Deer + Almond is a new North American restaurant. Chef Mandel Hitzer had created a specialty menu that bodes well with the comfortable and cozy environment. The restaurant has an elegant décor. The dining room, washed in brown and white, has Oakwood furniture. It is suitable for friends and couples. Deer + Almond serves Mexi fries with aioli, beef strips, cheese and fermented chili. It has a large variety of sandwiches and burgers. All sandwiches are served with a thick layer of house-special cheese, royale. Coffee-crusted grilled tenderloin is a special dish. It is topped with mashed mushrooms, blueberry balsamic glaze, delice de Bourgogne and Yukon mash. Buttermilk panna cotta with orange sorbet is the specialty dessert at Deer + Almond. It is served with bee pollen and puffed rice. The bar serves a wide range of old-fashioned whiskeys, house special cocktails and freshly brewed beer.

hands down, my favourite restaurant in the city. It's vegan friendly and every plate is a thing of beauty. With respect to the cuisine, I'd say it's more spanish asian fusion than "asian" per se. Anyway... I kinda wish they were on open table so I wouldn't have to call for reservations - I hate talking on the phone *lol*
