Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - Denver Ratings and Reviews
We had a good time. Never felt rushed. Bartender Nicole was amazing! Great hospitality! Sam our server did a amazing job as well. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and set us up for success. The Carpaccio was very thick not very appetizing. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the wine list was very extensive . Ambience was decent, light music, brighter for a Steakhouse then we personally like. But over all the experience was great for our special occasion.
The hostess was very nice when I called and said we were running late. Valet service is always good. My challenge was with the time it took to get our food. Honestly my steak was mediocre. It wasn't tender or juicy or even that flavorful. I expect to and have been delivered more at other steakhouses. Our waitress clumsily attempted to deliver an appetizer as consolation for the food taking so long. The appetizer appeared to have been sitting in the window a while. It was the steak egg rolls and they were tired and rough looking and tasted accordingly. The blue cheese wedge was on the money, as was the cheese cake and lemon cake. If I recall the deserts were on the house as well, which is nice but I would have rather paid for everything and had a better experience.
We unfortunately planned this very special personal anniversary on the same day as Del Friscos 20th anniversary so we received horrible service. We sat for over 2 hours. Water took 45 min. Dinner didn't come out at the same time. I am glad the "important" people from Corporate were taken care of, but unfortunately we were not. I wonder what corporate would think of that?
Del Frisco is steady as a great steak house with high end cuts and enough "other" that everyone will enjoy a meal here. Make no mistake the food here is expensive and worth it! The atmosphere is dark paneled with plenty of high end liquor and above all the best kinds of servers. the type that know everything about a cut and side and rarely writes anything down, they are just that polished! Had the 32 oz wagyu tomahawk ribeye that was so good the other excellent ribeye on the table seems just ok. every cut at DF is world class. After dinner the cigar bar was a great place to hear live 'parlor' music and enjoy a high end cigar. I look for ward to this dinner every time I'm in town..!
Couldn't have been more disappointed. I don't mind paying for an overpriced steak on a special occasion, but it shouldn't be full of gristle or sinew. It should be fabulous. I can get a better steak at Outback or Texas Roadhouse for less than half the price. And $20 for a glass of house Merlot? Ridiculous. I realize that you're paying for the privilege of hob knobbing with the beautiful people, but still, the food should be superior. As for service, our server never asked if we wanted a second cocktail despite the fact that our glasses were empty. A second overpriced drink might have taken the sting out of my disappointment. I have dined at the Brown Palace, the Savoy in London, The Williard in Washington DC and the George V in Paris, so I am no stranger to fine dining. Del Frisco's was a big disappointment. I'd recommend Perry's or Shanahan's if you're looking for a special evening.
This restuarant was recommended - and since we made a trip to Denver for the day -shopping sightseeing etc., we decided to try this establishment. We had a very nice meal here. Atmosphere is easy for dining - so it made a nice finish to our day here - We ordered dinner. Our server Leann was on top of her game. My date deals with celiac food allergies, --Leann ensured everything was good for her. The appetizers were delicious - we had shrimp with a variety of cocktail sauces, and I tried the bacon au poiuvre - both were well prepared and presented. Our steak was perfect... and we ordered a few sides; my only comment was that I felt the brussels sprouts were a bit under broiled. I would like to try this establishment again and see what other things the chef and his team, have here - for a couple of foodies!!
Everything was absolutely fantastic! We came for a birthday-it was worth the splurge. They have a 30-32 ounce steak(off menu) that is generally carved table side for two- but the carnivore of the party ate the whole thing. Sides dishes were great- definitely large enough to share. Very generous pours on the cocktails. Complimentary birthday desert was included and they were kind enough to package it to go, since we were pretty full already.
Great staff and food- as always! Thanks, Del's!
For years, it was a given that the service and the food were top notch where the only variable used to be what part of the dining room you would be sitting in and how loud or quiet would it be there? Both service and food were below standards and for $600, it's reasonable to expect perfect steak and seafood, and perfect service. With the competition coming to the DTC, this is not good timing for the restaurant.
I have eaten at del friscos many times and this time was there most disappointing. I ordered them filet with the mash and beans and the quality of the green beans was like being at a diner. They could have served the French beans instead of the string kind for this kind of price. The 3 medallions of beef were odd cuts and unflavourful. I will probably go back to shanahans next time i want steak.
