Del Frisco's Grille - DC Ratings and Reviews
Service was very good. The restaurant was very nice to recognize my friend’s birthday and give him a hand written card. The eggrolls were the worst I have had from Del Frisco’s Grille. Scallops were subpar. Did not taste fresh. I ordered the Lemon Sole and was unaware that it was battered with an egg and came out looking and tasting like an omelet. A $35 omelet. Less than impressed. Will not return.
Service was horrendous!! Waited at table fir 10 minutes before our server came over. Was told we had to ask for bread for table if we wanted it, meanwhile other tables received it I’m sure without asking. Really at these prices I have to ask for bread??? Potatoes were cold and hard assparagus under cooked! Overall experience very disappointing !!
My cup of corn chowder was perfect on a cold, snowy evening. The Steakhouse salad was good. The filet meat was cooked as requested but there was a little more dressing on the salad than I would have preferred. Next time, I will know to order it on the side. Our server was attentive and pleasant.
Our server was excellent for service, warm, pleasant, helpful and had good recommendation and information about the flatbreads and the desserts.
Only sorry I didn't commit his name to memory so I could mention him specifically.
The our hostess had a great presence. The additional staff who helped with serving were efficient and nice as well.
If it could possibly be quieter, it would be a plus. Conversation was strained, often drowned out by the table for 4/6? across from the booth tables. Tuna salad was great but difficult to converse.
However our server was outstanding! And the Hostess checked on our service.
The food was good, but given the level of service, the food was overpriced. We arrived about 30 minutes before our reservation to grab a glass of wine at the bar, and it took more than 10 minutes for a bartender to even acknowledge that we sat down and to get a drink menu. Our server for dinner was very personable and upbeat, but forgot to order my friend's drink after taking her order on two separate occasions. He finally figured out the problem and frantically ran over to the computer to place the drink order. We also sat down for dinner at 6:30pm and informed the server that we needed to leave by 7:40pm to catch a show at National Theater, which he said was no problem. However, we didn't receive our food until after 7:30pm after flagging our server down--an hour later. I understand that kitchen's can get busy, and I have worked in restaurants, but an hour wait time for food especially when we told our server we needed to be out by 7:40pm is just not really accepted given the quality level that the restaurant claims to have. We even had to ask for our checks. I don't mind paying a higher price for food as long as the service is good, but given the number of restaurants in DC that have bars, wine lists, and good steak, I'm not inclined to go back.
I can't say enough good things about our anniversary dinner here. The romantic tone was set by a free glass of champagne to toast our special day. Over the course of two hours, we enjoyed one delicious plate after the next, we never felt rushed, and even though the restaurant was packed, the noise level was surprisingly low and I felt like we could enjoy a private conversation without having to raise our voices. To round out our evening, the manager comp'd our dessert for the special occasion. We felt supremely well taken care of and enjoyed every minute of our date night. Thank you to Del Frisco's for making the night so special! I highly recommend this restaurant and plan on going back soon!
We meant to book at the other Del Friscos in City Center but found ourselves at this more casual venue. The server was extremely friendly and attentive. I received a birthday card and dessert and that was super sweet. Our food was brought out in a timely fashion and we would return another time with friends!
The food and ambiance were wonderful but the service was abysmal. It took forever to even order a drink and then a kind waiter felt badly that our waitress was not waiting on us so he took our order, and the food arrived before the drink! She should not be a waitress. But I would go back and be sure she did not wait on us!
We have frequented this restaurant due to its proximity to the Capital Steps, the Warner and the National Theaters. It makes it convenient to have dinner before a show. We particularly like it in the summer when they have a lovely and large outdoor seating area. This evening's dinner was OK. I had the Brick Chicken and my husband had the stroganoff. The Brick chicken was a little on the dry side and the potatoes that are hand mashed had an unusual aftertaste. My husband said his meal was good but not great. We received a free dessert because the waitress overheard that it was my birthday. We had lots of time to spare but the staff did not know that and our service seemed slow. The table next to us came in well after us and got their dinner only minutes after we did. We expected better.
Del Frisco’s did not disappoint! Warm and relaxing atmosphere, a great place for a date night. Our server was so attentive and delightful. The menu selection was somewhat limited, we ordered the Salmon and Fillet Mignon which was okay. We really enjoyed the White Sangria.
First of all, our server, Raven, was excellent. Not only did she make a fantastic drink recommendation but she was friendly and knowledgeable and went out of her way to "wow" us with service above and beyond.
Our group shared a bunch of items to make up our meal. Here's the rundown. The cheesesteak eggrolls were pretty tasty (pricy for what you get but delicious). I would definitely skip the guac & chips. Lacked flavor and a really small serving (not that I minded since it wasn't particularly good). The tomato and burrata salad was delightful - from the tomatoes to the flavorful dressing to the creamy burrata, it was all around tasty goodness. The mushroom flatbread tasted good but the crust was tough and so chewy you couldn't cut it with a knife or bite into it without looking like a caveman. A+ for flavor but D+ for texture. Finally the truffle mac & cheese was quite good.
I tried 2 different cocktails and both were excellent - the VIP martini and the pomegranate margarita, neither on the sugary sickly sweet side, just right.
This restaurant is close to National Theater so it was an easy location to have dinner & drinks before the show.
