Dee Felice Café is a heavily jazz-inspired restaurant with a New Orleans motif. Opened by jazz drummer Emidio Dee Felice in 1984, the place stays true to the spirit of the Mardi Gras in terms of décor, entertainment and food. Dee Felice is located in an old building with a tin ceiling and black and white checkerboard floor. The interior is under-lit and plays host to live jazz bands every day of the week. The menu highlights real Louisiana fare with appetizers like frog legs and oyster's Rockefellers. Dinner includes barbecued shrimp, carpaccio and Creole classics. Dee Felice tends to use blackening as a cooking method for most of its dishes. The menu also has an Italian influence, with dishes like pasta and chicken martinelli showing up.
