Deep Lagoon Seafood and Oyster House - Fort Meyers
Very good food, very busy place. Only thing I didn’t completely enjoy is the open atmosphere makes it a little warm. I guess the price you pay for a really nice view.
Great place right on the water. Excellent location. We arrived for a 7 pm reservation and were seated promptly. Easy parking. Will definitely go back.
Excellent and attentive waiter. Menu is very expansive with reasonable pricing for the quality.
View of water is a special touch, along with free valet parking.
Food was excellent as usual but restaurant was too warm. We had indoor seating because of the warm weather but the room we were in was only screened off from the outside. Fans were blowing but didn’t help. Rather spoiled the evening.
Food was average, and not up to par with previous experiences we have had there.
Reservations for early dinner for 5 and were seated quickly, with about a 15 minute wait til server approached. Drinks and appetizers ordered// felt rushed by server. As starters were served and were pressed to order entrees— food arrived quickly. Ahi tuna was over cooked and dry, lobster Mac was comparable to Kraft Mac and cheese with some lobster meat added. Tasteless. Remaining dinners were decent but nothing new. Dessert ordered that were ok nothing special. Coffee was truly terrible.
Had higher expectation based on menu and reviews. Venue is very nice, but quality of food and service is average.
Our salads, appetizers and main course arrived within 5 minutes of each other! Had no time to finish first courses and no space at the table for everything. The swordfish fiesta was expensive for two TINY pieces of fish at almost $30. Chicken Marsala arrived with no pasta, which they brought after I finished my meal. Quite disappointed this time.
Nice, low-key ambiance with a fantastic choice of fresh seafood.
I love Seafood and even though not to crazy about chain restaurants Deep Lagoon is my favorite to go to restaurant. It has a variety and make your own dishes. I don’t think you could make a bad choice. 😛
The atmosphere was incredible. Food was mediocre at best.
Terrible experience. Waiter forgot our drinks at the bar so we had to remind him. Next, we witnessed a busybody put his shoes up on a chair so he could tie his shoes, he then knocked a salt shaker off the table and onto the ground only to pick it up and put it right back on the table. Once our food came it was luke warm at best. I picked 7 bones out of my grouper dish. Throughout the dinner we overheard servers frantically walking around asking if anyone brought their food out.
Overall it was just a terrible experience and it felt like from the first time we went that they tried to shove as many tables inside as possible without concern for the diner’s experience. Needless to say that will be the last time we ever go back and will definitely not recommend it to anyone.
The food was delicious, the service was great and the view and atmosphere were very nice.
Although they didn’t offer any special dessert for my son’s birthday, the was very good and the sever was very knowledgeable.
Our first time here, very fun for our family. The kiddos got a kick out of the fish case🐟🐙 The marina view at night is beautiful. Great food & drinks, ambiance was pleasant. Would definitely recommend!
We were given a round table for 6 but only had 4 in our group which made of awkward seating.
My wife’s meal the hog fish with shrimp special was cold and had a very fishy taste.
Not our normally good experience at this place.
Have been there many times. Something was wrong last night. It was so loud it was disturbing. I was still eating my appetizer and they brought the entree. I told them to take it back to the kitchen to keep it hot. The server gave me an argument. After I was ready for the entree, it came out cold. For a meal that cost $100, I would have been better off at McDonald's. I don't think I'm going back.
Cole is a great server.
Overall we liked the restaurant. Menu choices were good and waiter was excellent. Restaurant was clean and modern. Common problem at many seafood restaurants though is fish fillets tend to get over cooked. Both of our fish entrees were dry (Mahi mahi and hogfish). Also, the blackened Mahi mahi was not very flavorful. Since this restaurant specializes in fresh seafood, dry fish should never be an issue. We were there mid-week and it was not overly busy. Might try again if we are visiting area.
Always great at Deep Lagoon
I love hushpuppies. These were so dense even when I sent back a 2nd time they were not done in the middle. I also got the lobster bisque, no flavor. Lastly, I got the shrimp scampi. The shrimp were so small the tails were removed. tasted like frozen shirmp definitely not fresh. Definitely not the shrimp showcased as you walk in. I was super excited to go to this restaurant and was extremely disappointed.
Food and service were wonderful. The establishment was clean and fun.
We had a wonderful meal with friends. The small plate appetizers were delicious. My husband’s Seafood fra diablo was filled with seafood in a fabulous sauce. James, our server, was attentive, professional and a delight.
Beautiful water setting. Waitress was very attentive. Food was outstanding. We had the Oysters Rockefeller, ahi tuna and key lime pie. Very tasty and prices were extremely reasonable for fresh seafood.
My husband had clam chowder and tuna, my sister-in-law had shrimp scampi and I had lobster bisque and shrimp cocktail. They were all delicious. Our server was very attentive and helpful in selections. I wish I could remember his name.
Picturesque with good food and outstanding service, as well as numerous indoor and outdoor dining areas.
Fresh seafood and probably all of Fort Myers the largest shrimp they call them collosal they’re amazing the oysters the golf oysters some of the best we ever had if you’re into seafood definitely that’s the place to go
Nice lunch with family. Enjoyed mussels, fritters, clam chowder, and fish and shrimp tacos.
Excellent food and service. Remains a favorite!
Great atmosphere and food. We will be back
Going downhill. The food was just not worth the price. The conch fritters were mostly filling. The crab cakes were over salted. The Hogfish was over cooked. They left the woody part of the asparagus on. I guess to make it look like more food. So a seafood place, did better on the side dishes than the seafood. You can do better
Reserved through Open Table. Seat by window was requested and provided. Our overall experience was modified by the vey high noise levels.
Have eaten here before, disappointed in the crab cakes. Must have changed recipe
Our server was fantastic
The server was inattentive. The hogfish (a wonderful fish) tasted like a dry fish stick. The drinks where overly sweet, not good. They failed to bring side dished with crab leg dinner. Compensated with a key lime pie mediocre at best. Store bought, definitely not home made.
My Favorite Place and it never disappoints. My out of town visitors simply loved the dishes, view and excellent service.
Great place - awesome location. Food was really good and the fish was fresh. Definitely recommend it!!
Place, food, service all amazing!
We were 45 minutes away from the restaurant. It was going to close 45 minute after our reservation. We didn’t have time to go back to the hotel to change. I asked the hostess if it was ok that we were under dressed. She said we were fine but sat us at the lower level on the walkway of the boat slip. When we asked to sit at the restaurant level, the host who showed us to our table, gave us an attitude. We felt like 2nd class citizens and it was embarrassing. We drove the distance and it was late, so we stayed.
Our waiter was amazing and we spent $200 for 3 of us. The food was good, but small portions. If you are hungry, snack before you go there. But definitely get the Key Lime pie!
Great variety of fresh seafood, unique preparations. Crab Rangoon appetizers are small bite size versions with a deliciously spicy sauce. Specials Snapper Lagoon and Sesame Seed Hogfish were very tasty and good size portions. Great atmosphere, lively but able to talk with table mates. Service was excellent, timely and knowledgeable on menu items and specials. An overall wonderful experience, will definitely return.
As someone who has been coming to this restaurant for years, I was extremely shocked and disappointed by my experience. I had three friends visiting me from out of town (all of which are over the age of 22) and immediately after sitting down at our table, our waitress asked to see our IDs although we hadn’t even ordered drinks yet or had time to look at the menu. Upon taking our IDs, our waitress said that she would have to take them in the back to be scanned. Not thinking much of it, we agreed and continued chatting and reviewing the menu. Moments later, we were aggressively approached by a woman (I believe she said her name was Tina), who disrespectfully told us that all of our IDs were fake and that she would not be returning them. Completely taken aback, we told Tina that our IDs were in fact real as we are all far over the age of 21, and asked her to return them. She refused and threatened to arrest us. Knowing that my friends needed their IDs in order to fly home, we had to call the police to finally get our IDs back. At that point, we didn’t even stay for dinner. I cannot express enough how horrible and frustrating this experience was. I will absolutely not be returning to this restaurant and advise others to steer clear as well.
