Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - Philadelphia Ratings and Reviews
Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House is rock solid !!! Great atmosphere, great drinks, great food, great menu and great service. An excellent dining experience, first time taking the wife ( she loved it), I had been there for business meals in the past and it's always a choice that you won't regret. Definitely amongst the best Steakhouses in Philly. We'll be back.
The crab cake may have been the best I ever had including Maryland restaurants. My wife and I shared to Tomahawk ribeye, sautéed spinach and a Caesar salad. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server, was sincere and hospitable. Jeffrey, the Sommelier stopped by and was warm and just a great guy.
We were a party of 5. We were seated upstairs in the balcony/mezzanine. Our Server was extremely attentive. The wine choices were excellent. The Appetizers and Dinners were very good. Unfortunately, the music was very loud. Our business discussions were very limited because it was difficult to hear over the music. We let our Server know on mutiple occasions. The Management Team did lower the music for a very short time. Shortly thereafter, it was loud once again.
Worth the visit, but our meal was not without problems. The lamb which was supposed to be medium rare was o over cooked it was grey. The chicken looked OL, but was bloody close to the bone. While they were cooking another piece of lamb, I watched while my friend ate and when the lamb was served my friend watched while I ate. It was not a very good experience. The restaurant did compensate us for the problems. I would go back, aware that there could be problems in the kitchen.
Del Frisco’s made my mom’s 85th birthday extremely enjoyable. This was our first at the restaurant. We both enjoyed the food, except for the au gratin potatoes, which were cold. But everything else was perfect. The staff was very friendly. The ambience was great. We both are looking forward to a return visit!
the food was fabulous!!!! the noise level atrocious. our half moon table for 4 was not conducive to conversation because of the noise and shape of table. no acknowledgment of 2 birthdays being celebrated. for a cost of close to $600 it should have been perfect. i would rather go to capital grill for the food, service and ambiance.
Del Frisco's was beautiful restaurant with excellent steaks & dessert's. server went out of his way to explain the menu & wine list. The only issue me & my date had was the noise level was way to high, it was very hard to have a conversation without raising our voices. It was Christmas & some nice Christmas music would have been more apropos.
There is no way to deny that this place is expensive, like really really expensive. This was the second most expensive meal I have ever eaten in my life but oh my God ... it was worth every penny.
I will let others rave over the fork tender, perfectly prepared steaks. I just have three words ... Lobster. Mashed. Potatoes. Take their amazing mashed potatoes, fold in what was easily a pound of lobster ... maybe more, and ladle on a generous portion of Lobster Bisque as your "gravy" and that will be the best $36.00 you ever spend in your life. Really, they were orgasmic! Three of us had our fill with our meal and I still brought home almost half of the bowl.
I could go back and order them as my entree and be happy.
I was in Philadelphia with friends to see the Christmas shows and do some shopping. I had made reservations at Del Frisco because we had a very enjoyable lunch at Del Frisco grill in NYC. I was expecting the same experience in Philadelphia, but was sadly mistaken. Even though the restaurant was empty, we were escorted to a table at the very back with a great view of exit door. A plain tablecloth was on the huge table with no centerpiece. Our server told us that this Del Frisco was a step up from the grill in NYC. Haha!? Two loaves of bread were placed on the table, uncut. When I brought this to our server's attention, she said she would bring me a knife. I asked her to take care of cutting the bread. She did. The foid was another story. The lobster bisque had so much curry in it, it could not be eaten by two in our group. My steak sandwich was too crispy and tasteless. I could go on and on but you get the picture. Needless to say, I would not go there again. I think the street vendor food smelled better and probably tasted better, too.
