Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - Ft. Worth Ratings and Reviews
Please read this review before deciding to dine at Double Eagle. I booked a reservation at double eagle to celebrate my engagement to my fiancé .
The hostess forgot about us after checking in, I originally thought they were setting up something special for us. We waited there, standing by the front door for 20 minutes while groups of people were seated in front of us. After 20 minutes I spoke to the hostess and were immediately seated.
The dinner was lackluster, waitress forgot our side, and food took over an hour to get to the table. Steak was cold, plate was luke warm. What was supposed to be a celebration turned into a 250$ mistake. I felt so bad. It has nothing to do with the money or getting a refund, but rather completely ruining what was supposed to be a memorable evening. We were told Greg and Kevin the managers at Del Frisco were the ones to speak to, but we were only able to speak to Lauren. She told us sorry, and that she would take "notes". She hoped we would come back again soon. Sounded like a pretty generic and unempathetic apology.
I know this review will not change what we experienced, my goal is that someone who is planning a special occasion will read this review and go somewhere memorable.
Our only criticisms are:
1. It’s a little noisy. I would eliminate the television and bar from the upstairs area.
2. The reason for our dinner was to celebrate by wife’s 70th birthday. The waiter indicated that there would be a “special surprise” at the end of our dinner. The surprise turned out to be a serving of cheesecake. While not our favorite we appreciated what we thought was a nice gesture; until we discovered later that we had been charged $10 for the cheesecake! If we were going to be charged we should have been asked what we wanted for dessert. Cheesecake would not have been our choice. It’s always been our experience for birthday celebrations that restaurants always provide a piece of cake or other dessert gratis. Other than this we had a very enjoyable evening.
The salmon (without the topping) and the grilled asparagus (without the sauce) were excellent! The burger was o.k., nothing special . The roll was as hard as a rock and had to be removed to be eaten. We found it difficult to converse over the very, very, loud music.
Our server, Christian, was outstanding!!!
Moody setting (bring your flashlight to read the menu) with outstanding cuts of beef to savor and possibly split as the portions are generous. Try the spinach. It is without peer. No sauces needed for this meat. You can see the bread coming straight out of the oven off the dining room. Greg is in command of the floor with an army of well trained, skilled craftsman at every table. You will not be disappointed and I am in the Angus business so think I know a thing or two about a steak house.
The restaurant was very nice.... they asked us if we were celebrating a special occasion... we said yes our anniversary.. they put us at a table for two in a corner where one of us had to stare at the wall... I would think they could have put us at a different table so that we could have seen the whole restaurant since it was the first time we had been there
There was a lady bartender at the main bar, sorry, I did not get her name. I asked her to make me something fun with rum and she poured me a great drink, not sure what it was, but it was great. Our waiter Eric was exceptional. He made genuine recommendations that we took advantage of and he was always around when we needed a little something here or there.
Another great Del Experience, cant wait to come back and get some more butter cake...
Normally awesome.. waited 1:15 for food st a 5:30 reservation. For the first time I received major undercooked with excessive grissle. It really seemed to be a hassle for our waiter to deal with the problems we were having. I would think with a $500 table we would have had a better experience. Not sure if we will return as much as it has been great in the past.
Good food and service. Bourbon was good value but matini overpriced for such modest ingredients. Charging for valet parking not appropriate for a nice restaurant.
Approached by two different panhandlers while at valet. We are suckers for them but worry whenever i take out my wallet.
