Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse - Back Bay Boston
Amazing dry aged strip loin - well worth the expense !
Unfortunately our anniversary dinner was a total failure. Attention to service was lacking as well quality in steaks that you would expect at Del Frisco’s. Not sure that I would go back to this location again.
The bartenders need to be replaced. How do you have an elevated place and then put these girls behind the bar, I have no idea. I am a Boston Fine diner and literally couldn't believe the attitude they had with us, how loud the bartenders were with each other and how bothered they were to wait on us! Pull yourself together and look attractive for a place like this. So, we walked out and went to Strip by Strega and enjoyed our meal there at the bar with amazing service and bartenders! Then went across the street to Abe & Louie's for the best drinks and chocolate cake you will eat. If you want Del Frisco's go to the waterfront instead, it's amazing but not the one at the Prudential center!
My wife and I had an excellent meal here on June 14th to celebrate our 25th anniversary. We were seated immediately upon our arrival and met with a “Happy Anniversary” card from the restaurant. Our waiter was Matthew (Matt) who was extremely knowledgeable about the menu choices and wine selections and was very attentive and friendly. I ordered a 12 oz filet and my wife had the crab cake entree and we paired the dishes with mushrooms and asparagus sides; both of us had the Del salad to start. We ordered an Oregon Pinot Noir which paired well with both meals. The team delivered both courses with appropriate timing; not rushed. The manager came by to ensure we were pleased with our meals part-way through. After our meal, we were treated by management with a complementary Butter Cake with Maple Pecan ice cream and a hazelnut cake. We shared the Butter Cake which we couldn’t finish. Overall, a fantastic dining experience. Shout out to Matt for looking after us so well. Next time we’re in Boston, we hope to be back!
Dinner guest and I both had strip steaks. Perfectly prepared and delicious, better than other steak houses in the area.
Excellent shrimp cocktail as well.
Besides the fact that I asked for the remainder of my Wagyu long bone steak to go and didn't receive it (that's $60 WORTH OF MEAT) the food was low. Never will be eating here again.
We enjoyed the food and atmosphere however as lively as the staff were there seemed to be a disconnect with our table. Unusual wait time for appetizers and waitress constantly bringing us another tables food?
This is a fancy chain. The food is excellent. They have non-steak offerings for those who do not want red meat, although that is what they are known for. The steaks are expensive, but I guess they are supposed to be. Most of us had fish, and it was really well prepared. The service was excellent and friendly. The prices were high but not unreasonable.
Just not worth the money...missed a crab cake on one order.
Tom Grella is the best server hands down. Had an amazing time. Oh and the steaks are the best too.
We wanted to try the Seaport location, but could not get a reservation for over 4 weeks on a Saturday. The Food was very good, it can be compared to Abe and Louie's, Morton's, Ruth Chris and Capital Grille.
It was not a special occassion, the atmosphere was modern, very clean and not too loud, you were able to hold a conversation. Service was good, did not offer a wine list, had to ask. There is no valet parking and when parking in the recommended garage there is a walk. The menu was limited, AI think Capital Grille and Abe and Louie's has a better variety.
I would try it, everyone has a different take...
I had the salmon and my guest had the catch of the day simply prepared. Both were prepared perfectly.
The flavor of the fish came through without the need for all the "sauces" that other places pile on.
Had been before and it was 4+ star; went for a very early dinner / 4:45; waiter was great - meat was bad; literally - it smelled and tasted like it was just on the verge of going bad. Should have sent it back; especially for the price. From now on it’s back to Capital Grille (or Moo, The Palm, Abe & Louie’s, etc.)
We were in town for our son’s graduation from Harvard Business School and wanted to have a celebratory dinner. Everything was just wonderful.
Our waitress was wonderful - but the service was so slow
Horrible experience. I booked a reservation at Del Frisco’s for a much anticipated “girl’s night out.” My best friends dad passed away the week before and she just needed to be with her best girlfriends, have a nice meal, and enjoy a night out in Boston. The service was marginal, food took over an hour & 20 minutes to be served (and it wasn’t busy). Then (to add insult to injury) the floor in main dining room was covered in water from melted ice from champagne service, and I slipped and fell hard on my knee. Suffice to say we WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!
Big shout out to our waiter and the manager from last Thursday night! They ran out of my favorite VIP cocktail, which I had been looking forward to for a long time. The waiter and manager went over and above to compensate for this issue. I really, really appreciate it and it shows their professionalism.
everything was great. the service was great. The only thing was that it was clear that the staff is tasked with up-charging everything. "You can add this" extra charge. "You can have it this way" extra charge. Extra charge, extra charge, extra charge. Everything was an extra charge and they push it on you relentlessly. It reminded me of the Friends "I wanna quit the gym" episode. You really have to be on top of it or you've suddenly doubled your bill.
Excellent menu and services ! Will definitely go back again great environment!
If you are looking for a steak house with a modern flare Del Frisco's is for you.
Everything about the restaurant, the service , the food and the cocktails was amazing. No complaints whatsoever. Steaks cooked perfectly and service was attentive without being overbearing. I highly recommend!
My experience was flawless. Quick and speedy service with the wonderful and kind staff made the experience all the more worth it.
My son graduated from Law School and we had 14 people traveling from California to see him graduate - Del Friscos made it a very special lunch accommodating a party of 15 and our server Jensen was amazing
Our service was very poor. We waited and waited for our food. We bought a bottle of wine to have with dinner. Wine glasses came and were not clean so we sent back. Waited again for the clean glasses and the wine to arrive. The we WAITED AGAIN for the food. No one came over to check in on us. Restaurant was only half full. We could not get anyones attention. One of us had to get up and find a manager. We finished the bottle (we each had a glass - there were 5 of us drinking slowly). So when the food finally arrived we had no wine to go with it. Ordered another bottle which came halfway thru the entree. They took dessert orders. 2 ordered expresso martini for dessert. One of us was celebrating a bday so they brought out his favorite dessert. And yep we waited again for a long time - we were ready to leave and they brought us the martinis. We did get comped the wine and drink. Food was good but not outstanding for the price. With so many very good steak houses in Boston - will go somewhere with better service.
Don’t even bother making a reservation. Had one for 845 didn’t even get seated till 930
Reservation at 8:30pm, did not get seated until 9:00pm (I was bringing guests!?). While waiting to be seated at the bar we asked the bartender for wine suggestion, to which he responded “I can read the whole list for you but I don’t have the time”. At dinner, server spilled meat sauce onto my friend’s jacket, and did not know what to do.
The food is always excellent, our server started out great, but as the meal went on the service fell off a little, but ultimately she still did a good job, just forgot a few things. Also very annoyingly there were fruit flies or something like that flying around the whole time we were there, and you could see 2 or 3 of them on the walls they kept flying in your field of vision, very annoying.
Everything meal and service wise was remarkable but the radio station that was playing just did not fit the mood or atmosphere of such a nice dining experience
There were fruit flies everywhere. It’s likely a problem from cleanliness at the bar. Service was a little slow when our group arrived. Food was really good though. Given the prices were at the highest end of streak houses, I expected a lot more. In the future I will likely choose other steak houses based on my experience.
I would recommend for the food only. Service was severely lacking. I've had far better service at mediocre chain restaurants than I did here.
Unfortunately it was an upset experience for mother's day. More than food took so long to arrive, such 90 minutes, it was nothing good. At the end Manager try to repair things by not charging all the food. Nice try but I had a disaster mothers day.
Our server was everything! Her energy, the way she described the food, the attention she gave us! We are all super happy with our choice for Our Mother’s Day celebration
Service was bad. They could not get the food out of the kitchen. After being seated 2 hrs. later we had still not been served. Manager ended up comping our meal. People in table next to ours were so upset they just walked out and didn"t wait for food. Asked waiter if I could get my eggs scrambled on Eggs Benedict and they told me they couldn"t do it.
Overall it was a good experience. My main complaint is how greedy they were with the the amount of lobster that they put in both the main entree and then “lobster Mac and cheese”. The lobster Mac and cheese was more like Mac and cheese that a few bits of lobster fell into by accident. In my option it was a misrepresentation to even call it lobster Mac and cheese. They should just call it “breadcrumbs Mac and cheese”.
The restaurant was not busy but our meal took about 21/2 hours, perhaps an hour too long. Really slow but our server was great. My steak was undercooked.
Unfortunately not really prepared for the Mother’s Day brunch. Kitchen was way behind and food took almost an hour to arrive. There was one brunch special, but otherwise it was only the full dinner menu. Very limited choices and very expensive. Please stick to dinners only as steaks here have been wonderful and experience great in the past.
Place opened up right at the time of our reservation. We then were seated immediately and put in order fairly quickly. Waited well over an hour to be served and the steak was dry and burned when asked for medium. Worst service and the menu was not enough brunch menu items for 11 on a Sun
I have never been to this new location and I wanted to try it out. I go to a lot of high end restaurant and the service here was just disappointing!!!
In the beginning, our server, Zen started with us and he never mentioned we are going to work with other personnel as our server. We were left alone most of the time although we wanted to order more drinks from time to time. So when we were left alone, our desire to order drinks went down.
The "new" server came in and basically shoved everything down to us. Like, how is everything and do we need anything? She doesn't really care. If you guys cared, we would not be left alone for 40-50 minutes.
The food took a while to come out due to the lack of attention from our server! However, the table next to us, their appetizer came out a lot quicker than ours!
We checked in at 7:30pm. The front desk did not seat us down after 20+ minutes later. There were no one in the area which we sat down. Bascially WTF.
Are you guys discriminating customer due to their race? I am very disappointed based on everything.
Opentable can show you how many places I have been to in Boston. Trust me, I would not have left this negative review if I was not forced to!
Graduation went great!
Overbooked, waiter substandard, food not worth the price, factory feel. We won't be back.
