Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House - Boston Ratings and Reviews
Service, Food, Atmosphere and location are all exceptional. Perfectly prepared high quality steaks can be paired with a broad selection of wonderful reds. If you are looking for a great value lunch, there's a prix fixe option which is best enjoyed from the outside deck looking over the small marina in front of the restaurant. Though I'd recommend going the full menu to get the best. Great bar at night that doesn't impact the dining room.
Overal the food was great. I had the lamb chops and my date had the Filet Mignon. Everything was cooked properly and the food came out in a timely fashion. My biggest issue with this place was the noise level. We could barely hear each other sitting across from each other. In the end a great meal that was totally forgettable.
This was my first time dining here. I went for my anniversary and my girlfriend and I were both very pleased. We were seated right next to a window so we had a great view. I had the 12 oz. prime rib--UNREAL. Cooked to perfection (medium rare) and I enjoyed how they had me cut it open to check how it was cooked. My girlfriend had the king crab gnocchi as a meal, also extremely good. We also got the crab cakes for an appetizer--best I've ever had, hands down. The service was excellent and everyone was friendly. Will certainly be returning.
Been there several times, this time was a bit disappointing. Food was delivered that was not ours. Two steaks that were the same order were very differnet - one highly seasoned, one barely, and the asparagus was barely cooked. generally, the service is excellent and the food is great, but for $150+ per person things should be perfect.
A great time--I had flowers delivered and the set up and location (window harbor view)couldn't have been better. The manager, waiter, and staff were fantastic! The food was spectacular as usual and the service was spot on but not obtrusive. It was also Father's Day and the place was quite busy everything went like clockwork. Arguably; the best steakhouse in Boston.
We've been to DF a few times now, and REALLY enjoyed it. While the food was great this time, the service was so so. At our first table, the server turned and walked away from my mother who was handing him the wine list back. We were also seated on a very busy aisle, but the table on the other side of that aisle from me had a shopping cart sitting at the end of it, causing the waitstaff to bump me over and over until we got moved. At our second table things fared somewhat better, but the server was of cranky to say the least. The food of course was excellent. We saw one of our regular servers from our previous experience and spoke with him. If we do go back it will only be when he can wait on us!
Del Frisco's was probably one of the best restaurant's I've been to in the Boston area in a long time. Went there to celebrate Father's Day, boy what a treat for my husband. We've been long time fans of Morton's, but I have to say that Del Frisco's has definitely changed our minds. It's a great place for a special occasion or if you just want a great experience!! We will be definitely be going back soon.
Overall I love Del Frisco's however I have two points to note from when I was just there. Checking in with the hostess she was extremely unfriendly. No eye contact, no smiling, speaking very dismissively basically just waving us off to where we should stand to wait for our table. Not the greeting I'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber. Also, 4 out of 5 of the people in our party ordered steaks and not one of them was cooked right, including the $47 bone in filet. This happens time & again at high end steak houses, including Del Frisco's - I don't get it, you shouldn't charge what you do if you can't cook the steak perfectly. All sides, salads, drinks, etc. were great though, service at the table was also excellent.
We had an early reservation to celebrate my 60th birthday. We enjoyed talking to Paul, the bartender. At one point I turned from my husband to sip my delicious raspberry martini to realize that it was taken away. Paul had taken my drink and refreshed it by shaking it in the martini shaker with fresh ice. Such great service! Tom, our waiter was also terrific. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and cut like butter. The au gratin potatoes were delicious and the onion ring stack was awesome. Appetizers reminded us of ones we had in New Orleans. Tom brought me a piece of delicious cheese cake with a great nut crust and a birthday candle. The ambiance is sleek and modern open to Boston Harbor. It was a perfect night. I can't wait to go back.
Food was excellent from the seafood platter, to the steaks and ultimately the dessert. Service however was erratic and rushed, it was very busy and perhaps that's the reason but they descended on our party of 9 to clear off the appetizers and spilled the water from the seafood platter all down my husbands back, not a single one of them blinked. We mentioned to the sommelier as we were trying to wipe up the mess and she was very apologetic but not a single one of the waitstaff even acknowledged. My husband had to sit through dinner in soaking wet clothes. Despite the great food, it was our second time with bad service, reluctant to try again.
Very noisy, and packed with a young crowd, but quality of food is very good although a bit pricey: typical of a good steak house. Service was friendly & attentive. If you can overlook the decibel level and the crowds, enjoy the view including viewing planes ascending from Logan across the water. Food was cooked to perfection but the standout was the decadent Lobster Mac n Cheese and the tasty Sesame crusted Tuna.
I like my steaks rare with a char. I asked for extra char and got no char at all. All 4 people at my table got the bone in ribeye, and mine looked no different. I'm sure I could have asked for a new one, but that's a waste.
Drink pours are weak and measured. A glass of Mccallan 12 is usually over 1.5 ounces at every other top notch steakhouse.
I would recommend, but not at the top of my list for steakhouses in Boston.
Del Fresco's seated our large party early, in the pouring rain, which we really appreciated. Everything was on point, from the service to the delicious steaks and lobster mac n cheese. We had a very large party with many different challenges and they did everything just right. I highly recommend the specials as they were incredible.
Really great service and food! Even the bread was delicious. My husband and I shared the shrimp cocktail (not really a shrimp cocktail...just some nice jumbo shrimp with 3 different sauces). I was going to order the small filet and the lobster tail but they apparently only had really large (and since it's sold by the pound...really expensive) lobster tails left. So, I did the bone-in filet instead. My husband did the ribeye. Steaks were excellent. Cooked perfectly. Lots of flavor. They were a little pushy with the wine & cocktails, but the sommelier brought us a free lobster mac & cheese, so it was all good by me. It was my birthday so they brought a nice chocolate lava cake dessert. Great ambience and really cool location on the water.
We arrived for a 830pm Sunday dinner reservation. After having to move tables we recieved no waiter and no water on the table. Waited 20 min for a waiter then another 20-30 minutes between dinner and dessert. Food was tasty but the low quality service made the restaurant seem subpar when looking at the price your paying for the food and drink.
My wife and her Mom and Dad were there for dinner and from the moment they sat down my wife was subjected to a barrage of pick up lines from the waiter. Even after her dad asked him to "back off" he persisted. To the point where he brought over 2 "complimentary" side dishes and proceeded to tell my wife what time his shift ended. I have spent a lot of money on several occaisions at Del Frisco's but this was a joke.
We had been to Del Frisco's in Texas and expected the same, high end food and service. Not so.
It's trendy, it's busy, it's expensive food and service are ok. View of Boston Harbor is excellent. Go if you want to impress someone or if someone else is paying.
This has become our go-to steakhouse. Have dined at all the major steakhouses in boston, but this is our favorite and supplanted Smith & Wollensky where we sufered from poor service. The food and service is outstanding. Specialty cocktails - great variety. Appetizers - all great, but try the cheesesteak egg rolls. We have had steak, lobster, lobster tail, and duck entrees and all have been wonderful. Try the au gratin potatos and brussel sprouts. Wait staff consistently excellent - go out of their way to make the dining experience pleasant. Only issue is with the noise level-would recommend one of the booths as this seems to help. Great ambience with views of the harbor. Not cheap, but well worth the price - we have never been disappointed.
Went to Boston with my wife for our 5 year anniversary. Made reservation on line, which was very easy. Arrived on time and little wait for table. Great, attentive server. Food was delicious. Only drawback was it took well over 1 hr to get food, but it was worth the wait. My wife and I enjoyed our experience and would come back again.
Went to Del Frisco's for my 30th wedding anniversary on a Tuesday evening. When I arrived, the noise level from the bar and the dining room was so incredibly loud that I could hardly hear what the hostess was saying. The bar is immediately behind the hostess, but the dining area was equally as loud. Fortunately, we were seated outside on the patio overlooking the harbor with the airport in the distance. It was a gorgeous evening and it was calm and relatively quiet outside on the patio. The hostess did mention that they were having an "event," but if I go back, I'll be sure to sit on the patio where I can carry on a conversation. Food was done perfectly. Lemon cake was yummy! Wait staff excellent.
