5 Star establishment with a 5 Star staff serving 5 Star food!
Birthday dinner for a friend.
Del Frisco's never disappoints. My husband and I went there for our anniversary date and everything was fabulous. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It is such an elegant and beautiful restaurant....
Steaks were delicious, service was excellent, bar was fun, too
It was my sister in law birthday. There were 9 of us. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing. Joey who took care of us was so on time throughout the evening. From bringing out the food gradually and not over serving us and always keeping the Caymus coming. My family and I had a great experience. Definitely will be back. Thank you
Not only a great steak, maybe the best I've ever had, but a lovely space with comfortable elegance. Best of all, the management went out of their way to ensure a great evening for us. We loved it all.
Chicago is a steak town and I am a carnivore. I had never been to Del Frisco’s but had a friend from Texas who swore by them. So when another friend said she wanted to go it was an easy decision.
We got there early and the hostess sent us up to the bar to wait. Upon sitting down the bartender asked for our name & reservation time and said he would keep us updated. He let us know our table was ready(a little early) but since we were enjoying our cocktails he said he would let the hostess know to push our table for 15 minutes. Right on schedule the hostess came and led us to our table.
Dinner was great. Service fantastic(the sommelier came over even though we were just drinking by the glass)
The Bone-In Ribeye was the best I ever had.
Afterwards we went up to The Champagne Room(a new space for them) and enjoyed an after dinner drink. Live music starting soon.
I can definitely say I will be back sooner than later.
Everything was fine until we were leaving. It took 30-40 minutes to get our car from the valet. We got our car after 5 to 6 other couples/groups that presented their valet stubs after us and got their vehicles. A gentleman (whom was behind us) went and got the manager and he was able to get his vehicle before us and the fact that I was on a crutches the wait was unacceptable.
Steaks were fantastic, rest of the experience fell short. We had a cocktail at the bar when we arrived. Service was slow. Drinks were ok - I liked the cocktail list but was disappointed 1) that they couldn't make a classic cocktail like a Jack Rose; and, 2) that their ice is horrible. I can't remember ever noticing ice, but I definitely did with the two drinks I ordered here. One was a whiskey sour, which they served on the rocks with what looked like quick-melting hotel ice machine ice. The other was from their menu, a Whiskey Bramble, effectively their version of a whiskey sour. For it, they used crushed ice and the cocktail tasted like water by my second sip.
Dining room is impressive remodel of a movie theater. You'd never know, except for the nice touch of keeping the old theater sign in front. Our waiter grew on me as the night went, but things started off rocky with miscommunication. We asked for several shared plates, but he somehow had also gotten starter orders from a couple people at the table without getting starter orders from everyone, so lobster bisques and wedge salads not for sharing came out with dishes intended for sharing. There were only 5 of us, so this wasn't rocket science, but it was awkward for a couple of people to then add on their starters and they just let it go. Whole thing handled badly by waiter.
Steaks were phenomenal, though, and that's why you come.
Thank you!!! We came to celebrate my parent's 30th anniversary and the staff went above and beyond, they had an anniversary card for my parents at the table, they brought out champagne and dessert trio at the end!! I eat out a lot and have never experienced this kind of attention to detail. THANK YOU! My parents loved their 30th anniversary with Del Friscos. The food was incredible by the way, fish and steak cooked to perfection. The butter bread for dessert is to die for <3
Excellent food, excellent place to dine. Our waiter, Joey, was awesome! He walked us through the menu, offered suggestions, and he was spot on! Overall great place!
Del Frisco’s is our favorite! Service is always above par. Filets and Ahi cooked to perfection. Our favorite sides are the brussel sprouts, creamed spinach, lobster mac n cheese and au gratin potatoes. Make sure to try the chocolate soufflé and/or butter cake!
Great ambiance in the esquire magazine building! The wine selection and drink menu was outstanding, and of course their Crab Cakes were as promised... famously delicious. Great date night destination
Excellent wine. Attentive service. Our steak had more fat than is typical of their usual quality.
Great food and best service anyone could ask for. Management and Noah was very attentive.
Incredible food. We split the rib eye between two of us and it was the perfect amount of steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, with just the right amount of salt and pepper but no other unnecessary seasonings. The rib eye was cut right in front of us, which just added to the experience. We were brought a side of three different types of salts to sprinkle on our steaks as needed. The salts themselves were amazing.
The sides were also unbelievably good. We got the created spinach, Brussels sprouts, and potatoes. Probably the best sides I’ve ever had with a steak at a restaurant.
Great dinner & great service
This is a top shelf restaurant in a great area of Chicago. The food was amazing and full of flavor. The only negative for us was that we went for our anniversary and it wasn’t as quiet and romantic as we were looking for but that’s not the fault of the restaurant.
Came to celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday. Everything was wonderful! Daniel was so accommodating and made not only the birthday girl but all of us feel special. He knows the dishes and drinks and really ‘sold’ us on all we asked about. It was a wonderful evening and we made lasting memories. Will definitely return. Thanks again to your customer focused team.
PS the birthday card was a nice touch.
I was there 2 weeks ago celebrating my friend’s birthday. Everything was so impressive, I had to send my husband and his friend. They feel as I do.
Jameson the bartender is awesome and would go there just for drinks with him. Joey our server was very helpful, friendly and great service. Would request him again for sure.
FOOD WAS GREAT AND WAITER WAS WONDERFUL EXPLAINED EVERYTHING SINCE IT WAS FIRST TIME THERE THE LOBSTER MAC AND CHEESE WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS AND WILL DEFINITELY BE DINING AGAIN THANK YOU
Food was poor
The server, Charles, was terrific. Very engaging and energetic.
Friend’s birthday celebration with great food, friends and outstanding service.
My daughter’s birthday was well celebrated. The drinks were excellent. The crab cake and dipping shrimp appetizers were marvelous. The steaks were extraordinary. Great spot for a special occasion.
Everything was great except for the hostess. We arrived and she had the worst attitude. Didn’t ask if I wanted to check my coat and had the worst unhappy face. She looked like she hates her job.
The food was great the service was awesome and yes the food was great
I made reservations about 2 months in advance for Valentine’s Day. I arrived 5 min before my time and was told to wait and will be sent a message to my phone number. I sat and waited by the bar that is directly next to the hostess desk and never got called or sent a message. At 930 my wife tells me why are we still waiting and we should ask the front desk “what is going on with our table?”. I then asked the lady who told me to wait and she says “oh I’m sorry I thought we sent you the message” then we waited another 5 min and they seated us. This was my first experience with them and it was disappointing to have to wait that long and have my wife just sit there like that hungry. I should of left and went some place else but stayed because I already payed $20 for valet and waited so long already. They never sent a manager to apologize for my wait. What’s the point of making a reservation then?? Wouldn’t come back!!!
Terrible service food was not good and it took 2 hours to come to table
Came down for Valentine's day it was a little too urban for my taste..I was there about three years ago really great everything... Now I'm scratching my head like what happened to the ambiance, the service everything. The in crowd has moved on.. The food was underwhelming at best... I'm over it I won't be back maybe when they first opened everyone was intrigued by the newness of it all... And have quietly when back to the old reliable such as Ruth Chris, gene and georgetti, Gibson's etc
Not sure why but there was an unusual wait time for the food, almost an hour before eating. No other complaints, will be back.
food was amazing - tomyhawk steak was out of this world// favorable.. nothing over the top- perfecto meat! love the crab cakes wow... so fresh and nice portion as well. my fav sides - lobster mac n cheese and grilled mushrooms omg . I will definitely will be back. thank you for making our night amazingly special... thank you
Birthday and Valentines Celebrations
Always a great meal, always great service. Although not a negative but the menu has changed and my favorite appetizers was removed but it won’t stop me from dining here.
Absolutely incredible dinner and service! Husband had dry aged NY strip, and I had fillet and crab cake. Pure crab, no fillers. Fantastic! Cheesecake was like no other. Several inches high, and so light and delish. Topped with fresh strawberries. The entire experience creme de la creme!
