Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - Denver Ratings and Reviews
looked forward to a great evening which turned out terrible, service was very bad, we were ignored the whole night. salads were fine, but steak was on cold plate, steak wasn't even warm, spinach was not hot, my fish was brought to table and almost feel off plate, they did comp my fish, WON'T go back. Don't mind spending the money for a great experience, BUT this was not a great night. They have a lot to live up too
Valentines Day date night with hubby. We had 9pm reservations but were seated at 10:30 pm. By the time we were sat we were starved and ordered too much food. The one item we came for was sold OUT! Stone crab. I was looking forward to eating them all week . Our waiter was perfect and apologetic but it didn’t make things better. My husbands steak was dry and over cooked but was so hungry he didn’t send it back. We will give them a second chance only because I need to have the stone crab before season end.
We had a reservation for 8:30pm. We get there at 8:25 and we were told it'd be an hour wait. We decided to wait it out because this was one of our favorite restaurants. Fantastic food. We were seated about 2 hours later. I realize that when you make a reservation the seating time can fluctuate but 2 hours? We finally get to our table at 10:30pm. Waiter asks us if we are in a hurry and if we were planning on catching a show after dinner. Apparently this was code for "If we have nowhere to be then they'll take their damn time serving us." We had to ask management where our food was because by now it was after 11pm and we hadn't seen our waiter in a while. Food was served at 11:30pm. 3 hours after our "reservation" time.
They obviously overbooked that night. It's too bad. This is the place we go to treat ourselves once in a while. The food there is fantastic!
It was a terrible experience for my significant other and I. We will be looking for a new restaurant to treat ourselves to.
Went there for Valentine’s Day and it was a huge mistake. Had reservations for 7:45 and didn’t get seated until about 8:10. Waitress took so long to serve us we decided to walk out. We love Del Frisco’s but it was a terrible idea to go for Valentine’s Day. They shouldn’t let so many people book reservations if you get that bad of service. The number 1 reason we go so often is for service and that was missing completely.
We had reservations for 7:00pm. We did not get seated until 8:00pm. I ordered my steak medium well and it was one of the rarest served steaks I've had in a long time. The waitress tried to make it right by bringing me a hot plate so i could slice my steak and cook it on the plate. Not sure how cooking my own steak to my liking on a hot plate is a good choice. I will admit that she did try to make it right and it was a good effort, but it was already closing in on 9:00pm and I was hungry and did not expect to be eating my main course 2 hours after my reservations were to be. I don't blame our waitress. She did try really hard to make my meal right, but the entire experience was poor from being seated much later than our reservations to a disappointing showing by a kitchen that should know how to prepare a steak.
We find ourselves at Del Frisco a couple times a year. Usually it's a great experience but not this time on Valentine's Day. The ambience is in the main dining area and we were put in the back, which I imagine was a meeting room as noticeable by the large projector on the ceiling. Ceiling was very dirty and the setting was disappointing. Food was spilled on the floor and wasn't cleaned up until I asked. Love this restaurant just had a bad experience this time.
Del Friscos is one of our favorite places for a special dinner out. I love their VIP Martinis, and the steaks were wonderful. It was Valentines Dinner, and it was obvious they were trying to turn tables as quickly as possible, which though understandable because of the holiday, when spending that kind of money for that kind of meal, it definitely took away from the experience.
We ordered the creamer spinach as a side, which we always love. Unfortunately, it was obvious they had the dishes of it lined up in the kitchen to grab because 2 dishes of it were so cold we couldn’t eat it.....and the 3rd time they rehearse in the microwave. They did comp us the spinach which was appreciated and a classy gesture given the expectation and quality expected at this level of Restsurant and price point of the dinner.
We will definitely return. It just was a bit rushed of an experience given the holiday, which should have spoken or relaxation and romance.
Food and service was good (not excellent) and felt it's overpriced for what we got. Not sure what happened to the scallop potatoes we ordered because it was more cheese than potatoes. If you're going to spend this kind of money on a meal, then I would recommend Shanahan's over Del Frisco.
Steak were done to perfection. The lobster macaroni and cheese was fantastic with lots of lobster meat. Wine selection was very good with selections from all around the world. Casual attire to formal attire and everything in between appears to be welcome in all dining areas as well as the bar.
Great experience, except for the maitre d. Seemed as if he couldn't wait to get the extra place settings and wine glasses off our table, not so much as a "good evening" or "how are you tonight?" Very unfriendly and unprofessional. Treated the people at the next table as if they were his best friends, because they ordered wine? I can't say enough nice things about our waiter, though. He made us feel welcome and cared for, making helpful suggestions and friendly banter.
Everything about the evening was perfect!
Perfect appetizer! (Had the rare Wagyu and holy sh**t was it good!)
Perfect entree! (My porter house was even better!)
Then took a trip to the cigar lounge and that was the perfect cap to a perfect evening!
Incredible dinner with outstanding service. What made the night absolutely amazing and unforgettable was the post-dinner service given by the Wine Director.
Although it was a chilly night, my date and I asked the hostess if we could have a drink on the patio. The Wine Director immediately jumped in and not only hooked us up with the perfect bottle but went out of his way to set up a romantic and cozy little setting for us by the outdoor fireplace. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend this place. You will not be disappointed.
We love Del Frisco's but unfortunately we were put at a table that was way too crammed. The waitress couldn't even tell us the specials without having to move so someone could deliver food. A drink got partially dumped as she was trying to get out of the way. The same thing happened when the sommelier was trying to tell us about different wines. Our server was wonderful just put in a bad place and food was wonderful as always.
