Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - Ft. Worth Ratings and Reviews
The dinner at Del Friscos Double Eagle Steak House was super! I made reservation for Valentine's. We were able to be seated earlier than our reservation time which was great. I ordered the crab cakes which were really delicious and full of meat and flavor. My wife ordered the salmon. It was really tasty and seasoned perfectly. The restaurant is a little pricey but you get what You pay for!!!!! Our server was very helpful and very personable. I definitively would recommend this place for a special romantic dinner date.
Food fit for a Dog. We ordered their Double Eagle double bone in Ribeye that was aged 45 days (I think), and were clear that we didn't want it rare, we wanted medium to medium well. We think that you ought to be able to get a steak that costs $125 pretty much cooked how you want it. It was Bloody, cool raw and gross. No one in my family could even stand the smell of it. I ate ariound the edges where it was cooked medium. Then took the rest home for my neighbors dog. Yuk. Capital Grille is perfect every time, so is Ruths Chris.
This was by far the best steak I have ever had, hands down! I come from the Midwest so I know what a good steak tastes like, but man oh man is this place good. Even my girlfriend agreed that the steak was phenomenal. The VIP cocktail hit the spot and was made with just the right alcohol to mixer ratio. Our server Jill was amazing and explained the specials to us without skipping a beat. We will definitely be back for date night again soon!
All good except my steak was served rare ca medium rare, but it was handled quickly. Steak flavor was not up to the usual standards and was very below overage for a $49 cut.
Just an off night on my steak because my other 3 experience here were all 4-5 stars on food quality.
The steak was over-cooked (med rare). The blue cheese topping was too pungent and I ordered a Caesar salad which never came...but I was charged for it.
Overall, very disappointed as I was there with my wife and daughter to celebrate her coming to town.
I've been to this location as well as Dallas and Chicago and this was my worst experience of all.
Del Frisco’s used to be the place to go for the best steaks. Not so much anymore. Tonight was the third time in a row that my steak was not cooked properly. I ordered medallions, medium. They came out rare-med to rare. So back it went. The wine list is impressive. It always has been. Kudos for that. Unfortunately, the cab I ordered was not in stock. No one told me until all of the other wines we ordered were opened and poured. The Brussel sprouts, usually very good, were loaded with lemon making them not very tasty at all. A pet peeve of mine is when a waiter asks me to cut into my steak to see if it’s cooked properly. For $50 shouldn’t the chef know how to cook it? Apparently not tonight, since mine was not right. My friend’s filet was chewy too, although cooked properly. My wife’s and another friend’s salmon was perfect. Am I being too picky? I don’t really think so. If I spend $600+ on dinner, there’s an expectation that I’m going to like it, right? As I said earlier, this is the third time in row I’ve sent my steak back. Last time, my wife’s lamb also had to be sent back three times. Medium rare is the norm for lamb, but that piece of meat was still moving it was so rare. Twice more before they got it to med rare.
Sorry, but I can’t see us going back there. There are too many places in FTW that are much better. Del Frisco’s just isn’t the same. One more thing, why do I have to pay $7 to valet park? WTF? No one else’s charges to valet. Sorry guys.
We ordered the calamari appetizer. Much like Eddie V’s, It comes with a chili sauce which was good, but the serving spoon was in the dish. So when we tried to serve ourselves we had sticky sauce all over our hands. Waiter brought us a warm napkin which was nice. We ordered a $49 steak entree along with the crab cake entree which was $39. Presentation would be rated a zero. Steak came out on a white plate nothing else. Crab cakes were good but a little bigger than a silver dollar. We also ordered a side of cream spinach which was barely warm. Our waiter was awesome, he took the spinach back and brought another hot dish. For the price I would expect a better presentation and a plated meal instead of everything being ala crate.
I think if this place would take more pride in their presentation and food, and less pride in their prices it would be a better place to eat. It is a popular destination I feel mainly due to the atmosphere, waitstaff and good steak selection, just overpriced for what you get.
