Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - Denver Ratings and Reviews
I like feel Del Frisco's. The only issue we faced was it took almost an hour from the time we ordered to the time we received our food. Thankfully we had nothing else planned that night and was just relaxing. Otherwise, i would have talked to a manger. The food was great.
We were met by valet with a smile, hostess offered to take my coat. Seated and Chris our waiter was awesome and perfect on his timing throughout dinner. Car was waiting on us when we left the restaurant . I did feel that the bill was pretty hefty on the price, I used 2 gift cards each for $100 and I don't drink and the bill was $350 before tip, and my girlfriend had 1 martini and 2 glasses of wine. It was a great night even with the sticker shock...
This was a return visit after a previous negative experience. Definitely better the second time around. Service was much better! Our server Marshal was very attentive to every detail. The steaks were cooked perfectly and seared just right. My first Side-car tasted excellent as well.
Overall, it was a great second visit.
We spent New Year’s at Del Frisco’s and enjoyed the wine, steaks and seafood appetizers. My husband had the shrimp cocktail that was huge while I had the tuna tartare that was a little sweet but extremely fresh. Courtney was our waitress and she was attentive, friendly and helped us discover a great Malbec that complemented our prime rib and filet mignon. While pricy, Del Frisco puts in a ton of effort to make the experience totally worth it.
Had another great experience at Del Friscos! This was the first time we took our 6 year old and he loved it! Lucas, our waiter was fantastic and offered a kid friendly meal that he loved! We will be so happy to return, especially knowing what great service we will receive.
My best friend is GF and I wanted to treat her to a nice meal for Christmas. The online menu shows GF crab cakes, so I made reservations. When we arrived at 4:45 we were told that the dining room wasn’t ready, and were asked to wait at the bar. Four other groups came in after us and were seated in the dining area. After waiting 30 minutes I asked the hostess when we could have a table. She was rude and said I never put our name in. I’m writing this review on Open Table, so yes, I made a reservation.
After getting a table and reviewing the menus it was obvious that the crab cakes were not GF. The manager argued with me saying that I must have read it wrong. (I will attach a screen shot of the menu.) The manager said she could make a filet Oscar even though it wasn’t on the menu. So my friend ordered that, and I ordered a filet trio. (Three filets, all topped with something different.)
The food was good. However, when the bill came my friends 6 oz filet was charged at the same price at my 12 oz trio. I asked the waiter why, he said because it was a special request. REALLY?!?! Mind you, she had a filet Oscar, but I also had a filet Oscar in my trio. There was nothing special about her steak vs mine. Her steak was 1/2 the size of mine yet they charged the same price.
The whole experience was disappointing from the minute we walked it.
To go along with all of this the service was unbelievably slow. My reservation was at 5. You can see on my bill that the time is 6:26pm. So, and hour and a half for a table of two? We ordered dessert to go because we had already been there so long.
I definitely won’t be back. If i’m Spending over $200 on a meal for two I expect more than this.
Arrived 7:40 for a 7:45 reservation and seated almost immediately. Ordered about 10 minutes later, then waited almost an hour for food (3 basic orders of filet's and potatoes). Server stopped by several times to apologize. Server comped 2 very good desserts, mousse and creme brulee. Overall experience was a mixed bag, but probably will go back.
Wonderful Christmas Eve Dinner. It was nice to be seated in one of the side rooms so it was not as busy and loud as it usually is. Server was good for a holiday night, not the best, but good. The food was too salty - we have eaten here before and it was not salty, so I must assume it was the holiday kitchen staff. The side dishes were very good, except for the brussel sprouts, again too salty. The spaghetti squash side dish was excellent. The deserts were not that special - the chocolate soufflé was not prepared correctly. This restaurant was extremely busy and is probably better on a non-holiday night during the week or on Friday.
Came here for Christmas Eve - 2nd time tradition. Made reservations almost a year ago. Waited a bit for a table, but it was very busy. Food was very good. Chris, sommelier, is very knowledgeable. Greg, our waiter, also very knowledgeable, offered up suggested favorites. When we were first seated in the back room there were not a lot of people so it felt isolated, but the room started to fill pretty quickly which became a more vibrant scene.
We will most likely be here again for Christmas Eve.
An old-school steakhouse in a good way: dark wood, traditional, well-prepared food, impeccable service. It also offers a variety of seafood options for those who prefer them over meat. None of the food is particularly light (do we really need thick slices of bacon on a green salad?!) but that’s to be expected. My only food complaint is the bread, which is bland (almost like Subway caliber) and served at the table, unsliced with only a butter knife to cut it. Why not a crusty boule, sliced or at least offered with a serrated knife - especially at these high prices?
Service is excellent; my father in a wheelchair was well-accommodated. The room’s tables are packed tightly so even though the music is not too loud, the room gets quite loud when full. Given an elderly clientele, a bit quieter, less congested space would be appreciated.
