Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steakhouse - Back Bay Boston
Fabulous food as always and William was a fantastic server. Answered all our questions and gave some delicious recommendations. Thank you!
Waiter was MIA most of the time, didn’t see him at all except when ordering, serving the food and when we got the bill, servers kept squeezing between our table and the next and spilled stuff on my coat without realizing. The double eagle steak was an appalling disappointment (burnt and dry outside and red and raw inside - we had asked for medium rare). Our attentive busboy and the appetizer (crab cakes and foie gras) saved the day.
Our server was awesome!
Overall good, not great, pleasurable experience not quite amazing
Incredible service, beautiful restaurant, and the highest quality food around.
Very nice the best in Boston
Our evening was wonderful all the way around. It started out with a GREAT server, Steven F. He and the staff made the night wonderful. The appetizers he recommended--duck confit meatballs and crab cake were phenomenal. The staff kept our water glasses filled and checked in just the right number of times. Our steaks were cooked perfectly which we expected. Then they finished the night with a birthday surprise that put the icing on the cake. Their signature butter cake is out of this world. We will be returning just for that amazing dessert. But, overall, the service by Steven F. really made everything come together. He was an exceptional waiter at a fabulous restaurant. Highly recommended!
We were given excellent service and the food was superb. The seafood plateau for two was the best platter I believe I ever had.
My wife and I shared the crab cakes and filet mignon tips with a side dish of cream corn. The crab cakes in my estimations are at least 90% lump crab meat with large chucks of lump crab meat, the filet was very tender. The side of cream corn was plenty for three or four persons to share and was exceptional. To finish off the we shared a slice of the lemon cake with a butter cream frosting. There was no way we could finish it, so sharing a piece was no problem.
I would definitely recommend going here if you are looking for a nice special dinner
We did not have a good experience at this DelFrisco’s In Boston’s Back bay as we have had at the one in Manhattan or the waterfront in Boston. We waited a half hour to be seated from our scheduled reservation. There were no apologies. We were looking forward to a nice steak dinner, which did not happen.
We know the quality of the food, since we frequent the NYC restaurant often. The steak at this restaurant was the worst we have had at any reputable steakhouse. It was tough and cold. We were extremely disappointed and dissatisfied since we expected a better quality cut of meat, especially for the cost.
The service was not up to par. We waited a significant amount of time for each course. The table wasn’t cleared in a timely manner. Definitely will not patronize this establishment in the future.
Great environment, but inexperienced staff who got much of our meal wrong. A real disappointment for nearly $500 for a party of four.
LOVED this restaurant! They absolutely took note that my husband and I had just gotten married and provided us with glasses of champagne and a card that the waitstaff had all signed. We had to wait a bit for our table but grabbed a drink in the beautiful bar area! We shared the crab cake and oysters as an appetizer, and split the caesar salad. Entrees were fantastic - I had the prime strip, and my husband had the "double eagle" - both of which were cooked to perfection. The creamed spinach and "uptown Del's potato" were insanely delicious as side dishes. My one and only critique was that I did ask our waiter for a "full bodied white wine that would pair well with the steak", as I didn't want red wine that evening. He suggested a particular chardonnay, which I'd heard of, and I took him up on it. When we got the bill, to our surprise, it was a $30 glass. While we weren't sparing any expense on our meal as we're still in our "honeymoon" phase, another person might not be as accommodating as we were.
All in all, I would 100% recommend Del Frisco's to anyone looking for amazing food, service, and ambiance!
this is our second time here. Same experience both times...food excellent, service chaotic. they really need to figure out how to train the team better. with Abe and Louis across the street and the Capital Grille a block away, great food only wont cut it. They both have great food and great service.
The meal and service were outstanding. Steak was cooked perfectly. And the Octopus appetizer was excellent. The desserts were enormous and incredible. The wine while amazing is well over priced for restaurants. Most bottles were 3 to 4 times normal retail prices. Many bottles I would have chosen if they were priced accordingly.
Food wasnt just there in flavour and in preparation. Service was very slow(e.g food served efore drinks) waitress was never around
Had a reservation and got seated on time. However, we were seated in the lounge and it was very noisy - the music was loud. Two of us ordered the dry age rib eye Pittsburgh style. They were out of that steak by 8pm on a Friday night. We went with the double eagle which was good but since e both ordered Pittsburgh it was not as good as what we went there for. Lastly, I mentioned being sat in the lounge and was unable to ask the manager why as they never came to the table - this was my 7th time in the restaurant for dinner so my expectations were not met on this trip. I have a reservation on the 2nd at the seaport so we will give it another try.
Awesome food and great people helping at Del Frisco’s
Not great- 2 of our steaks were way over cooked- they brought out new ones- one was fine the other was well done again- they comp’d it but at that point we were just done .They were extremely apologetic which was nice and tried everything to make it better so I’ll give them credit for that. The service in general
was super slow 3 hours for dinner on a Tuesday night seems ridiculous- the whole place was empty so I am not sure why it took so long. While the actual food and service was a bust the people were very nice.
DISAPPOINTED IN SERVICE
HAD A LARGE GROUP OF 11 PEOPLE THAT WERE FROM OUT OF TOWN. WENT ON A MONDAY NIGHT AND PLACE WAS VIRTUALLY EMPTY. THAT'S WHY I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE LACK OF SERVICE. FOOD WAS GOOD, VERY PRICEY BUT I KNEW THAT. DID LIKE THE AMBIANCE, IT'S THE NICEST OF THE DELFRISCO'S IN BOSTON.
It was a test visit to see if we can use this venue for client event.. Terrible service and loud techno music. It’s horrific. we will be sure not to return!
We were very excited to go out for dinner but unfortunately our experience was terrible. Even though we had a reservation, we had to wait 45 minutes for our table. The restaurant had a lot of empty tables so i am assuming they were severely understaffed (proved that way as we had to ask multiple times for our drinks because they never arrived). We asked our steak without black pepper because of a FOOD ALLERGY. It arrived 45 minutes later full of black pepper. Our side arrived 5 minutes later, also with black pepper. After waiting close to 2 hours, for the food we did not want (our could) eat, we felt DEFEATED. Would NOT recommend this place even to my worst enemy.
Amazing from drinks at the bar all the way to dessert
The service at Del Friscos was excellent. However the quality of my wife's filet and the quality of its preparation did not match the price of the meal. I would go to Hanover Chop house, Pellanas or Teresa's prime instead.
As always fabulous food wine and service!
Everybody and everything was exceptional!
The service was top notch. Restaurant was too noisy. Very extensive wine list, but overprices. Would chose Capital Grill or Abe & Louie’s next time.
Excellent meat. Very good service
We left the restaurant after waiting for over a half hour for a reservation. They said that “Open Table doesn’t know how many seats they actually have when people reserve online “. Poor excuse for a high end restaurant. I was willing to spend a lot of money for dinner as a treat to my boyfriend and decided that Del Frisco’s did not earn my business.
The food was great. The place was a little bit noisy more than we expected. Service was good but not great.
Calamari was amazing, salad was great, but paid extra for the 45-day dry aged steak and was underwhelmed. Was looking forward to a great steak and I’ve had so much better for less money. Lovely place though and people were very professional and friendly.
We had the dry aged lamb and filet mignon. Both were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. The sides were huge and delicious. Brussels sprouts with bacon, mushrooms and potatoes au gratin. Little pricey but well worth it! Service was impeccable. Largest wine list I've ever seen!
A minor issue with the preparation of one of our parties dishes was immediately rectified. Attentiveness was excellent. Wine recommendation was spot on. A very enjoyable dining experience.
The service and food were horrible!!! The waitress was so slow and didn’t even come to our table we had to keep asking people walking by for our server. She never brought forks or anything for our oysters and we even had to go ask someone else to bring our check!!!! The octopus came out cold and even the crab cakes were cold. Nothing we ordered tasted good. And on top of it my guest ended up with a bad stomach and was sick all night after dinner!!!!! This place is a joke they need to work on service and food!
Excellent food and service. Sweet chilli shrimp, sea bass, wavy up beef creamed corn, banana bread pudding and lemon cake are excellent. Can’t wait to dine there again. One of my favorite steakhouses.
Service is VERY slow.
The waiter did not come over to our table once except to take our orders, then I asked a waitress walking by to please call our waiter to our table. It took him 12 minutes to come over to our table. We would of liked a drink with dinner, but unfortunately he was too late for that!
Unfortunately we will not be coming back to this location.
I took my girlfriend to eat here and well the service was great but I got the feeling they thought we were gonna dine and dash because many people came and checked on us asking weird questions especially a man that we assumed to be the manager
Steak was mediocre. Everything else was very good, service excellent.
I came here for resturaunt week and I guess they know who is participating and choose to give them a subpar experience because theyre paying less?
I started with the soup, which was really cold. Like really cold.
The steak was good, but the dessert which was cheesecake didn't taste fresh and it was larger than the entire rest of the meal portion size. The service was as good as it could be for a packed resturaunt, which was difficult to flag anyone down.
I have been to several of these locations throughout the US. This location was outstanding compared to the last location I ate at. The food was exceptional and the service was great.
Horrible server- did not ask us if we were fine once during the night.
