Amazing food but the service was - how shall I put it - disjointed at best. First our hostess tried to seat us right near the entrance. We asked to be seated in the restaurant itself. Then she showed us a table with a banquet without a chair right next to a huge party. There were PLENTY of open tables throughout the restaurant so this was bizarre. Service was pleasant enough but everyone acted like they were in a huge rush. I don't get it - for these prices, you should have a service level to match.
I invited my family out for a holiday dinner after a show in Boston.
My filet mignon was dry , I switched with my husband his was better.
The appetizer was burnt. Only to find out my nephew’s steak was served cold.
When I’m paying $69 for a steak I have $69 expectations.
I make a better filet at home.
Fantastic meal and great service! We will be back!
Best steak I ever had
Poor service and very slow to bring us our food
Over priced, ostentatious wine list, and the filet I had at $67 was very disappointing.
A lot of show, but not worth it by a long shot.
The waiter did a good job and was very attentive. My only complaint was that there were three burgers on the table (lunch) and everyone one was extremely overcooked. It was a quiet Sunday lunch time reservation, so the kitchen wasn’t slammed. Being a steak house, I think being able to cook meat, the way the guests ordered it, is important. They were so obviously over cooked, I think the kitchen should have corrected the problem, before the were sent out. Otherwise all our other food was good. We had a good time and would go again.
Food was superb, but service was very slow, even though it wasn’t busy.. Glasses of red wine ordered with our steaks, arrived after we were done with our entrees- Also, they piped rap music into the dining room- very loud and inappropriate. Management needs to fix these things to make it a top experience.
Everything was great!! From service to food!! One of our favorite places to to dine!! Can’t wait for our next visit
Our waiter Russ was exceptional. It was a little loud due to a party and the large part of the dining room was closed
What a fabulous restaurant to celebrate my daughter becoming a lawyer! We were a party of 6, and the entire staff was so attentive to us. Fabulous meal, and was very conscientious to food allergies, and specifics for steak preparation. Appetizers, main course (STEAK to die for), and desserts were all spectacular. The wine list is so impressive. Something for everyone! Thank you again.
The music was a bit louder than I would expect for an elegant steakhouse.
Outstanding steaks and food. Overall one of the best steak houses in Boston.
It was the worst steak house I’ve ever been the food was horrible, the service sucked.... I ordered the wagu tasting for 160 and it came out over done and the waitress told me it’s because of the steaks are so little... really omgggg was poor excuse everything was bad. I got a bad vibe as soon as I walked in it was dead no noise boring as hell....
Sent steak back and did not eat. Was not cooked anywhere near correctly.
Always agood meal at del Frisco's - Good food and great service. It's one of our go to splurge places.
As always, great experience highly recommend
It’s good but I don’t think it was my favorite
I feel badly writing this review, but the food was so average it was sad. The service was not good at all. Took 30 min to get a cocktail. The burger was dry. Not sure how the porterhouse was that was ordered at our table. The price was high for the quality. With Abe & Louies and Capital Grill within two blocks I would NOT recommend Del Friscos.
We have had two fairly recent excellent experiences at this location celebrating important milestones (a 21st birthday and a 50th birthday), as well as other family and friend dinners. However, our recent experience is likely our last. Our waiter advised us to wait to order appetizers until we were ready to order the entire meal for optimal timing (first time ever at any restaurant being told to do so, yet somehow never have an issue.) We waited an extremely long time between appetizers and entrees. When entrees arrived, 2 of 8 steaks were over done but eaten anyway as the wait for entrees was so long and people didn't want to wait for a replacement (these were taken off our bill.) I was informwd after dinner that another steak was very fatty (a filet, so not expected and mine was great), mashed potatoes were dry and hard, and the caesar salads were brown and wilted, but not until after we left so there was no opportunity for the restaurant to address at the time. The server did bring us dessert at no charge, but did not ask if anyone wanted any other dessert before they were served. Someone had wanted something else but did not want to further extend the dinner by asking after dessert had arrived (waiter was MIA in between.) When we finished our dessert, we couldn't get our waiter's attention to take the check and had to ask the maitre d to flag him down. The maitre d tried to help, but I was angry and embarrassed that the experience and food were lacking for my family and guests. At this price point, inconsistencies in food quality and poor service are unacceptable. There are many alternative choices for quality steak and seafood within a few blocks. The restaurant seemed understaffed but that is something they should manage. We have found service better at the seaport location, but Back Bay had been our go to place for steak in Boston as it is a little less crowded-now not sure if we will visit either location in the future.
Very nice atmosphere. Our server understood this was a business lunch and did a excellent job.
Excellent lunch choice near Copley Square. Best wine list in Boston. Wait staff was attentive and upbeat.
delay in the allocation of reserved table and bad and poor attention of the waitress
ADDENDUM: WE RECEIVED A CALL FROM STEVE
HOLSTEIN, GM OF DEL FRISCO’S, IN RESPONSE TO OUR REVIEW. HE WAS GENUINELY APOLOGETIC AND TRULY INTERESTED IN OUR EXPERIENCE. HE SINCERELY WANTED TO LEARN WHAT HAPPENED SO THAT HE COULD ENSURE IN THE FUTURE ANOTHER GUEST WOULD NOT HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE. THANK YOU AND WE WILL ABSOLUTELY RETURN TO DEL FRISCO!
Disappointing experience. We were celebrating our anniversary. The restaurant is beautiful but the service poor and inattentive. The shrimp cocktail tasting Trio and salmon Crudo tasty But we waited 40 minutes for a cheeseburger that was ice cold. French fries piping hot!!! We were told that they let their meat “sit” – we eat at fine restaurants several times a week and never heard the excuse the meat is served cold because they wanted to sit. Unfortunately after waiting 40 minutes for a meal we had to leave- hungry. We couldn’t wait another 40 minutes! Our server told she would bring us the check when I mentioned the table next to us was also celebrating their anniversary. The table next to us had rose petals on their table and I overheard their server offer Prosecco or dessert which we were not offered. Our reservation clearly noted we were celebrating our anniversary and a card was placed on our table- the restaurant was well aware of our celebration. It is disappointing that I had to say anything. Our server did not give us the same offering initially but did bring over dessert after I said something. Not the celebration we had anticipated.
All was fabulous for my son’s 19th birthday and freshman away from home in Chicago at college. Only knock was that they did not have the sea bass from the menu and suggested the salmon which was overcooked and crab under it was like ghoulish and not good. I didn’t share my dissatisfaction with the server and that was my fault. The steaks the boys all had were great and service was wonderful. Fun place that we will do again, but no salmon.
I wish I could give more stars. Amazing evening. I can’t wait to go back.
Cane was an amazing server - one of the best I’ve had! Food was also excellent!
Took 2.5 hours to get our food. They ran out of items we ordered 2 hours earlier and didn't let us know until 3 minutes before they brought the food out. Nobody came by our table to let us know what was taking so long and it wasn't until we asked to speak with the manager. I've been to other Del Frisco's which were wonderful experiences but after this time, we won't be going back.
This place was amazing from start to finish. Will definitely be going back
Great will def be back. Delicious food and great service
Fabulous food as always and William was a fantastic server. Answered all our questions and gave some delicious recommendations. Thank you!
Waiter was MIA most of the time, didn’t see him at all except when ordering, serving the food and when we got the bill, servers kept squeezing between our table and the next and spilled stuff on my coat without realizing. The double eagle steak was an appalling disappointment (burnt and dry outside and red and raw inside - we had asked for medium rare). Our attentive busboy and the appetizer (crab cakes and foie gras) saved the day.
Our server was awesome!
Overall good, not great, pleasurable experience not quite amazing
Incredible service, beautiful restaurant, and the highest quality food around.
Very nice the best in Boston
Our evening was wonderful all the way around. It started out with a GREAT server, Steven F. He and the staff made the night wonderful. The appetizers he recommended--duck confit meatballs and crab cake were phenomenal. The staff kept our water glasses filled and checked in just the right number of times. Our steaks were cooked perfectly which we expected. Then they finished the night with a birthday surprise that put the icing on the cake. Their signature butter cake is out of this world. We will be returning just for that amazing dessert. But, overall, the service by Steven F. really made everything come together. He was an exceptional waiter at a fabulous restaurant. Highly recommended!
We were given excellent service and the food was superb. The seafood plateau for two was the best platter I believe I ever had.
My wife and I shared the crab cakes and filet mignon tips with a side dish of cream corn. The crab cakes in my estimations are at least 90% lump crab meat with large chucks of lump crab meat, the filet was very tender. The side of cream corn was plenty for three or four persons to share and was exceptional. To finish off the we shared a slice of the lemon cake with a butter cream frosting. There was no way we could finish it, so sharing a piece was no problem.
I would definitely recommend going here if you are looking for a nice special dinner
