The food is delicious!
Please try the ribs
It was a late dinner on a Thursday night, so the restaurant wasn’t busy but the service was still very slow. The menu was quite limited also, typical salmon and steak options. Great drinks.
Ordered 3 steaks. All undercooked. Server also forgot one side. Manager baited and bought desserts for the table but steaks are their "specialty" and we're really undercooked. I expected better for the price.
Overall my experience was fine but our waitress never came back to fill drinks ask if we needed anything . She only came back for the bill and right before that did we want coffee or a bloody Mary .
Arrived early for reservations and seated promptly outside where we wanted to be. Quick and excellent service and the food was everything and more than we expected.
Not sure what was going on but it took an hour to bring out a salad and some salmon. No one told us what was going until we asked and made an issue. The claim was the salmon wasn't prepared right in the morning. Realky?? They suddenly got very nice and accommodating afterwards and the food was very good when it finally came but still! We saw multiple people come and go while we were there. Unacceptable. Maybe if someone told us what was going on that would have helped.
Everything was over cooked , side came out when I was almost done! Overpriced and quality was not there.
The music was VERY loud and not good music—not at all relaxing. We asked for it to be turned down, off, changed and Clark a manager did his best but it was still not relaxing. The food was good but pricey. I would try a DC restaurant rather than this chain next time!
Service was great. Bathroom was not cleaned and concerning. Burger itself was tasteless.
I would definitely go back for the food. The service was pretty slow, 2 hours and 45 minutes for two of us to eat dinner, but it may have been because they had a large party at the same time. The drinks were great!
A very comfortable and elegant dining room and excellent service. Food was superb, but the steaks are overpriced.
Our party of three all ordered the same kale and brussels sprouts salad. After waiting about 20 minutes, the waiter returned and indicated that the kitchen was out of kale and that a substitute could be provided. This information should have been provided when we were seated or no later than prior to placing our order.
Birthday dinner was awesome. Great service
We ate outside it was very pleasant. It was a bit load inside. The food and service was wonderful!
the service and food were, as always, excellent. i am always pleased to take clients/colleagues to Del Frisco's Grille. Clark, our waiter, was great - just the right amount of attentiveness.
Terrible experience I cannot believe they have the Del Frisco's name 7 out of a party of 12 sent thier steaks back the steaks were either overcooked or just raw. The Filet mignon was fatty and grissle low grade cuts. We had to ask for the manager and we refused to pay for the food sent back. Even the bread was frozen in the middle the vegetables weren't cooky correctly which explains why the place was empty whatever you do stay away I even wrote Del Frisco's cooperate how bad it was I have been to most locations and never felt like this
Great service but food wasn’t quite seasoned enough for my liking.
Host was rude to my wife. Out of the steak and wine I ordered. Steak I got was chewier than expected. The waitress was great!
I was delighted with the service, food, and ambiance at the Del Frisco Grill. I had no idea one could get a fabulous meal for such a great value right in the heart of Wash., D.C. Our server was simply fantastic- at no time did we need anything that he didn't see to in seconds- and he was one of the most pleasant and engaged waiter I have had in a long time. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant and plan to return regularly.
We arrived late (due to an accident and traffic) but were seated right away. The service was great and the food came out quicker than expected which helped us get our schedule back on track. The NY steak was pretty darn good. Overall the food was great and service exceeded my expectations. I will definitely return.
best sangria ever! great spot, really enjoy the apps - best pre-show spot for warner theater
Service was off the charts. Nice menu with value. Casual with a happy hour crowd. Wife enjoyed the mushroom flatbread and I loved the Fish n chips. Started with the wedge salad. You won't leave hungry. Great stop after touring.
We had two very good entrée salads for a business lunch, and we had a relatively quiet table to conduct our discussion. Will go back whenever I can.
On a date night with my wife, I chose Del Frisco's Grill. We were greeted with a disgruntled host. He wasn't friendly and he was complaining to a co-worker about something. He escorted us to the table and was less than friendly or engaging. The waitress was great and friendly. The steaks we're good but the price was high for the quality. The sides we're plain and mine were barely cooked broccoli, cold with some ok sauce on it. It would have been better if they were cooked and warm. My wife did get the only unique side which was beets and goat cheese. Less than a fantastic experience for the value.
I have been going here for years and feel that after the last few meals the quality of the food has substantially declined. I’ve had a variety of menu items lately and none were delicious, all just passable which is not how I felt previously. As this is an expensive place for lunch, I expect more.
Delicious food!! Loved the baked cheese appetizer. I posted pics on FB and the next day 2 of my friends ate there on my recommendation. I wasn’t crazy about the music that was playing but other than that it was fabulous!
It depends on what you are looking for. This isn't a romantic date night kind of place, but for my husband and I and our two teenage boys it was a good place to go before a show at the National Theatre. TV's with sports games are prominent. The wine we chose was not available but it took the server three trips to the table and 15 minutes to figure that out. Our appetizer was good (cheesesteak eggrolls), but it took 25 minutes to arrive. The food was well prepared and my steak was perfectly rare, but there was no option for bernaise sauce or a red wine reduction, etc. Supposedly the chef was going to make some (takes like 5 minutes), but then I was told that they were "out" of it. It's butter, egg, tarragon...what were they out of? Anyway, the food was good and they were very pleasant about everything, just not on the ball in my opinion.
Good service and good food
The hostesses need more experience and better attitudes when determining where to seat people. Also, a lesson on how to use Open Table would be good for them too.
The food was mediocre, they literally did not have enough clean cutlery, bad service... just a bad experience all around.
Very Slow and my food came out cold by the time it got to us. The fries looked good when they went by our table but were so soggy they were almost inedible. My steak was okay at best, and at 50 dollars I expect more then that.
One of my favorite places on Pennsylvania Ave to eat outside, but on the Saturday we visited the kitchen was backed up terribly and took over an hour for two salads! Folks nearby waited over 90 minutes for their food. Food was worth the wait, and I was NOT in a hurry, but something they need to work on.
Slow on drinks and food. I never received my appetizer and no offer of rectifying the oversight.
This was the worst experience i have ever had in any restaurant. Trusting the quality experience i have had at their New York restaurants , I reserved at Del Friscos for an early dinner with my wife and two little girls (3 and 5 years old) at 6:30 pm. The service was terrible from the get go, after waiting for 10 minutes, we had to get up and get our own menus..... having hungry young kids we placed our orders immediately so that there are no delays. After 20 minutes, our appetizers came, but no napkins or utensils.... we asked for some from two different waiters, we finally got only forks and only 1 Napkin. We had to ask again and wait for another 10 minutes to get knives and napkins, at which point we had worked through our appetizers with forks alone! Now we’re passed 7:30 pm, no sign of our food or waiter and two very hungry young kids and frustrated parents. At 7:45 i finally got the attention of a different waiter and asked on the status of our dinner , and told her that we can’t wait any longer.... 10 minutes later our waiter finally showed up and said the food won’t be out for another 10 - 15 minutes!!!! This was beyond acceptable or tolerable! Needless to say we stood up and walked out! This is shameful for such an institution that ranks itself amongst the high end steakhouses in the country. With such terrible management and service, i wouldn’t be surprised if they shut down soon. I would give them zero stars if i could, but the app didn’t have that option before moving to the comments page.....
We had a party of 6 and due to the kitchen being overwhelmed because of the Cherry Blossom crowd they couldn't handle a FULL restaurant. After an hour and 15 minutes and complaints to the manager our food finally came out. The food was good and they gave us desserts for comp. but I will not visit this place again when it's really busy.
Terrible. We had a reservation but had to wait 15 minutes while walk in parties of the same size were seated before us. Ordered drinks and it took about 20 minutes for them to arrive. In this time, bread was placed on our table but quickly taken away without explanation (or sanitary considerations). We had to ask for bread 10 min later and it finally was dropped on the table with attitude. Our appetizer and dinner order was placed with the drink order and nothing was complicated; just sandwiches and burgers as listed on the menu. Appetizers came and were good, but dinner never arrived! We waited close to 2 hours, asked the waiter several times, and instead of an apology or explanation he just shrugged and said it’ll be here soon. We asked to talk to a manager and waited close to ten minutes but he didn’t come over. Asked again, and found him on our own. He too just shrugged and said he was busy taking to other people - yes. Several tables for up and left in the time we were waiting and in fact the restaurant was half empty at this point. After being seated at 6:15, we eventually left at 8:00 without the food having arrived. Terrible experience all around.
My daughter and I were there to celebrate our birthday. We ordered two salads and after waiting almost 90 minutes without being served the salads, we paid for our drinks and left.
Very disappointed and I will not be going back.
Couldn’t be more disappointed with our choice. We waited over an hour for our food and finally had to leave without eating in order to make our tickets to a show starting down the block. The explanation given was that the kitchen was too busy which was hard to believe given how half empty the restaurant was at that point. The manager was apologetic but didn’t offer anything tangible to compensate us for the inconvenience. Several people around us were waiting to speak to him for similar reasons. The sad thing is that there will probably be no consequence for the business because it seems like many of the customers are tourists walking in off the street who don’t have much choice given the dearth of options in the area. Suffice to say their lack of organization ruined our evening and we definitely won’t be returning or recommending.
