Tom Stevens, wait staff, is amazing and equally matched was our meal! Defined going back when in DC!
A friend took us here to celebrate his retirement. As always good food, drinks & atmosphere.
I always love coming to this spot. It’s busy and energetic and the warm butter cake is a sin on a plate. It’s definitely a must. Aside from my server accidentally pouring water in my wine and their vegetarian option (cauliflower steak) being less than tasty I would def recommend this restaurant.
Our table was in the bar area, too loud, couldn’t hear each other talk. We requested a quiet table but they didn’t have one.
Food was excellent, as was our server.
We went for our sons 14th birthday. He loves steak and wanted to give him a Special treat. The steaks were beautifully done. The seafood was below average. I had Chilean Sea Bass and it was extremely fishy tasting, I have had it many times at other establishments and never tasted super fishy. I have a feeling it has been around a day or two too long. Husband had the salmon and it was average.
The Del Friscos in NYC is so much better in food and ambiance. Its not as casual feeling as DC. We dressed up since its a pricey restaurant and felt out of place since most of the crowd had jeans on.
The service was great, our waiter was very attentive and had some good suggestions for apps and dessert.
I’ve never had a bad experience.
It's beautiful especially, upstairs and the service is in keeping with the venue!
Our young waiter started out nice but early on we recognized that he didn’t listen well. Things really went down hill when we received food we did not order. My friend and I decided to go for the lobster - he informed us that they have 3 sizes - 22 oz, 28 oz & I believe a 30 oz. We both decided for the smallest. When we received our food we noticed the lobsters were really huge — one definitely was bigger than the other. The server explains that one is a 22 ounce and the other is 28 ounce. Why are there two different sizes when we both ordered the smallest of the choices available? He went on to tell us that the smallest they had available was a 22 oz & a 28 oz. Meaning One of each. How would we know that if he never explained this to us. It is up to the server to accurately and effectively communicate with the customer. You don’t just bring out what you want and try to force something we did not order on us. We asked for a manager to offer resolve. We explained the situation & he was more than happy to accommodate us. The server walked by our table several times until we finally asked him why he hasn’t been back to our table. He went on to say we embarrassed him & we almost cost him his job. We really tried to talk to this young man as if he belonged to any of us & he refused to listen & take accountability for his mistakes. Because it wasn’t just the lobster he messed up on by the way. We were not angry or irate. We just wanted to offer him some advice even encouraging words on how to do better next time. He wasn’t trying to hear it. We did have a young lady who helped us who apparently was asked to help out in some way even before the lobster debacle happened. I was upset to learn that she was in the bathroom crying b/c apparently this same young man had some negative words to express to her because she helped us. If anything she was a team member trying to help recover the negative experience we were having. I will definitely be writing the company.
Kudos to our server Dionne.
Had a great time! Table service was amazing. Wine recommendations were excellent. Host service was fine but not exceptional. Food was fantastic. Buttercake.....
The steak is always delicious at the restaurant. The butter cake was delicious. Always a pleasure to dine at this location.
The lamb was ordered medium; it came medium but dry, the lobster $152 was chewy, clearly overcooked.
We were a large group of six and the kitchen must have had a problem juggling all our orders of different temperatures. They left the lamb and lobster under the heat lamps for too long. Next time they should offer the guest « serve as it gets ready.. »
Service very good. Tried to seat 6 of us in bar until we ask for restaurant?
Lobster was overpriced and dry.
Steaks were delicious!
I made a reservation on Thanksgiving with my family for dinner. It all started off when we were seated upstairs near the bar and our table kept wobbling. One of the servers came over and placed the napkin that they use for the table setting under one leg of the table. That caused the other side to be uneven so he then took another napkin and placed it under the other side. It happened for the third time so we asked to be moved. We ordered our cocktails and appetizers then shortly later wine with our dinner. We decided to go with the regular menu vs the Thanksgiving Menu. My husband ordered the New York Strip Medium and I got the Filet Medium. Mine was cooked perfectly but my husbands steak was on the Rare side. The waitress took the steak back and said they can cook it a little more. When she brought it back, there was a piece of hair on the plate. My husband showed her but it was just awkward because she didn’t even offer to take it back or apologize. Plus, at this point the rest of us were halfway through our meals so he just ate it. The wine that I ordered to be brought out with my steak came way after. We couldn’t enjoy the experience or the food from the moment we got there and left very disappointed.
My mother and I came here for Thanksgiving Dinner. The ambiance was, of course, very loud, but this was due to all of the families and children present. When I've dined there before, the ambiance is honestly perfect. The duck a l'orange meatballs were good, not great. I had the filet mignon with potatoes au gratin and my mother had the crab cakes with sauteed mushrooms & pearl onions. The sides were large enough for two people (or even three) to share and were incredibly savory. The temperature of my steak was cooked as I ordered and was delicious. The presentation wasn't as nice as I'd hope but the food was amazing so it wasn't a big deal. For dessert, my mother had the butter cake and I had the pineapple upside down cake. I'll just say the pineapple cake looks really unappetizing and not what you'd expect if you're used to the traditional cake. However, this cake was truly phenomenal. I could eat that cake for the rest of my life. The butter cake was really great too.
The only really negative issue I had this night was with the valet. The valet that night was $13, but I gave the man $20, expecting change. I got distracted by my mother asking for something and I said I would be right back. He handed me the keys and we walked back inside together. My mother asked if I ever got back the change and I realized I hadn't. I asked the valet could I get the $7 change back, since I never told him to keep the change and neither did my mother. He went on a rant about how he kept my car out front, didn't put it in the garage, how keeping a car out front usually costs $40, and how he's working Thanksgiving but he can't even keep the change. It was so incredibly awkward, especially since I never asked for my car to be kept out front and I was going to tip him anyways. But giving yourself your own tip out of a customer's change is really unacceptable. To end this rant, I said "Just keep it, if you're going to argue about it" and left. It was a terrible experience.
Excellent Service Love the Holiday Meal Options
5 star dining experience!
This was a mediocre experience compared to other high-end steakhouses in the DC area (Capitol Grille, Ruth's Chris, Prime Rib). The decor was very nice in the bar area and we were greeted warmly and enthusiastically by the hostess. Unfortunately, the wait staff there did not live up to the standards of a restaurant of this calibre. They had absolutely no charm and could not smile at all. They seemed bored and unknowledgeable about the various cuts of steaks. The busboy spent most of the time watching a football game on the TV, rather than watching the table. This might be tolerable if the steaks were excellent, but they were just average. I ordered a Prime Ribeye (16 oz), and not only did it appear a lot smaller than usual, but it was tough. The sides of sauteed spinach and lobster mac and cheese were very good, and perhaps the best things about my experience. The Del Frisco Double Eagle in NYC is the best steakhouse I've ever been to, but unfortunately this one was completely on the other end of the spectrum.
We had a very good experience with our servers and manager in the cocktail bar and it extended to dinner as we went upstairs to dine.
For the prices the food should have been better. A bit of a play on high end dining. Don't mind the prices as long as the food and service align. Service was fine not outstanding..but the charge prices that warrant more.
Great anniversary dinner they hit all boxes definitely recommended
It was our 24 th wedding anniversary and the seating arrangements were not adhered to. I made a seating request when I made the reservation and again when we initially checked in. Because I’m in a wheelchair the hostess never asked what our seating preferences were. The food was just ok. One of our appetizers that we asked to be wrapped to go did not make it in the bag. A huge disappointment.
I regularly go to this restaurant in NYC and it is one of my favorite restaurants to eat at. Today is my birthday and decided to go to this restaurant bc traveling to DC. I will never come back. I ordered a medium steak. That should not be too difficult. I know chefs prefer to serve medium rare but I don’t like it unless it’s medium - hot pink inside. My steak was rare - dark burn outside but not cooked inside. Sent it back. The outside was darker but still rare inside. If you are a steakhouse you ought to be able to make perfectly cooked steak that the customer likes. Very disappointing to say the least. I will not be returning.
Food was good; not great. Service was OK. Value is not there.
I go often, love the food.Esp the cheese steak eggrolls they are to dry for. Def a vibe
I think this is the best steakhouse in DC. They do offer corkage ($40/btl), which is a plus for us. On our November 2019 visit, we shared the long-bone Wagyu ribeye. This is not a Japanese A9, but it's quite good for the price. My only gripe was that the asparagus was too thick and tough.
The crabcake was awesome, the steak however wasn't to good i asked for medium well and it was bloody didn't send it back because the service was slow
Javier rocked it. Great night!
Del Frisco's is one of our "go-to" places for dinner in DC. First, the location is super convenient and parking is not an issue, not to mention all that City Center has to offer. The bar at Del Frisco's is always fun for a cocktail or two before dinner. We always go early, usually before 6 pm. This allows us to take out time and dine at our pace. The wait staff is always friendly and engaging and so is the management. The manager always stops by our table to check on us and even takes the time to have some light conversation. The appetizers are delicious with generous portions and there are many to choose from. Also, there are plenty of salads and sides served family-style, easily enough for 2, maybe even three persons. The entrees are the star though. While I normally will always get some kind of steak, after all it is a steakhouse. My wife typically orders chicken and seafood. Regardless, whether you order beef, fish or chicken the food always tastes great and is prepared perfectly to order. The portions are generous, we seldom finish eating everything and usually have something to take home with us. This visit was our wedding anniversary dinner. Del Frisco's welcomed us at our table with two glass of champagne and a card. Very nice and unexpected. After the meal and while pondering over the dessert menu our waiter Wayde appeared with a beautifully plated dessert combination platter, complemented with a lit candle to. Wayde again congratulated us and thanked us for choosing Del Frisco's to celebrate. We took our time, thoroughly enjoying every bite. The butter cake is out of this world! I highly recommend De' Frisco's for your next dinner or special occasion.
Been here numerous times but this time was a disappointment. Service was slow and unattentive. Trio of filet medallions were not to the quality of beef expected. May try again someday.
Food was amazing. There was a large party next to us that was loud. Other than that... great experience.
From the moment you arrive to your personal goodbye from the General Manager, guests are made to feel special. Let’s start with the impressive interior decor that creates an air of excitement. The soaring windows coupled with an impressive ambience truly makes you know you’ve arrived. Your meal is an culinary masterpiece. While a great steak is always a treasured treat, their laser sharp focus on making the whole dining experience memorable, is nothing short than perfection. The wait staff service is exemplary as they receive and honor special requests with elan and ease. Plus while the focus is naturally on the entree, they assure you that the appetizers, salads and yes, their decadent desserts, all add up to a gourmet sensation. One last insight: their spirits and wine selection boast one of the best selections in the greater DC restaurant community.
Birthday. Seating by window in dining room was cold.
Food was outstanding. We struggled with the service at first - they seated us at high tables in the bar area and then forgot about us. There were also some very loud, obnoxious drunken customers in the bar area. However when we expressed our interest in moving to another table, they reseated us upstairs and the service was excellent from there.
The meat was cold in the inside, no taste. Servers did not check on us. The veggies were not cooked well.
El camarero Mac es muy esmerado en la atención.
Sin embargo esperamos 35 minutos para que nos asignaran mesa , tiempo incómodo, compensado por el
Great place. A bit expensive
Been to del
Several times and never have been let down. They know food steak and know how to use it.
Very good service
