Del Frisco's Grille - Burlington Ratings and Reviews
I booked this as a first visit for my BF's birthday. He is a real 'foodie' and notoriously picky so I was really happy when he loved the wine list, raved about the quirky take on his Beef Stroganoff entree, our beet and whipped feta appetizer, and the fabulous lemon cake for dessert. My own ribeye steak was cooked perfectly and can compete with any steakhouse in the Boston area.
Everything logistically went beautifully as well. We were greeted warmly, seated promptly, and all the staff we engaged with said Happy Birthday to him throughout the evening (great extra touch!!)
We would definitely come here just generally now for a good dinner and experience, not a special occasion as I thought the prices were very reasonable as well and a casual atmosphere is suitable as well.
Our service was outstanding, our server brought me two samples of wine to try when I asked for a recommendation, and then alerted me later that the wine I selected was running out and asked if I wanted to have her "put aside" a glass for me. She checked on us frequently and food/drinks were brought promptly. Our food was excellent, although one of the steaks was a little underdone. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
The place has changed. Menu is much smaller, portions are also smaller. Favorites have been eliminated and the cost went up. My salmon was half the size it used to be and now with one less side. It tasted good, but at 31$ was a ripoff. On top of that, we were stuck in a small function room that felt like my conference room at work. This was with a reservation! Last time here for us.
Excellent cuisine coupled with first-class service. Decore is minimalist with glasses and china not quite up to standard for a steakhouse price category. Sparkling water poured into the Cabernet glasses in the table set-up. My impression is that of fine food and service in a little less than special table environment. Bare wooden table top...you get the picture. Clientele are very casual, printed T-shirts, jeans and running shoes...not a magical upscale bunch to dine with and spend north of $220 for a minimal dinner for 2. Read that as no sides, no desert, no salads, no starches, and one very overpriced appetizer. I know you can easily replicate this meal and spending level in a more elegant steakhouse and have it all. Mostly half full on a shopping season Friday evening. No table visit from a host or manager which is customary in a fine steakhouse. A nervous manager type stalked the dining room with her face in an iPad not interacting with her customers. Front desk not so cheery, vis a vis normal warm steakhouse greetings. Finally, the USDA Prime ribeye was incredible, cooked perfectly to order. Inconsistent experience.
Del Frisco's Grille in Burlington is Ok but in my experience not as good as other locations I've frequented. The service was very good but food quality not great - especially for the price.
A Caesar salad was no better than that found at the local pizza joint - the steak good but not Del Frisco's "great". The real disappointment was the lemon cake for dessert - definitely not as we have known it for years.
The highlights for us on this night were the deviled eggs and the burger which were the standouts of our meal.
Well this is my first less than perfect experience. So, I guess that’s pretty good and therefore I will give it another try. I think wait stuff makes a difference. Although, our waitress wasn’t awful, she wasn’t great either. She didn’t seem to really be listening and I don’t think she was as she forgot to bring one in our party they’re drink, got my order wrong and then questioned whether it really was wrong, which I disliked. I showed her but since it’s pretty dark in there it was hard to see that tomatoes were in fact in my food. It was also the longest time waiting for our food. The fish and fries were nothing special and were the kind you’d get at a fast food place. The whole experience was not good, but since my other four were really good I will try it once more.
We typically go to the Seaport Del Frisco's. I will say that the Sirloin Steak was fantastic and cooked perfectly. The odd thing was the place was very quiet yet the service was painstakingly slow. Although our server was very nice, it was if they forgot we were there. I almost walked into kitchen to find someone to ask when our salad did not come for 30 minutes. The potatoes were cold and shriveled like they had been sitting a while. We would try it again . .. . maybe it was an off night for them.
The steak was perfectly cooked. The wine list is extensive without being overwhelming. When full, the atmosphere can be boisterous. Many tables can accommodate large groups, although that can make it difficult to navigate through the dining room towards the exit or restrooms. Overall, a casual steakhouse with great food.
Although our meals were delicious our food came out so late because they apparently dropped one of our meals on the floor. We had to ask for bread as the delay was so very long and they never even offered to give us a dessert or any other remuneration for the long wait. Not handled properly.
Our waitress and host staff were great. We waited 30 minutes for our table with a reservation. The staff offered us complimentary appetizers for the wait which was great. We then waited 45-50 minutes for our meal after we gave our order. The explanation was that there was a large party that ordered. I would expect for a restaurant who hosts large parties as standard would be prepared in advance and have processes in place to accommodate all parties, not just place smaller parties orders on hold. There were other tables, not just ours who were waiting as well.
We like the food and the staff (non-mgmt), they were so nice and friendly. However, we will now reconsider coming back due to the wait on our food.
Ordered petite filet mignon. The rub was too salty. Came with broccolini, which was so under cooked that only the tips could be cut with a steak knife. Disappointing, overall. My partners had the sole and the baby back ribs and enjoyed their meals more. Had 6:45pm reservation and were seated immediately, and the service was attentive.
had brunch there yesterday; egges benedict..best poached eggs I've ever had..just perfect... friend had fish tacos, also excellent...the best was desert; molten choc.l lava cake with ice cream and the butterscotch salted caramel pudding pot, is outstanding...the waiter, DAVE, was superb...if you go..ask for him...very attentive, not overbearing, friendly, great suggestions...just perfect. Lovely lunch..will return ..to try other items.
The noise in the room was overwhelming and made regular conversations very difficult. We had an extremely friendly and helpful waiter who checked in with us often. My main complaint beside the noise level was that the food was just ok. I ordered the artichoke beignets which were recommended. It was a plate to share of savory fried balls, with a skimpy portion of melted cheese and basil flavored creamy sauce. The frying oil tasted a bit stale and there was no artichoke flavor at all. . My companion had tuna tartare tacos which were more successful. For main dishes we had the pork shank special and baby back ribs with French fries.
Del Frisco’s is a guaranteed good meal. Their menu has options and a variety for all types. I love going there and having Kelly as my waitress she is so attentive and friendly and always remembers me which is such a nice feeling! She is down to earth, poised and professional - she recommended a fantastic dessert and is invited to Christmas dinner 😘
thanks again kelly for another awesome meal and dining experience!
