Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
Ryan was an wonderful server...very attentive & a pleasure to talk to!! The Shellfish Plateau was amazing! Both the 16 oz Prime Strip & the Chilled Chilean Sea Bass were beyond delish! We now have a new favorite dessert...the Butter Cake has just surpassed the Lemon Cake by a smidge! Thanks for another fabulous meal!
The worst service I have ever experienced in any dining establishment. I have had better service from a waiter or waitress in a pizza shop. It was very obvious that our waiter had no desire to be there at all. My wine glass sat empty for 10 minutes, steaks were served and then sides came out 7 minutes later, a birthday dessert for us to share was served in a big plate and waiter did not return until the dessert was done for us to ask for plates for the other guests. When we continuously said thank you for something that he did bring to the table there was not even a your welcome. When you asked him for something it was clear that you were bothering him. A lot of money for a dinner here, which I don’t mind, but you should not have service like this.
I come to Del Frisco’s about twice a year. I was very upset that the Lamp Chops were off the menu. I love those, and haven’t had any that taste as good as Del Frisco’s. I had the crab cakes as a substitute they weren’t bad. Hopefully they will bring back the Lamb Chops.
Del Frisco's is usually a fantastic go-to place for an amazing steak and a great date night... not so much this week. The restaurant is beyond chilly, it's downright cold. It was near impossible to feel comfortable given the temperature in the dining room. The service was very attentive and polite, but the constant up-selling became grating and irritating. The worst of all was the new menu removing the King Crab Gnocchi. It's one of the best items on the menu and something that set's Del Frisco's apart from other places like Butcher and Singer. With that gone and the other issues, it's hard to justify coming back.
My family chose Del Frisco's for my daughter's 18th birthday. We were seated at the front of the restaurant where the cold breeze of the front door was blowing right at our table. We did move, however we were placed about 10 feet away. Not much of an improvement. My husband requested two glasses of champagne to toast my daughter. After quite a bit, our waiter returned to inform us we could not have champagne by the glass. We would have to order a bottle. We were not given the Sunday Prime menu, but after requesting our waiter brought one copy to the table for us to share. When my son's food came to the table, the crab cake was not delivered. I requested my tuna be sliced thin in the kitchen, it was not.
The food was excellent. However, it is doubtful we will return. It was very disappointing to have an exspectation of a high end restaurant that didn't forfill what was hoped for.
What a great night we spent at Del Frisco's. Everyone was so friendly, the wine selections was never ending and the food was cooked perfectly. Our steaks had so much flavor and the sides were just as good. Our waitress was very knowledgeable but more than that she was very talkative and funny. We topped the evening off with coffee and the Butter Cake. We will be back.
My wife took me here for a birthday dinner and as a fan of a top-quality steak, Del Frisco's did not disappoint! I settled on the 12 oz filet and it was one of the best I've had amongst the highest competition. All the other accompaniments were up to the same top-notch standard! The real difference maker was the staff, all of whom were sure to check on us in a warm and sincere manner, even making great conversation. Our server, Nick, was engaging and stood out as an even brighter spot amongst the many other highlights! The staff makes Del Frisco's my hands down choice amongst all the other high-end steak houses around as they really make you feel warmly welcomed in a professional and non-pretentious way. And not to mention, again, the food was 5-star!
We were seated right next to the kitchen, which was certainly not ideal. Also, our waitress disappeared for long periods of time. When I asked for help, a manager did come and apologize but made a joke of the inefficiency by saying that she "drank all our cocktails"! Since the prices are very high, you might think she would give us a complimentary drink but NO! food was very good but the overall experience was very disappointing.
We found ourselves again at DelFrisco’s and it was amazing as usual. The Shanghai Calamari, Crabcakes, Grilled Halibut, Filet Mignon, Lobster Mac and Cheese and Spaghetti Squash Au Gratin set the stage for perfect apps and meals. As usual the staff is amongst the best out there and always are informative, polite and have a way with the customers. See you soon!
Our meal was absolutely delicious! We both had prime rib, lobster mac and cheese, mashed potatoes all spectacular. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. Gorgeous restaurant. Definitely will be back. They also gave us a complimentary dessert tray for our anniversary plus a signed card. Very sweet!!
I came home that night, after my lunch meeting at Del Frisco's and made salmon that was beautifully cooked and pretty to look at. You would think that Del Frisco's would be able to do better than me but they did not even come close. And the big vast wide open atmosphere should be abundant and elegant, but came across as cold and disconnected from itself. In fact the room was so cold we could not take our coats off once during the meal. When we asked if they could turn off the high wafts of cold air circulating throughout the restaurant, we were told no. I won't be back and would not recommend. I had the pleasure of dining at Del Frisco's in Boston, but the Phili location does not stand up.
My Favorite restaurant and I'm said to say this night the bar was not on top of their game and the onion rings were so greasy i couldn't eat them. Cant forget when they bring the wrong food and the waiter said we could have it anyway another waiter comes and take the food and sits it on another table. I really love this place I hope they get it together.
This is our second time visiting Del Frisco's Philadelphia. The first time we had an amazing experience with very attentive staff and amazing food that was worth every penny. This recent visit, however, was quite different. Service was slow, the majority of patrons were in jeans, sports jerseys, hoodies or hats. Waitresses wore short tight skirts and fishnets that reminded me of what cocktail waitresses wear in the casino. There were crumbs on the floor and rips in the carpet. The food once again was absolutely amazing, but I left feeling like I could have been in a Cheesecake Factory. Definitely did not feel like I invested in an elegant meal.
Normally a first class experience Del Frisco’s seems to have taken a turn for the worse. The staff couldn’t transfer a tab to our table, brought a whole un-cut loaf of bread to the table with no bread knife, didn’t offer to check our coats and rushed us out. The food was amazing as always but the service has lost its prestige.
My girlfriend and I were looking forward to sampling Delfriscos for a long time. I've heard their commercials on WIP sports radio forever and finally made it happen.
Unfortunately, I left dissappointed.
Let me first say, the restaurant itself is Beautiful! Lots of architecture to enjoy.
In addition, the staff was wonderful and very accommodating! From the hostess to the bartender to the wait staff, everyone was more than dedicated and friendly. Kudos to them.
Now for the food. The highlights of the meal were the salads and the sides. Doesn't bode well for a steak house, does it?
Our ceaser and blue cheese wedge salads were fresh and delicious. Our sides were the grilled asparagus and the potatoes au gratin were spot on. Highly recommend both.
The steaks, however, were very disappointing. My 45 day dry aged ribeye was way over seasoned. The salt was overpowering. The cut itself was also chewy and very fatty. Not very appealing.
My girlfriend's bone in regular strip (no dry aged) was also over seasoned but actually less fatty and chewy. I could actually taste some of the "meat" flavor instead of seasonings.
I've had dry aged steak before and this was disappointing. Honestly, for the price (over $130 just for the meat). I could have bought meat and cooked it at home.
Maybe they were just having a bad night. I'm not sure I'm willing to try again.
Del Frisco is a top notch establishment. Food is superbly prepared and the menu offers filling apps as well as wonderful entrees. The service staff is young but so well trained and understanding of "how to provide service" at a premium restaurant. All people from servers to sommelier were gracious, helpful and attentive. Their cocktails are fashioned with expertise and of course, the wine list is exceptional. Finally, the ambiance provided by this former "bank" venue is architecturally beautiful. Huge columns, large windows, dramatic red curtains, combine with beautiful bar on 2 levels to offer a visual treat. People watching is a bonus!
Just Fantastic! The bar has mixologists that prepare your beverage to your liking with a smile and welcome approach. Dinner on first floor was excellent. Our server insured we were aware of all specials and we enjoyed the Foie grad and Stone Crabs. Dinner was strip steak and crab cakes, mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts with a bottle of Cab Sauvignon. Highly recommended for upcoming Christmas Season.
The food was OK. My fiancé's steak came out first, a good 5 minutes before either one of the side dishes. Then, I ordered a side dish of the lobster Mac and cheese, but the first order burnt, so they remade it. They comped that, but still, a good 15 minutes after he got his steak, I got mine with no update in the interim. Dessert was good, but a $140 bill for a middling steak, 3 side dishes that were supermarket-level at best, two desserts, a drink and a tiny glass of port is a bit over the top. Won't be coming back.
Nick was my server. Excellent service. Engaging and he knew the menu inside and out. Everything was wonderful, from the greeting with the hostess's to service and the food was excellent as usual. I just need to figure out the reservations, I thought I had plenty of time in advance but was stuck with earlier slots. I will look a lot sooner in the future. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience
First time dining here for dinner. Fiance and I celebrating our engagement. Our server JJ took care of us from beginning to end. Started by choosing a bottle of a red blend from their extensive wine list and the sommelier came over to offer his expertise as we were reading through it. We chose the charter octopus as an appetizer and ended up receiving cheesesteak eggroll lollipops and calamari comped as well. All were delicious! For entrees we selected the tuna steak and 16 oz ribeye. These were two moderately priced items on their food menu- they both absolutely exceeded our expectations. The first bite of my steak melted in my mouth. Must've had some spectacular marbling! Thanks tuna steak was also very tasty and a great size. For dessert get the butter cake! Crisp on the outside, gooey good on the inside.

We went for my birthday and the staff could not have been any nicer, not snobby. They knew the history of the building and the food was absolutely delicious. Our waitress Kaitlyn was spot on in her food recommendations and the birthday dessert she brought us was out of this world. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone who asks. Again, cannot day enough nice things about the staff.
