The finest cut of prime tenderloin cooked to perfection
Ricotta-filled and breaded ravioli, deep-fried and topped with a crawfish-jalapeño cream sauce
The staff was very nice, food affordable, quick service
Music is to loud, you can not talk to others in your party.
Place is to small for a 4 piece band sitting on top of you.
Have been a patron for 30 years but last night was very disappointing. Quality of food was OK. Pricing of food was not reflective of what was on the online menu. Had to ask for water multiple times and saw that never arrived. In the back of my chair was bumped by the servers eight or 10 times as they were cutting through the kitchen
I decided to have my friend’s 40th birthday party there. The water service was impeccable, but the waitress was kind but behind. They were also out of 3 different wines we wanted to order. BUT the most disappointing thing was an expensive entree that DID NOT include any sides for the high end price we were paying. The food is very good, but many of my friends were disappointed by the entree only and al a carte style. We did expect more food for the price we were paying. Also, the staff threw away my left overs instead of boxing them up. They did bring me another half order that was ok, but not great. I would recommend it to a friend but warn them about the high prices.
Great place to eat! I had not been there in 20 years. When I knew I was going to the area again I made reservations. It did not disappoint!
Dee Felice never disappoints!
Good today as it was 20 years ago and every visit in between
New management is rebuilding a NKY classic. Jazz band is great albeit loud. Don’t plan on much conversation till they break. Food is good and getting better every time we return. Service was very good despite being short staffed like every restaurant is these days.
I absolutely love the charm of this restaurant. I was between several choices for both salad an entree and the waitress was happy to help with my choices and I was thrilled with what I ordered. I loved the music but it was a bit loud and hard to carry on conversation. I would definitely ask to sit in the back room where you can hear the music but still carry on a conversation. Only issue with service was slow in getting checking and processing payment.
Food was great! We had the halibut and filet as entrees and fried ravioli appetizer. Stephen was the best waiter we've had in a long time! Very nice Anniversary dinner.
Just simply a fantastic place
The Ravioli appetizer was absolutely phenomenal. Great atmosphere with live jazz music. Had a great waitress as well! High marks
If we had never been to the original Dee Felice we would probably have liked the current rendition more. The staff was overworked since it’s so hard to get people to work, but we were able to see past that. The wine list was short. The petite Dee’s Fillet was $19.99 and included butterfly shrimp and cream sauce. Now it’s $37, plus $10 for the shrimp and cream sauce. $19.99 versus $47? Wow! As I said, had we not been to the old restaurant, we would probably have liked our dinner more.
We have been coming here a few times a year and bringing friends for years. We have loved it. We love the atmosphere and the jazz bands. I always get the Cajun Chicken and loved it. This time it was served over a lot of white rice.I did not like . At Chinese restaurants I like my rice on the side. The other entree ordered was Pasta Dante. The blackened chicken had great flavor, other than that, the pasta and sauce had none. Other people complain about too much tomato based Cajun sauce, WE MISS IT?!!! Bring it back.
The only thing that we missed was the Gumbo.
The rest of the dinner and service was excellent.
The food at Dee Felipe was amazing!! I ate everything on my plate!!! My husband had some left that were fantastic warmed the next day!! Stephen was awesome. He made us feel like we were his most important table!! The manager was great!!! Overall a great time!!! We will be returning!!
Absolutely wonderful Saturday night dinner at Dee Felice !
Great drinks and delicious food and superb service.
Can't wait to go back !
Great food; great music; great service. So glad it reopened.
We eat out 3 to 4 times weekly so this experience was extremely disappointing and almost shocking. As dead as they were, service was deplorable. Food was pedestrian, from the wilted greens in our salads, flavorless escargot and disappointing etouffe. The one thing that was good was the music. I hate to be so harsh but the special dinner I had planned turned in to an hour and a half wait for service and food throughout.
It was amazing!! The food was excellent and the happy hour had great deals!
Good food. Great jazz music
Having dined and Dee Felice before, we chose it to celebrate our friends’ engagement and ask them to be Godparents to our new baby. The food was very good, especially the fried ravioli appetizer. Our server was personable and attentive. You could tell he enjoyed his job. We were very happy to have the jazz band playing, although it was a bit hard to have conversation. The price point was a little high for the quantity of food (mostly the appetizers, the entrees were a good size) but given that it was a special occasion, we felt the splurge was worth it.
With white linen tables and live jazz music above the bar, I thought I was about to sit down for an epic meal — but ultimately, I was extremely disappointed.
We ordered the Cajun calamari for our appetizer, which in itself was good, but the dipping sauce was a boring and unoriginal cocktail sauce which did not complement the calamari whatsoever.
For our entrees, we ordered Pasta Dante and Shrimp Alfredo, both of which were very bad. The presentation of the Pasta Dante was terrible and did not look appetizing. The menu said it was topped with Feta Cheese, but there was no cheese to be found on the dish. The blackened chicken was super dry and the peppers and onions were basically raw and added nothing to it. The dish tasted mainly of black pepper. The shrimp itself was fine in the shrimp Alfredo dish, but the Alfredo sauce was so incredibly tasteless.
When the waitress asked us how the food was, we said it was “okay” and we could sense that she could sense that we didn’t like and that she wanted to get us out of there as fast as possible. She didn’t ask if we wanted another drink or dessert, and just brought us our check.
I didn’t notice until after my card was swiped that they overcharged us for the Shrimp Alfredo by $5. I normally wouldn’t say anything, but because it was so bad, I thought I should. So I informed the waitress and she said that she couldn’t do anything about it since the card was already swiped and that she would just take it out of her tip that I had already written on the receipt. Ok — that was not what I wanted to do since she deserved her 20%, but I could tell she was done with us.
Anyway, extremely disappointed with the food. Great ambiance though. I would go back and sit at the bar for a few drinks if they have live music, but don’t go for the food.
Super fun and band was great!
It felt like the same dee felice I remember beautiful night for the outside seating
Was disappointed that gumbo was no longer on the menu, the halibut was as good as I remember
Overall ambiance was ok-For the price of the food the ambiance is more like a lunch setting rather than a nice dinner environment. The restaurant can use more tidying up in general.
The food was not quality food. The shrimp cocktail was runny and watery (better off going to Jeff Ruby’s) & the jambalaya was very watery that it looked like soup along with rice that was uncooked. When I let our server know that the rice was not cooked well she said “oh yeah it’s because the rice came from the batch” almost like it justifies the fact the rice was not cooked well. I opted for the fettuccine Alfredo after not liking the first meal and that was very runny as well and very bland.
It was my husbands birthday and I felt very disappointed that nothing we tried was good-including the service.
Dee Felice is my favorite restaurant. Food and ambiance are wonderful. Service in the past has been excellent but the past few times it's just been okay. Not bad but not outstanding as it had been in the past.
unaware of the change in ownership -
menu seems limited
Generally my one of my favorite places to dine. I think it was an off day, my $29 piece of fish wasn't great. Thin and not much flavor. Disappointing for Mothers Day. I felt like they didn't want to be there Sunday afternoon. Nice they had live piano music. I'll try it again generally great food.
We enjoyed our Mother’s Day brunch very much. Staff was fabulous as was our food🥰
Service was very quick, although we did have one of the first reservations (5 p.m.). The food was excellent and probably one of the "hottest" entrees I have received from a restaurant. With many restaurants, I would classify most food when it arrives at the table as lukewarm, but it was definitely not the case here. Prices are very reasonable and I found the portion to be satisfying (didn't have to take leftovers home). Absolutely love the bread and lobster butter!!! Will come back.
Great place with jazz, service was below normal. We been going here for 20 years. We'll be back.
Wine Options are limited and massively overpriced. The markup on their bottles of wine is ridiculous so extreme so extreme I will not be back! 👎
We love Dee Felice. The food is consistently good and the atmosphere is fun and casual. We hadn't been since pre-pandemic and the prices were a bit higher than I remembered, but worth it to support this institution.
Used to be a very good restaurant. Having lived in New Orleans for several years, there is an expectation of seasoning and taste. The restaurant used to have those flavors. The blackening was burnt, and the dishes were pretty tasteless or bland.
I've always wanted to visit Dee Felice Cafe, but always forget about it. It definitely exceeded expectations, based on the sub-par reviews that I saw.
The live music was our draw (and would always be our draw) but the food was better than anticipated. We will definitely be back!
Menu is cut in half. Apparently that had occurred earlier in the week but was not updated on the restaurant’s website. I was looking forward to trying this because it’s hard to find good Cajun food around here. I was really disappointed that they didn’t currently even have gumbo with this abridged menu. There was a live jazz band there which was cool but was impossible to hear the server.
So happy to see them back. Great service with a relaxed loving atmosphere. Consistent great dishes for all!
Service was outstanding. Blackened Halibut $30 with ala carte sides such as salad and vegetables, in the $8-12 range each which puts pricing on the level with Upscale dining. Halibut was wonderful though was very heavy on the blackening seasoning which was ok for me though my husband thought it was too much and it detracted from his meal experience. BLT salad was good $10. Ordered red beans and rice as a side and was very disappointed with the product, especially for a restaurant with many Cajun entrees. Tasted like white rice and a can of kidney beans. No seasoning at all. Ordered the butter pie, it was way over cooked, hard to cut and a very small portion. The waiter was kind enough to remove the pie from our bill. Was disappointed in the food quality for the upscale price point. Hopefully, they are working through reopening issues and things will be better.
The menu has been reduce from their long time menu. Many of my favorites are no longer available.
