Del Frisco's Grille - Atlanta Ratings and Reviews
Popped in for brunch today and honestly, wasn’t sure why we did so. The egg rolls (real reason that triggered us to go) were ok-good, but the flatbread was swimming in sauce in parts and none on 1/3 of it and lacked pepperoni or sausage, our salads had little dressing and lacked flavor, and the $9 salmon topping the salad resembled more a piece of sashimi for its size than a filet. To top it all off, service was painfully slow and inattentive.
For someone who had a dinner the week of their wedding there for 20 people because we enjoyed it so much, I think we might have had our last meal there. Under flavored and a meh experience overall.
We made reservations but it didn’t help us a whole lot due to the fact that we didn’t get seated u til about half an hour past our reservation time. We were told that it was due to there being 3 large parties. I feel that is a poor excuse because it’s a Friday night in Buckhead/Atlanta so being extremely busy should be an expectation which shows Management isn’t on top thier game.
My friend and I visited DelFrisco's this Monday, meeting up with another friend that was traveling from CT and in town for business in Buckhead. The food, the service and the drinks were excellent. We started with a burrata heirloom tomato appetizer with home-made pesto that was more than enough to share for two people. My friend and I both had a burger, her the house burger and mine the filet burger with bacon jam, gruyere and gorgonzola - AMAZING. Seriously one of the best tasting burgers I've had in my 10 years in the ATL, which is a bit shocking to me. We also both had parmesan fries with the burgers which were fine. I've come to expect them with truffle oil and these only had cheese so I missed that bite to them. Our friend had the filet, cooked a perfect medium, with housemade sweet potato fries. We also had a good pour of wine and dirty martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives. I wish I could remember my server's name but can't, he was really excellent, attentive, and suggestive of drinks and food items. The only complaint was we were sat at a booth that was right in line with the front door, so every time that door opened, a whoosh of cold air came in and hit the booth. Other than that, great experience and will be back!
Herbert the host never came
And got us for our 745 reservation and we
Were at the bar literally 10 feet from him... our 745 reservation wasn’t seated until 845... he claims they texted me
But at check in... he didn’t verify a phone... just said they were busy and we would need to wait awhile.... I received no text and when confronted, he seemed confused.... no text sent and an hour late on a reservation... looked understaffed, as many tables were dirty and many waiting for food...
Maitre d' was extremely rude. Told us there were completely booked up. We went upstairs to look at the bar and there were 4-5 tables open. I then went and asked again to be seated and she refused. I then made a reservation on OpenTable for 6:40 (it was 6:35 at the time). I showed her the confirmation and she continued to insist that we could lot be seated until 6:40. I finally found the manager and told him "that if they did not want our money, we could go eat somewhere else." He then stepped in and forced the insolent lady with glasses and dreads to seat us. Ridiculous! Food was average and overpriced...the one in NY is much better.
For starters, the front-end team was extremely late to fulfill my reservation. After waiting 30 minutes, my name was finally called for my reservation. Before we were escorted to our table, we were told the table was getting cleaned off. That was fine with me simply because cleaning a table typically takes a few moments. Somehow this took them an extra 15 minutes to do. Finally we get to our table, but haven’t gotten any type of our recognition from our waiter. After roughly 20 minutes we ended up ordering drinks with a random waiter that happened to be passing by. After our drinks come, our waiter finally comes to greet us. By this time we’re immediately ready to order our entrees. He put the order in right after (well at least I thought he did). But somehow around 15 minutes later he finally returns to the table and lets me know that what I ordered is no longer available. After speaking with the manager, he informed me the dish I wanted sold out around an hour ago. Had we been seating and attended to appropriately, I would have been able to get the food I ordered. But now after telling me it’s sold out, the waiter handed me a menu and disappeared. I assumed he would be back to take my order so my food could come out with everyone else’s. But he didn’t, so I place my order with another waiter. After getting my food, it was mediocre at best. Long story short, if you terrible service and overpriced food come to this restaurant.
this was the worst dining experience I can remember having in years. I was entertaining 3 clients for business and made a reservation for 7pm. Arrived and were seated politely. The restaurant wasn’t overly crowded, we didn’t order anything complicated, but it took over an hour from the time we ordered to receive just one steak and One salad. After another 20 minutes of us waiting paitiently for the rest of our food to arrive piece meal, and not one of the steaks prepared as ordered, and frankly nothing was all that tasty. the manager came out to apologize for the “wonky” experience and said he’d just had a heart to heart with his chef. I politely let him know that wonky was an understatement (is it the chefs fault my wedge took over an hour? If so, there’s a serious opportunity for some operational efficiencies here). And so he offered a free round of drinks. I was drinking water so he offered a free dessert to me. A nice gesture, but a more appropriate gesture would have been to Comp the$52 steak that sat solo on a platter for 20 minutes before my clients side orders Or anyone else’s food arrived. All that aside, I explained to the waitress when I placed the dessert order (bread pudding) that we needed to leave in 20 minutes because we had somewhere we needed to be, so if it would be a problem to get the dessert in time, then no thanks. 20 minutes later, still no dessert or check. I asked for it to go, along with the bill. Both came out within another 5 minutes. But by then, we were already way late. This was such a disappointment for my clients and a waste of $$$ for me. I frequent the area, and will not be going back. (Next time Ruth’s Chris!)
Solid meal. This is my second dining experience here and both times I enjoyed my meal. The decor here is very interesting with nice lighting but still casual. This time there were 4 of us dining during a couples night out. We enjoyed our meal but our waiter who was very personable wasn’t on point and disappeared for a while making us track him down for our check. Since we were in no hurry it wasn’t a big concern but could be annoying under other circumstances . Lowdown: A pricy restaurant that is casual, solid, diverse clientele and across the courtyard from The Mandarin Oriental Hotel utilizing valet only parking.
Disappointing. Have frequented Del Frisco’s in Fort Worth and Houston and knew what to expect. This wasn’t it. Service was mediocre from hosts to average waiter. Manager never came by. Had a freakin’ hair in my Mac and Cheese which waiter noticed on my plate, asked about it, but did nothing regarding. Plus, the entire resteraunts was very cold. Yes, it was 24 degrees out, but there are ways to compensate for that. Should have been a much better experience. Only good part was the valet service: they worked hard in the cold, but they are not Del Frisco employees...
Table was not ready when we got there even though we had a reservation. Once we sat down the table was dirty and I pointed it out to the hostess. She said she would send someone to clean it but no one ever came. The service was incredibly slow and our waiter rarely checked on us. So slow that we had planned to order dessert but we had to leave as soon as we finished our entrees. The food was overly salted and sub par (seemed frozen?), not worth the value. Would not go back or recommend this place.
Very disappointing experience, but food was excellent. The table was close to the bar, where there some very rowdy people, so noise level was very high. There was some confusion about my wife's cocktail order, so waiter decided not to bring her one, and just brought mine to the table. The bread order, requested when we got our cocktails, did not arrive until we had almost finished our entrees. I had to get up and remind the waiter that I had ordered a glass of wine to go with my steak, and was almost done before that showed up. Spoke to the manager, who comped one glass of champagne cocktail as an apology. Will not be going back; at this price, I expect better service.
Good food, solid wine selection, service was excellent. Very accommodating with our table needs regarding seating. I would rate them with their pier group of premium steak house chains as very good. Not as high end exceptional as you might perceive the name to imply but a solid choice for lunch or dinner. The interior had more of the casual dining feel opposed to a white table cloth restaurant experience which isn't a bad think but worth knowing.
The restaurant was great. The food was excellent. I had the brick chicken, but the ambiance is why I come. Del Frisco's has set a standard that is unsurpassed when it come to making a individual feel welcomed and valued. If was truly a great experience, and I will return in the near future.
The service was horrible. It took almost an hour for our food to come. Waitress was nice but we are pretty sure she delayed putting our order in to the kitchen in order to push more drinks. She actually tried to get us to get another bottle of wine 30 minutes into our food wait. It wasn’t until we found another waiter and complain s again that our food miraculously appeared. Definitely not worth it.
We dined at Del Frisco’s Grille on Christmas Eve. The entire experience was terrific. The cocktails were good. My husband had the brick chicken with smashed potatoes and I had the filet with asparagus. He thoroughly enjoyed his entree and my steak was perfect. We shared a side of the truffle mac n cheese, which was delicious. The service was impeccable and the ambiance was lively. I highly recommend Del Frisco’s!
Service was fast and friendly and the Egg rolls were to.die.for!! We went for our girls holiday brunch and it was a really nice atmosphere, with standard brunch options! It was a little hard to locate for the out of town folks but they eventually figured it out. The prices were standard and the brunch drinks were reasonable but the normal drinks were a but pricey. All in all I would recommend them for brunch and plan to check out HH in the future.
The valet service was wonderful at this place. The customer service was excellent and they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. The wait for the food could improve but overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I will definitely be back to this restaurant.
Had dinner with colleagues from work on a weekday. Lively and busy place, a bit on the loud side but nice overall. Service was friendly and fast but I thought the food was a bit of a letdown. I had the steak salad which is basically a few slices of (good, well cooked) meat tossed over a some green salad leaves. A microscope is required to find any of the other advertised ingredients (I am looking at you avoccado and cheese!) so I was left feeling a little shortchanged. Overall an underwhelming food experience. This feels more like a bar with some food attached to it than a restaurant with a bar attached to it. Kudos to the staff's friendliness, though. I might go back but more likely for drinks on the patio in the warmer months. Food wise, there are many other places I will try first.
Not a good experience and definitely not worth the price. We waited for almost 90 minutes for our food. The manager did come over to our table to apologize but the wait was way too long. When we did get the food, it was not worth the price that Del Frisco's charges. My husband's bone-in filet was about 4 oz of meat - not worth the $56 that they charge. There are too many upscale steak houses in Atlanta that deliver quality food for the price that they charge so Del Frisco's needs to up their game. Del Frisco's will not be a restaurant that I return to.
