Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse - Back Bay Boston
Just ok. Apps were cold. Service was slow. Steak and sides were good! Seaport location is much better in my opinion.
My wife didn't like the steak rub flavor which made it harder to feel good about spending the $$$$. My son and I enjoyed our dry-aged prime rib steaks.
The staff is so helpful and goes the extra mile for all of our needs.
Great Dinning Experience.
Beautiful Restaurant, Steak were some of the best in Boston. Wine List was very extensive
Our server was very nice but everything else fell short. Food was average in taste and over priced. Side dishes that we ordered - mushrooms (over-seasoned) and potatoes au gratin (not true au gratin - cubes of overcooked potatoes with excessive amounts of cheese). But besides this, the main issue is that my husband and I made a reservation for a romantic New Years celebration and the table that we were seated at was completely inappropriate- it was in the bar area and not main dining!!!! The music was extremely loud and lighting was very sterile (bright white lights) - not at all what you would expect for a nice steak dinner in the Prudential tower on New Years Day. Other couples complained as well about the same issue. Very unfortunate as we will not be returning.
NYE dinner with family. The service was great especially with 3 kids.
Happy new year!
Food quality was excellent. we had the crab cakes , filet, bone in steak, calamari and cocktail shrimp. We asked about other menu items for the younger members of our group and our server told us there were no other items. Luckily we spotted cheeseburgers being served to another table and checked. “Yes, we have cheeseburgers”. We ordered it, And it was huge and delicious. So if you have younger diners (children), Ask for details about other menu options, they definitely offer them.
Service was very slow. From taking our order , clearing plates , offering drink refills. All very, very slow.
It pains me to say we had a terrible experience at Del Frisco’s this evening. First off, we were seated right next to the front door in the bar area. We were told the main dining room would not be open this evening (Friday night). Typically this would be fine as the food and service would surely make up for a bad table location. Not tonight. After our server, who never introduced herself, took my wife’s drink order she asked if we were ready to order dinner. Um, do I not get a drink? And can we have some time to look over the menu? After I asked for a drink the server said you never mentioned anything so I assumed you did not want a drink. What? She never asked if I wanted a drink. It went further downhill from there. After one of our sides did not come out the server said we never order that side. I thought I was in Twilight Zone after my wife confirmed we did make the order. I can go on and on with different instances of bad service but am to angry to continue. Needless to say we will not be back to this Del Frisco’s location and most likely Del Frisco’s at all.
The worst experience ever we had in any restaurants in Boston. Waited 45 minutes after putting our drink order to get our drinks, and that was after we complained to another server, & half of the orders were wrong. We got the foods exactly 2 hours after we put the orders in. Food & service is a lot better at Capital Grill. Will never go back.
Food, drinks and service are always great
Celebrated my parent’s 61st anniversary. Cocktail waitress Jen was great. Our server Krista and staff were fabulous throughout our meal. Food was excellent!
Food and service was excellent. They also have a great wine list, although overpriced.
Food was terrific. Noise level was unfortunate uncomfortable.
First, food is excellent!
I made lunch reservation to entertain two top clients. I called ahead and told hostess that I wanted to hand her a credit card prior to being seated to avoid my generous company’s normal offer to always treat me.
The basic premise of this review is the service was average at best and our server was way too familiar with us. When reciting specials, she was hard to understand. When we asked her to repeat herself, she said she had her Invisalign’s in which hamper her articulation. Really?
Once dessert was dropped, she disappeared. No offer for refills on coffee. It was almost 3pm and restaurant had definitely died down.
I finally had to ask to check. Different server brought folio- my cc was missing. She knew nothing about it. She tracked down our original server who arrived to table explaining she was dealing with another tables food? Again, just apologize-don’t make excuses. Anyway- she - knew nothing about cc. She had to track down manager who clearly blew off my request. Very embarrassing. Lunch for 3 was over $250. Service definitely doesn’t support this caliber of establishment.
I phoned after I saw my clients out and spoke to manager who semi - feigned concern and told me he’d look into where breakdown was.
I went here right after restaurant opened and it was perfect. What a disappointment.
Two days later...no follow up. I'd go to Abe and Louie's, Moo...or Boston Chops before spending a dime in this place. They appreciate their customers and treat them royally.
It’s a better place for casual dining. We went there for our anniversary and didn’t find the ambiance one that would reflect that. Steaks are good, the chicken not so much.
Ross, our server, was awesome! We've dined here before and all our servers were great but Ross was exceptional! He was great with the kids and did a great job of explaining the "Aged" process to them!
Food was horrible
Service was almost non-existent. It took 25 minutes to place our order, another 20 minutes to get drinks, and another 30 minutes for salads/soup to arrive. Entrees took another 30 minutes after the appetizer plates were cleared. When we inquired about our entrees, our server made a snide remark about it being a bad day. No apologies or explanation about the kitchen being short staffed (in which case we would have been understanding) or other gesture of customer care. Ten minutes after delivering our entrees, the server handed us the bill, saying "Here's your bill in case you're in a rush." Needless to say, we won't return.
Service was beyond excellent. Apps, sides and more were really good.
Three steaks had to be sent back. One twice. Not the best for a steak place.
The service was all over the place. I realize it’s holiday time, and the restaurant had a couple private parties going on- but regular service shouldn’t be neglected. Change of servers 3x. Late first round of drinks. Oysters were full of shells- I’ve eaten oysters all over the city. I know it happens. But to have both types of oysters on 4 different shells be full of pieces, that shucker needs to slow down. Took forever to get our dinner (the table next to us were served before us and they arrived after us -same number of guests, and we only ordered oysters as apps). Hot tea order with dessert came out when we were done with dessert. The food was good. And it was hot- which was appreciated.
The staff were wonderful but the meal was lacking. The Brussels Sprouts were not cooked thoroughly, with larger one being very hard that you needed your steak knife to cut them and the mashed potatoes tasted dry as if they were cooked hours prior and kept under heat. Although our two sides were taken off the bill you would expect these sides to be flawless.
Great service, ambiance and food! Highly recommended
Amazing food but the service was - how shall I put it - disjointed at best. First our hostess tried to seat us right near the entrance. We asked to be seated in the restaurant itself. Then she showed us a table with a banquet without a chair right next to a huge party. There were PLENTY of open tables throughout the restaurant so this was bizarre. Service was pleasant enough but everyone acted like they were in a huge rush. I don't get it - for these prices, you should have a service level to match.
I invited my family out for a holiday dinner after a show in Boston.
My filet mignon was dry , I switched with my husband his was better.
The appetizer was burnt. Only to find out my nephew’s steak was served cold.
When I’m paying $69 for a steak I have $69 expectations.
I make a better filet at home.
Fantastic meal and great service! We will be back!
Best steak I ever had
Poor service and very slow to bring us our food
Over priced, ostentatious wine list, and the filet I had at $67 was very disappointing.
A lot of show, but not worth it by a long shot.
The waiter did a good job and was very attentive. My only complaint was that there were three burgers on the table (lunch) and everyone one was extremely overcooked. It was a quiet Sunday lunch time reservation, so the kitchen wasn’t slammed. Being a steak house, I think being able to cook meat, the way the guests ordered it, is important. They were so obviously over cooked, I think the kitchen should have corrected the problem, before the were sent out. Otherwise all our other food was good. We had a good time and would go again.
Food was superb, but service was very slow, even though it wasn’t busy.. Glasses of red wine ordered with our steaks, arrived after we were done with our entrees- Also, they piped rap music into the dining room- very loud and inappropriate. Management needs to fix these things to make it a top experience.
Everything was great!! From service to food!! One of our favorite places to to dine!! Can’t wait for our next visit
Our waiter Russ was exceptional. It was a little loud due to a party and the large part of the dining room was closed
What a fabulous restaurant to celebrate my daughter becoming a lawyer! We were a party of 6, and the entire staff was so attentive to us. Fabulous meal, and was very conscientious to food allergies, and specifics for steak preparation. Appetizers, main course (STEAK to die for), and desserts were all spectacular. The wine list is so impressive. Something for everyone! Thank you again.
The music was a bit louder than I would expect for an elegant steakhouse.
Outstanding steaks and food. Overall one of the best steak houses in Boston.
It was the worst steak house I’ve ever been the food was horrible, the service sucked.... I ordered the wagu tasting for 160 and it came out over done and the waitress told me it’s because of the steaks are so little... really omgggg was poor excuse everything was bad. I got a bad vibe as soon as I walked in it was dead no noise boring as hell....
