Our favorite local Italian restaurant. So happy to see Nick back!!
Great Food, Friendly staff, very attentive. Always a good time and its great to know that you are always going to get a quality meal.
Not worth my time Used open table to get a reservation which worked fine. Requested outside gave inside too noisey. Requested outside again had to wZit an hour. Not worth it
Happy to dine out in a ‘safe’ environment. Food great as always. Will certainly be dining here again! Our dinners were veal and eggplant lasagna. Yum! Thank you DeCostas.
Awesome food! Angel hair with shrimp and crab is delicious! Must try.
Amazing food and staff!! Our go to local Italian restaurant
Decosta’s is me of our favorite restaurants. Great food, good prices, homey ambiance, and excellent service.
Food was great!!
We went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The food was extraordinary and the service was great. Our table of seven lingered and enjoyed it all.
Excellent food, great service. Very noisy and crowded on a Saturday night!
The food is always delicious whenever we dine there or order takeout but it seems the prices keep escalating on a fairly regular basis and their beer prices I think are a little extreme. After all we are dining in Yonkers and not midtown. Gonna start having just water from now on. Wine prices seem comparable at least
Food and service is always excellent. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food.
Our first time here. Everyone was so gracious and accommodating , from our first greeting on. The food was nice as well. Very glad we tried it.
Decostas is our family’s home away from home. The food is amazingly delicious. The service is phenomenal. My family has been coming to Decostas for a very long time and the food and service is always consistent. The owners are fishermen and a lot of the time the fish that they serve was caught by one of them. Not only is the food great and fresh but it also seams like a great place to work. The owners are very hands on and present everyday and working! You’ll always find one of them standing by a table conversing with a diner. It’s a warm and inviting place and you can tell that it’s a “go to” spot for a lot of families by the interaction between staff and patrons. If you love fish this is the spot you want to go to. Most of the entrees come with a delicious potato croquette, not pasta, and a serving of veggies. If you’d like pasta you can order it as a side or you can substitute. My husband and I usually add it as a side and we get it in garlic and oil instead of tomato sauce. The garlic is yummy! I can eat a plate of it alone. It’s that good! So my recommendation is as follow:
Salad: my husband always goes with the house salad. I go for any salad on the specials menu.
Appetizers: baked clams casino, shrimp cocktail, calamari (I haven’t had a better calamar anywhere else) sometimes oysters is on as a special. If grilled octopus is on the specials menu and you like octopus then this is a must have!
Entree: anything on the specials menu but if tuna or flounder is on the special, get it! From the daily menu I would order the Pork Chop ala Nona, the strip steak, the chicken parmigiana, or the salmon.
Dessert: flute limoncello, white chocolate bread pudding (a MUST HAVE) or any of their specials. Especially the flan or creme brûlée.
Drinks: my go to is wine. I usually get a Malbec or a sauvignon blanc. My husband loves the Italian Mojito its made with with Basil instead of mint. It’s very good. If you’re in Yonkers you definitely want to stop at DeCostas.
Decosta's is fast becoming our go-to local restaurant, easy to get to as it is off the Cross County Parkway and near I-87 in Yonkers. They have a parking lot and street parking nearby. There is a small sitting area if you need to wait for a table but also a bar quite close to the dining area; the dining area itself is split into two sections, the one further back has a little less space and ambiance as it faces the parking lot (and another parking lot behind it) and no decorative window dressings. But Decosta's popularity comes with its food and service: the mostly Italian cuisine features pastas, seafood and meats along with soups, salads and very appealing appetizers. On those very busy nights it might take a little longer to get your food but it is worth the wait; my whole-wheat linguine with sausage and broccoli rabe in garlic and oil was served at the right temperature and tasty. We tried the lobster bisque and it was better than advertised. Service is always great and this evening was no different. Decosta's will not let you down!
I eat there at least twice a week! Sometimes more. That should tell you how I feel about the place. I feel like Norm from Cheers when I walk in there. I know everyone’s name and they know mine. It’s my go to and my favorite place to eat. I talk about it so much I’ve had 1 co-worker and 3 friends travel from Manhattan just to see what all the hype is about and they all tell me it was definitely worth it. The establishment is owned by two brothers who also happen to be fishermen so a lot of the times the fish you eat is fish they caught! From sea to table. Can’t get any fresher than that! The staff is wonderful and friendly. Really is my favorite place to eat.
Feels like family!
Excellent service!! Great staff & food was amazing!
Each of us had different items and each of us were happy wih our choices! Service was excellent and professional
Ordered whole wheat linguine and while it was tasty, it was over cooked. The veal was good as was the cheese ravioli. They give a vets discount and I love that they do. Good meal overall.
My first experience here and I must say it was quite a good one ! From the moment the owner's daughter brought out our bread dish to the moment his son brought out our desserts, this was a very delightful and delicious experience !! Would definitely recommend it for the food alone and that's a huge plus ! I must admit, I do feel it was a bit on the pricey side, but such a great find in my neck of the woods, as their food was alot like Nonna's ♥️
Will surely be back again !
Always love coming here it’s a great place, food is wonderful, staff super friendly what more could you ask for.
Very friendly atmosphere. Nice courteous wait staff. The lentil soup was perfect. As was the rigatoni and the chicken parm. I will definitely go back.
Attentive service and excellent food! Great neighborhood place.
Food was great. Service was great. Will definitely go back there and already recommended to friends.
Wonderful service and great food. Very attentive staff and all our dishes were delicious.
It was mother's day so I made my appt for a special dinner. 1st time appt using 'Open Table'. So before attending that day I did call & confirm. It works! The host quickly found my name & party too. Always wanted to try D'costas glad I did. Table for 2x was quickly seated. But I we were alittle cramped they placed us right near staff grab all the utensils & table wear. There were other tables but I didn't make it a thing.
We ordered Cesar salad & beef barley soup. Cesar salad was unimpressive & the beef barley was very tasty.
Apps ordered were Eggplant Rollitini & Clams Casino. Both were very delicious & compliments were made.
Entrees were Chicken Parmigiana & Brazil lobster tail 6 oz. Again both were very good. 2x huge chicken breast fillets & sauce was great! My lobster tail & veggies was tasty also. Although I should've ordered it grilled & not steamed.
For dessert, gelato coffee & chocolate ice cream. Each person recv'd 2 huge scoops in large ramekin. We splurge!
Cappuccino to close things out & check pls! Total was $141- for 2x ppl at a really decent restaurant environment.
We will be back real soon, muy delicioso!
Food was delicious! Our group enjoyed Branzino in a lemon caper sauce, Chicken Scarpariello & Salmon with Pesto sauce. Delivery of the main course was a bit slow but the restaurant was very crowded that night. Our table was under the A/C vent which made a definite draft, but overall the restaurant was a little too cold. The ambiance is very pleasant.
Wonderful service. Salad and entrees were outstanding.
The food was excellent. All items found online were not available on the menu when we arrived. Service was great. We were about 10 minutes late being seated. Staff was very attentive.
Went to good solid Italian.
I was raised that if you don't have anything good to say, you say nothing. Let the silence or void represent the impression that I am stuck with.
We were all very pleased with our dining experience at DeCosta's. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient, and all our meals were outstanding!!! The food was hot and so delicious. Nice selection of items too. We will definitely be there again.
My only issue was that DeCosta’s didn’t check us in with Open Table upon arrival. I then received an email from you saying I didn’t show up, etc. It was finally settled but caused undue stress, a phone call and emails.
Will go again
Best place in Yonkers!!! Great food, drinks and atmosphere!
great place been coming here for years
its great to see they are doing well good idea to make a reservation
food is always on point! staff are always smiling and friendly
Very happy it's close to home but certainly would drive to dine here. The staff is always friendly and professional. They have great specials. This time we ordered veal picatta and pork chops. For me it's always to much food so I have another meal to enjoy. And as a plus, they discount for veterans! We'll be back. Thank you DeCosta's
This restaurant is the hidden treasure of Yonkers! Its a must go and they are very gluten free friendly!!
