My boyfriend has always been an A & L customer...until we ate here for his birthday! Th fact that Patrick remembered me from 10 months ago, who was at the table and where we actually sat was shocking! The service, the food, the Anejo Old Fashion, The Triple Petite Filet...save your money if you must. You owe it to yourself to dine at Del Frisco’s on the Waterfront at least once! You’ll be back!
The food and the view of the restaurant were spectacular. It is suitable for friends gathering and special occasions. The restaurant is extremely loud, however, it is very hard to talk and hear each other. The price is definitely high for a typical friends night. (We paid $600 for 4 people) Overall was good experience.
Been here several times, each time hoping for that great meal which should be expected at this price point...
It’s not happening, the filet mignon was difficult to cut through and under cooked twice. They were kind enough to comp the steak

The food was not up to par - for 2x $125 steaks, both had to be sent back because not cooked as requested. When they came back, it tasted more burnt than anything. Asparagus side dish was cold. Took an hour to get appetizers. It was very busy and they were trying the best they could - gave us complimentary scallops for the inconvenience, but overall not the best experience.
Unfortunately, my steak was over cooked and dry. The server asked me to cut into it when it was served, and the middle of the steak looked good (I ordered the steak medium). However, the rest of the steak was way overdone. Baked potato was also way overdone/dry. Disappointed.
The sommelier was on point! Their steaks are great the flavor and quality are top notch! Our table this time was back by the exit to the kitchen so when we first arrived and the restaurant was not busy you heard the staff yelling that they were exiting. Once the place picked up it just became less obvious in the background. Try to request waterfront! Even at night the view is amazing!
Restaurant was so smokey. Waited thirty minutes for table after reservation time. Then waited half hour to be greeted with a drink order. Then food hit table and was walked away because we were not ready. To only receive food back cold. No server to communicate it too. Dined here so many times. Price jumps almost $10-$12 a plate fine. But when service and food is bad price increase isn’t justified
Had a wonderful time. Food was delicious (Filet Mignon was phenomenal!) and service was impeccable. Chelsea, our server, and Ally, the Somalier were outstanding!
The only negative was the noise level - loud booming music that was more suitable for a nightclub- during the entire meal. We spend a LOT of money to dine here and w everything being 4+ stars, it’s too bad something as minor as the choice of music and level of volume could keep Del Friscos from perfection.
Unfortunately on this occasion the service and food was not up the the usual standards of previous visits, the service was lackluster, we had to ask several times for items that were forgotten, such as the two extra shrimp, salad dressing and lastly the French Fries.
The waiter at times did not seem to have his full attention on the table, maybe too rushed as we were in the Bar area and it was very busy, would have much preferred to have sat in the dining room and in the future will ask for the dining room.
It seems like the success of the restaurant is maybe accepting that fact that it will always be busy, don't rest on the laurels, things can change very quickly in the industry, we will be back, please pay attention to the details like you have you done in the past.
We waited for about ten minutes for our table, standing awkwardly in the vestibule while patrons came and left and the hostesses (four or more) avoided eye contact. (I was surprised that nobody offered to take our coat.)
The soundtrack was mind-bogglingly inappropriate for what I assumed was supposed to be an upscale experience, with driving rock at a volume verging on uncomfortable.
Once seated at a table with a fabulous view of the waterfront, however, the service was seamless - our waiter, Brendan, was friendly and helpful but not invasive. This was the most positive aspect of our experience.
There were other surprises: the presentation of the shrimp cocktail on a bread plate looked like something a chef would slip to a preferred server at the end of a shift, not a >$20 appetizer, and the cabernet goat cheese came out curdled, looking off-putting. I am not especially fussy, but I think that at $150/person for a two-course meal, it is reasonable to expect some care taken about presentation.
The best part of the meal, by far, was the spaghetti squash with pistachios.
There is something crass about the place; rather than justifying its pretensions with an appropriately upscale experience, I think you are meant to be intimidated by the ostentatious atmosphere and prices. The food and the overall experience don't stand up to its competitors in the upscale steakhouse game.
As is the case with all Del Friscos, food and service is second to none, the Del Friscos allows a great view of the water with any table in this establishment.

I do wish the lounge bar area had more seating, even when you are standing by the bar area people are constantly saying excuse me as they try to maneuver.
Great food but crappy service. Might be better to go on a weekday. My fiancé’s lamb was cold and undercooked, and the waiter took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine and forgot about one of our drink orders. The food is expensive but very good, I wish there was better service. We have been twice now and have had the same experience both times. Also, even if you have a reservation they make you wait 10-15 minutes at the entrance, for no apparent reason.
Service and food were very good. Our table however was not good, my chair kept getting bumped from people walking by and I had to get up twice in the middle of eating to let people pass by. When you pay over 600.00 for dinner the whole experience should be very good.
Able to book for Thanksgiving at the last minute after an open table snafu. The food was excellent. There was no rush, view was exquisite. The soup, salad and turkey special were delicious but the appetizers from the regular menu (crab cake and calamari) were even better. The string beans weren’t done enough for me and were tough (but I’m Irish and like my veggies well cooked). The desserts offered with the special were ok, would have appreciated an apple pie choice for Thanksgiving. Servers and staff were very attentive. Would definitely recommend.
Having been here several times in the past, our favorite Boston steakhouse disappointed tonight, despite knowing it was my girlfriend's birthday. The stone crab was not well-cracked (irretrievable from the shell on 2/3 claws), and when this was pointed out, they didn't remedy the problem but instead gave us a lobster cracker (?!?). The oysters were not well-shucked. The sommelier provided a great recommendation, but actually suggested that he wouldn't be upset if we offered to share a glass (which we often do, but not when it's suggested up front). The waitress completely disappeared after our entrees. And while the complimentary birthday dessert was appreciated, not even offering the menu seemed presumptuous. Next time we drop four figures on a great dinner, I have to admit reservations about this being our first choice.
Had 5:30 reservation on Sunday for my wife's Birthday. Seated with great window view. Fiz, our waiter was excellent, attentive and informative. App of shrimp cocktail with 3 sauces was very good. Entrees were from Sunday special prix fixe menu. Both ordered wedge salad, 8oz filet and crab cake with side of baked potato and wild mushrooms. Wife's potato was ice cold. Her crab cake was cold as well, and her filet, ordered medium rare, was rare. My filet, ordered medium was rare as well. Told Fiz, who sent manager over, Matt, I believe, who was very concerned, but we didn't make a big deal about it. Didn't have time to send it all back. They gave us desert on the house which was nice, but the overall experience on her special day was disappointing. May give it another try in the future.
I suggest you make a reservation. When you arrive, have a cocktail at the bar. The level of service you receive here is top notch from the moment you walk in to the moment you exit. Beautiful way to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you Sean or Shawn at the bar. Thank you Elissa Pablo for the ultimate experience.
