Del Frisco's Grille - DC Ratings and Reviews
My husband’s birthday dinner. There were four of us snd we ordered the scallops, the chicken, the sole, and the stroganoff. I usually order the ahi tacos for an appetizer but forgot to take a photo. Everything was delicious. We managed to share the generous slice of the lemon cake, a molten lava cake and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Fabulous. Service was excellent - attentive without being overly solicitous. We’ll be back for another occasion!
Sorely disappointed. I have been to Del Frisco’s Grille -DC for numerous happy hours but yesterday’s lunch was a grave disappointment. The steak egg rolls appetizer was extremely salty. And with regard to the flatbread pizza - it was ‘unappealing ‘. I unfortunately must admit that I’ve had better from a food truck. I doubt that I will patronize this location again.
Not a good experience! We went for NY's Eve dinner and it was a disappointing experience. My filet had to be sent back to the kitchen three times, after which point I gave up! Asked for a new meal (lemon sole) which was only average. My husband's salmon was only average as well. My daughter had a steak that was overcooked but she didn't want to return it since she was starving. What a sad disappointment -- truly dismayed in Del Frisco's performance that night. Will not return.
Nice location. The first, second, and third tables where host tried to seat us were unacceptable, but we eventually got a good one in the less-than-half full restaurant. Cocktails were good. My partner really liked the ribeye. Both her and my steaks were under-done, but, very wisely, the server asked us to cut the meat when served to judge for ourselves, and we sent them back for a few more minutes. Most steak places don't have the sense to do that. The sweet Ppotato frites were outstanding. And the large coconut cream pie was enough for two people and excellent. Fellow diners were mostly dressed down, even though the spot is at 12th and Penn. It could have been a sports bar in College Park instead of a (possibly) fancy place across from the Trump International Hotel, which looked gorgeous through the window wall of the restaurant. But it did not spoil a very nice dinner.
Went for dinner on New Years Eve prior to seeing a show at the National Theatre. They were having a special Prix Fixe menu for the holiday which included a Champange Toast. Both my date and I were very impressed by all of the courses in taste, selection, and quantity. It made for a wonderful evening, and we’ll definitely keep Del Frisco’s in mind any time we’re in the area.
The restaurant had no heat on a 20 degree day. The hostess did not tell us when we arrived we were told after we were seated and had ordered drinks. It was freezing in the restaurant and the food was mediocre and the service was too. We wil not begiing back.
We wanted something close to National Theater, and this had a varied menu and was only a couple blocks away. Service was great, quick and friendly and our meals were exactly as expected. Try the coconut cream pie! Would definitely recommend as pre theater meal.
I arrived as two herds were waiting to be seated - big holiday lunches! I was very pleased to have a table by the kitchen so it was fun watching the comings and goings of the food so I could ask our waitress about them. After watching meals go by I decided on the fish and chips - wow, very good, everything beautifully seasoned and crispy, loved it. My friend had the steak sandwich that she had had recently and loved and she said this was also excellent again, with parmesan fries. The sound level IS "energentic" but it was still fairly easy to have a conversation. Had a great experience and will be back soon!
Service was very good. The restaurant was very nice to recognize my friend’s birthday and give him a hand written card. The eggrolls were the worst I have had from Del Frisco’s Grille. Scallops were subpar. Did not taste fresh. I ordered the Lemon Sole and was unaware that it was battered with an egg and came out looking and tasting like an omelet. A $35 omelet. Less than impressed. Will not return.
Service was horrendous!! Waited at table fir 10 minutes before our server came over. Was told we had to ask for bread for table if we wanted it, meanwhile other tables received it I’m sure without asking. Really at these prices I have to ask for bread??? Potatoes were cold and hard assparagus under cooked! Overall experience very disappointing !!
My cup of corn chowder was perfect on a cold, snowy evening. The Steakhouse salad was good. The filet meat was cooked as requested but there was a little more dressing on the salad than I would have preferred. Next time, I will know to order it on the side. Our server was attentive and pleasant.
