned 15 minutes later with it cooked right. One thing that was disturbing and that was food tickets placed on good and examined and put right back by a number of food Runners. Not at all cool. Thanks
Brunch on Saturday. We came in for lunch but found out they are now offering brunch on Saturdays. Our server gave us recommendations on the new menu. Lemon ricotta pancakes and croque madam were fantastic. We tried new cocktails which were wonderful. Great addition to the menu.
The location was great. But, we were very disappointed with the service. We like other Del Frisco locations. Not sure we will return to this one.
The food was good and Sam, our waiter, was nice and attentive, but It took a few attempts to get water without ice when we sat at the table, and in the end we only got 2 glasses out of 5 ... while in the others the ice had melted by then.
Something like this goes against the basic principle of hospitality that the glass of water represents in US restaurants.
Also, fries are not the forte of this restaurant. Pick some other side.
Steak was great ! This is a great place for family and friends to get together, they also
Have a very unique but enticing menu
They need to hire more servers for busy Sunday brunch. They are overwhelmed. It took a while to get seated even though we had reservations as they were setting up the table. It was an awful table at a slope so we asked to be moved to a booth. Bread didn't come until our meal was served. Slow refill with drinks. They realized they gave us the wrong check after running the charge with the credit card and had to be amended.
At least food is exceptional and it's a great space, but they need to be more equiped to handle the busy brunch crowd.
Too many things were unacceptable for an institution of this caliber; please know I've eaten at pretty much every Del Friscos in the country and never felt strongly about critizing them until now. Made a reservation and still waited 10mins to be seated, ordered their most expensive ribeye and received an unseasoned, ungrilled chunk of meat thrown on a plate, mashed potatoes remained practically untouched as I don't eat sawdust, and to top it off I watched one of the chefs put her whole gloved hand in her mouth to taste whatever she was cooking and then proceeded to handle food without washing - gross. The service was very good, but I can almost guarantee we will not return. Better dining options elsewhere.
Great place we really enjoyed the ambiance and the food the prices were very reasonable.
Excellent service! The food was unique and delicious !!
Great food and service.
Food was great, wine selection was great. Not cheap but that’s to be expected... atmosphere left a tiny bit to be desired but all in all definitely a thumbs up.
Our server Raven was energetic and friendly. Love the new menu items especially the scallops and beignets . Also tried the Wagyu steak special which was exceptional. Despite it being packed two managers came around to check on everyone.
Went to celebrate birthday and get prime rib. Had 7p reservation but was seated early (good). Luckily mentioned interest in prime rib as got last 2 servings. This was surprising for such an early reservation, and the cuts reflected that, being fatty and not cooked as ordered (more medium than medium rare)
nice atmosphere, good service, great drinks and delicious food.
Our waitress Sam was awesome !!! The steak and everything just wonderful. We will be back. Thank you for making my husbands birthday special! Denise
Chilly. Bland food. Negligible service.
Food was AMAZING and the drinks were delicious as well. I personally didn’t find much on the menu that I would order but what I did order was fabulous
It was great, my girlfriends and I went out for dinner and drinks on Valentines day. they server was pleasant, and they got us in and out.
I dine here often and I’m always pleased with the food and the servers. Just a great spot!
The only complaint I have was that there was no host to greet us. We waited there for about 10 mins before my boyfriend went to find a host. The waiter was great and the food was delicious.
Always a great place to go in Hoboken!
My friends and I dined here on Sat. When reserving our table I was under the impression that brunch was both days (Sat and Sun as most restaurants are) but that was not the case. Once we were seated I noticed we only got lunch menus so I went to ask the hostess if we could get brunch menus and that's when we found out brunch was only on Sundays?
We all decided to stay and try the lunch menu even though we had reviewed only the brunch menu. We were also disappointed to learn that the Bloody Mary carafe is also only available at brunch. We were still able to order them at lunch but they were just the glass sizes and did not come with the plate of garnish that the carafes come with. There were plenty of options for starters so we chose several for the table followed by 2 mains and several cocktails throughout. The portions were great (we were 5 total) and had plenty to go around. We tried the Cheesesteak Eggoll, Artichoke Beignets, Truffled Mac & Cheese, Deviled Eggs and the Lollipop Chicken Wings to name a few. We also had a few Bloody Mary's and the Blueberry Cucumber Gimlet. The Blueberry Cucumber Gimlet was exceptional! For our mains, we shared the Fish Tacos and the Hand Shaved Prime Steak.
Overall the experience was great. Our server was friendly and helpful especially in suggesting drinks, starters. Our food came out on time and was well prepared.
The dishes that stood out were the Artichoke Beignets (which were more like fritters as I'm from New Orleans and know a beignet), the Cheesesteak Eggrolls (didn't think this combo could work but they pulled it off), the Truffled Mac & Cheese and our dessert, a large piece of the Lemon Doberge cake, it was heavenly.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking to have a nice lunch with friends or family, big groups or small parties on a Saturday. I would also ask Del Frisco's Grille to consider having brunch on both days with the lunch option to give people a chance to try either.
Not a good place for a romantic date night. There were so many kids everywhere. Disappointed this was where I picked for an early vday celebration. Food was good although my fish came out raw.
Great experience as always. Great food and service
Food was good. Went early even though we had reservations. Waiter was comical and made good suggestions. Will return
Great spot for a large group. Sat the 8 of us with no problem. Not too crowded on a Monday evening, which certainly helped from a service perspective. High marks for the sweet corn bisque and the heirloom tomato and burrata salad. The latter was incredibly fresh tasting and perfectly oiled. Steaks were flavorful and prepared as requested. Truffled Mac and cheese and the charred broccoli with honey tahini were great sides. Good wine list, albeit NYC prices in Hoboken, with some decent options sub-$100. No large format bottles though, which would have been preferred for such a large group.
Have been there 3 times and each time the steaks are undercooked. Sent them back and they fixed them. We always give them another chance but wish they would get it right from the start.
Restaurant was Great !!!! Especially for Restaurant week. Me and my co workers work about 2 miles away and we just had to catch this great opportunity to try this awesome event !! Food was great ! Our table was split between every single course tried to open our options especially the entrees worth every single one in our table especially the braised pork shank it was excellent. Service was great our server Lilly was very attentive ! Def. stopping by again soon !
Our table had a draft and the waitress gladly accommodated our wishes and move us! It was a nice experience.
I love this restaurant. I discovered it in October while they were running a promotion donating a percentage of sales to hurricane relief efforts. The food is delicious and the service wonderful.
The restaurant was running a little behind, but it wasn't that bad. Our first time to this restaurant, it was very busy & crowded. Our server Natalie was very nice, she was sweet & explained the menu items we wanted to know about.
This is my favorite restaurant in Hoboken. The quality of the food, wine, service and atmosphere is consistently of a high standard. I love how every member of staff make you feel welcome and ensure that your experience is exceptional.
It's a HUGE, casual restaurant that can accommodates large groups. It was a super busy night when we went but was accommodated to our table right away since we had a reservation. Instead of ordering A La Carte, we decided to do restaurant week 3 course menu for $40 per person. The food was good but my entree took about an hour to come out since the kitchen was backed up. The minute I was about to lose my patience, the food came out. (Thank God) The service was great and I had nothing bad to say about the service we've received. The parking was hard to find so we decided to park in the structure for $17 for 2 hours. The moment we came out from parking and walking towards the restaurant, that's when we saw all these empty parking spots in the street. (Talking about timing) The view all around was beautiful. With all NYC skylines and water, I'm starting to love New Jersey even more and more each day. They even have a small pier/bridge where you can take some good pictures of NYC. I would probably go again near the area to try out different restaurants nearby prior to dining here again.
Everything was excellent except the men’s room was filthy and the sink faucet didn’t work.
Super delish burger with Gorgonzola. So nice to see the skyline while dining
Foo was great, drinks are awesome, service on point. Had a Great time all around.
