Just another outstanding evening at Del Frisco’s. Originally had reservations at Maestro and they were so awful when I changed from 2 to 3 people I canceled. But, just like always, Del Frisco was on point with great service, excellent food, and an all out great experience. We arrived early—no problem. We ordered lots of things—always ready with anything we want. Happy, memorable, and the best steak in DC. DO NOT BOTHER EATING ELSEWHERE.
Ceiling leaking water on my husband at table, we moved to another table. Calamari was horrible and tough. Chilean sea bass was bland crab fried rice was salty, brown lettuce for wedge salad. Steaks and sides were good lobster Mac and cheese, cream spinach. We’ve dined here several times before COVID pandemic and food and service was excellent previously. Waiter was pleasant but service was not top notch like it use to be. Del Frisco’s use to be worth every penny but NOT ANYMORE
Tom is fantastic and the food great!!! I love the filet topped with lobster. Request Tom Stevens he is the best and treats you like family.
My friends and I dined at Del Friscos last night for my birthday. I’m very big in customer service, so I’m happy to say that Our server was super friendly and treated us like Gold. All of the food was absolutely delicious. The two drinks that my table chose was the “Old Fashioned” and the Margarita, which were both great. And of course the butter cake is a huge hit. The vibe/ambiance is amazing. I’ll certainly be back soon❤️
It’s Amazing will come back soon
Food was great, amazing ambiance, slow service
We always do restaurant week at Del Friscos. This year we missed and and my friend that lives in Charlotte came up for a late tradition dinner.
Our server James was awesome he pretty much made up for everyone else.
Everyone else in the restaurant seemed didn’t know what they were doing
When we walked in, nobody at the host stand and we waited for more than 5 minutes….
The service (except James) and food price don’t match
The service from the staff was great. Our waiter was especially attentive and helpful to us with recommendations and pairing ideas. The was consistent with what I have had at other Del Frisco locations.
Service was subpar for most of the evening. Cocktails didn’t come out prepared correctly.
Normally an evening at Del Frisco’s is a very memorable and enjoyable evening. Unfortunately, our evening there last night fell far short of our usual experience. It began with us being seated in a booth at the top of the stairs, which meant that we got to “experience” every guest that dined upstairs as they walked by our table on their way to their own. It was perplexing as to why we were seated there when there were numerous empty tables when we arrived. While our server was nice and pleasant, he unfortunately was very soft spoken, which made it very difficult to hear him through his mask. Moreover, we did not receive the same attentive treatment that has been the norm in our previous visits to Del Frisco’s. We were never offered assistance with a wine selection nor advised of any dinner specials. Three of us ordered steaks and they were all luke warm at best, and mine was way undercooked. I am hoping that what we experienced was a direct result of the restaurant and staff still working to build back after the hit they and other restaurants took as a result of COVID. If, however, this is the new norm for Del Frisco’s, we will need to look for another fine steakhouse to put at the top of our A list.
The butter cake dessert and the lobster Mac and cheese were the highlights by far. The Chilean Sea Bass was cooked perfectly. Everything was served at the perfect temperature. The bone-in prime ribeye was super.
Unfortunately, they were out of scallops and the Cabernet Sauvignon by the glass. The substitute was not very good.
Service was excellent.
Came her on a business lunch with a colleague. First time for both of us. Great service and food. We ordered the wagu and cheeseburgers. We loves our selections. Tuna tartare was incredible! Will come again.
Would not go again… horrible experience
When I arrived I waited about 5 minutes to be checked in for my reservation or at least greeted, when one one came I had to ask to different servers if they could get me some help. While waiting for the concierge to arrive an employee in passing rudely barked at me to pull my mask up even tho he could see I was just moved it below my lip to put gloss on my lip. Eventually the concierge came, at this point another party arrived and began waiting with me. I’m not sure how or why but he sat them before me. Once seated we continued to wait for a waiter to come over and greet us for a few minutes. When she arrived my friend jokingly said I though you’d forgotten about us she apologized and began taking our order. After being at the restaurant for about 10-15 minutes we finally got seated and got water. I wasn’t impressed or pleased by that experience at all. Overall the food was good but drink selection was very limited.
Birthday celebration for wife
The food was amazing, as always. Del Frisco's will always be my go-to steakhouse.
Wonderful waitstaff, wonderful food. Perfect mashed potatoes & perfectly cooked lamb. Luis was excellent to me on my solo date (I got stood up). I had fun ordering a bunch of food and speaking Spanish (or trying to) with the servers. Everybody was lovely.
Let me start off by saying my wife and I have been going to Del Frisco's for almost 5 years and this was at least our 10th visit to this location.
Ashley our server was wonderful and continued the great tradition of service we generally receive when we are there.
Unfortunately the food wasn't up to the usual standard. We dined in for lunch and the lobster mac-n-cheese portion was considerably smaller and with less lobster. The creamed spinach which was given to us a courtesy, after being informed the brussels sprout were not available, was just ok.
Also the bread (rolls) they brought out when we were first seated had the potential to be good if they were brought out fresh.
The steaks were cooked to our desired temp (we both had NY Strip) and my wife wanted a ribeye (but they didn't have any) but the cut/quality of the meat didn't seem to be on par with previous experiences.
The butter cake however was good per usual standards.
Let me close by saying Del Frisco's is still a good steakhouse, that potentially because of new management may have taken a step back.
Because of that they are longer a lock when we visit DC and want to eat steak.
When we arrived
The food was not good..brussel sprouts all you could taste is char: the bread was not hot, didnt even taste like it was cooked on site: steak medallions were tough: mac and cheese had absolutely no flavor. I can't recommend the place. Get someone in the kitchen who's not afraid of flavor.
We were celebrating my friend’s birthday party and everything was amazing as always. The only issue was a couple flies that were flying in the restaurant.
This was a decent restaurant. It has a nice ambiance to it, but the food was not impressive.
We had dinner here for my mother’s birthday and we had an absolutely wonderful meal and a fantastic experience
COVID has changed the restaurant industry. Service was slow, our server was not enthusiastic or seeming like he was happy to be at work, maybe he was having a bad day. We were seated at a table near the windows. Above us, condensation had formed and we occasionally felt the drops. The food was good, my medallions came to the table on a warm plate but were just warmed. I have been to this restaurant before and always had excellent service.
I won't count them out just yet.
Great steaks. Very elegant surroundings.
Valet parking right in front of the restaurant made it convenient for parking and we were able to be seated ahead of our reservation time . The dinner and service were excellent and I’d definitely return to this location in the future.
The experience at Del Frisco was outstanding. The server was more than attentive to our party of six, college friends. The table, restroom were very clean and mask requirements were adhered to. The food was delicious from appetizers, entree and dessert. The steak was well seasoned. I never buy steak out. We all said we would return with our individual families.
Decent experience but not my best at the DC location. My friend’s steak had to be sent back twice. They should have know to butterfly a filet that the customer wants medium well. The potatoes were not completely done but otherwise the food was good but it been much better in the past. The corn is amazing and the butter cake is DELICIOUS! Waiter was friendly and service was good.
The service was absolutely atrocious. The waitress had no idea what was stocked or available, and simple requests for glasses, plates, utensils, even the check took minutes up to 30 at a time. There was absolute no care and it was impossible to even get someone to speak with us.
During the initial dinner service the excuse that it was busy was being used - not acceptable but more understandable. Trying to leave and get the check - there were only 4 other tables and no one to be seen.
I was offended and disgusted by the lack of respect shown across all levels.
Amazing food and atmosphere! Would highly recommend!
I made a reservation so my table was ready as soon as I checked in. I have no been to Del Frisco’s in many years and the food was just okay. My waiter had a lot of tables so his attention to myself and the other guest was a little delayed. I had a filet with lobster tail, which did not come with butter. By the time the butter arrived I had already started eating my lobster tail. Also, I started with a Caesar salad. I was not asked if I wanted fresh cracked black pepper until I already started eating and by the time the pepper arrived, I was halfway finished with the salad. Overall I’ll give it a 3/5 but the service was delayed and the food was just okay. The best thing was the salad and the calamari. Even the lamb chops were mediocre.
Great service and food
Table setting not in place- missing side plates.
Had to ask for steak knife.
Uncooked cheesecake needs to go.
Baked cheesecake instead-please!
Just expected perfection at this price. Waiter was nice.
Arrived early and was seated right away. The service staff were wonderful and the food was excellent.
Pros: The Cocktails
Cons: Service and Steaks
I hosted my birthday dinner and I regret it tremendously. I had a party of 5. One person in my party was only having drinks and ordered a salad. The salad was to be brought out with our entrees.
The appetizers came and they brought her salad out with the appetizers, instead of the entrees. She didn't eat it because she was waiting for our entrees to come. We were completely ignored for 25-30 minutes AFTER our appetizers were finished. I saw our server in the kitchen goofing off with the kitchen staff. I finally made eye contact with her and waved her over.
We asked why our entrees haven't come yet and she explained that she was waiting for my friend to finish her salad. We were livid!!! Our meals were done and waiting on the warmer the whole time! Our food arrived to the table luke warm. We wanted to leave then.
My ribeye was unseasoned, hard on the outside but, cooked to temperature in the middle. I waved our server down again and told her that I was unhappy with my meal and explained why. I explained that I just wanted my check and would reheat my food at home.
My server asked me to tell her manager what I told her. I thought she must've received similar feedback throughout the night and just wanted him to know. When the manager came, I felt like he thought we wanted something for free. We didn't. We wanted our checks so we could go home!!!
The manager offered to re-fire my steak, which he did. We asked for the desserts to go but, she brought them to the table. Then, we still waited another 25 minutes for our checks to come.
When I got home, I noticed that he gave me a different cut of meat and it wasn't cooked to the temperature that I asked. I ended up washing it off and giving it to my dog.
I want my money back for my ribeye!
Overall, the experience was terrible and my bday dinner was ruined. I don't plan on returning to this establishment. Service is everything to me.
