Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - Denver Ratings and Reviews
Our server was not attentive at all and forgot requests from the table on two occasions. My lobster tail came out burnt around the sides and the waiter even so made a comment stating “they charred this one nice and good tonight”. He did not even come back to make sure the meal was tasting good until 10 after we got everything. There was a table of 6 gentlemen next to us and they ordered our dessert after us and received all 6 of their dessert before we received our one dessert. Not to mention that one of those other desserts was the same dessert we ordered. It was my brothers birthday and he was very displeased with his experience. I’ve never been the one to complain about things during a meal so I kept quiet. And seeing as how management comped the sides, drinks, and desserts I wasn’t going to ask for any further actions to be made. However, I did love the ambiance and the lamb, appetizers, and sides were phenomenal so I will give this establishment another chance.
A classic steak house. Love the food, service and ambiance.
Just wished Denverites would dress better in general. Sometimes it is annoying to dress up and be seated amongst customers wearing sneakers, baggy jeans and shirts untucked...what happened to class!
We had a reservation at 8pm, and our table was not ready until 9pm. Although we did get compensated for our wait, I would rather have my table ready on time then free food. For the price the food it should have been outstanding and it was just ok. Some of my group got sick from the food they were served. We did not end up leaving until around 11 because everything took so long. I would not eat hear again, this was a one time visit for me and my party.
even with reservations the wait seemed a little long. the food was delicious, was it worth the price....probably not, I had the 8oz Filet Mignon with a crab cake on top, my wife ordered the same steak with a different topping, she had a side salad I did not. we shared a piece of cheesecake for desert.... $186.00 before tip, a little over the top.
I usually have a great experience here. It is our go to place to celebrate special occasions. We are regulars. We had such a bad experience with the food Friday night. There was actual hair in one of our entrees. They took it back and made a new one and took it off the bill. But then the rest of the food was terrible as well. I ordered the halibut and it was so over cooked it was like jerky to chew. We ordered mushrooms and they were as hard as a rock and the bread we got at the table had to be sent back too because it was so hard. We spend a lot of money here for great food and this last experience makes me not ever want to spend money here again for fine dining. What a bummer :(
We had a great time dining her for the first time on Thanksgiving. The staff was extraordinarily attentive and professional despite how busy they were for the holiday (pro tip: make your reservation for Thanksgiving well in advance). Overall, had a fabulous meal at a beautiful restaurant - could not have asked for a better experience.
Had just a really nice time at this restaurant for Thanksgiving lunch/dinner! Our waitress was OUTSTANDING! It was busy, but we never felt rushed or hurried. She answered lots of questions because the ONE problem we had was that they would NOT give us any dark meat. When I made the reservation on Open Table, it specifically said.... White Meat.... Dark Meat! So, I was not happy when we got there and they would not serve any. So, lobster and steak for T-giving. Great place for special occasions- though very, very dress down casual patrons on the holiday.
Delfriscos has always been fit for carnivores and that has not changed. They now offer several selections of dry aged beef, but unfortunately all were sold out at 5 PM on a Tuesday night. Martinis were wonderful as were some of the new craft cocktails. Appetizers still deliver but there are no real surprises. Gigantic hunks of meat cooked to perfection sizzling on the plate please every kind of meat eater. The sides however leave something to be desired. They get too cute with the asparagus adding unnecessary romesco to perfectly cooked Spears. The creamed corn remind me of something from A can. The new potato option, something of a twice baked potatowith the essence of truffle butter, was quite enjoyable. At desert the decadent butter cake was a real crowdpleaser. Delivered just as good if not better than the one I’ve had at
Mastro’s. A noticeable effort of improvement in the service department Left quite an impression, adding a great deal to our dining pleasure. A Memorable night
We have been to most of the high end steak houses, so we wanted to try Del Friscos since everyone says they are very comparable. I made a reservation for a Saturday night, and when we arrived we were taken to what appeared to be an overflow room/meeting room in the back of the restaurant. The room was poorly decorated and was in serious need of a remodel. It made us feel like we didn’t belong since we walked through the main dining room that was 100% nicer looking and stuffed back in another room with a giant projector hanging from the ceiling.
The food was very good as we expected, but service was not top notch. I assume because our server had to come and go from the main dining area which was not close to where we were.
It’s unfortunate that this crappy old room they put us in made us feel like we were in almost a low end restaurant, and now we will probably not return. We spent $270 for 2 people, and for that we can go to Shanahans or Ruth Chris and be very well taken care of in a much nicer setting. The ambience isn’t worth spending that kind of money when you can get it all at other restaurants.
We had a good time. Never felt rushed. Bartender Nicole was amazing! Great hospitality! Sam our server did a amazing job as well. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and set us up for success. The Carpaccio was very thick not very appetizing. Steaks were cooked to perfection and the wine list was very extensive . Ambience was decent, light music, brighter for a Steakhouse then we personally like. But over all the experience was great for our special occasion.
