Went with the family for my birthday. Totally loved the atmosphere!
My friend and I visited Deck to have lunch on the windiest, coolest day. First we sat outside, but the wind was blowing more than we wanted, so we moved into the dining room. It was still chilly inside. I don't know why they kept the ceiling fans on as it was totally unnecessary on that blustery day. I think it would be totally awesome to dine at Deck on a day/night when it's not windy/chilly. The restaurant is open air, and I shivered the whole time I sat in the restaurant. The food is good, but nothing I would rave about. The lunch menu is limited, and prices are not cheap. The server was attentive, friendly, made suggestions, kept our water glasses filled, and checked on us frequently. I'm sure if it were a nice, sunny day, our dining experience would have been more favorable. It's a delightful place to dine with friends or have a business meeting because it's quiet. Hard to imagine that beyond the walls is Waikiki.
Diamond head View was fantastic
Our 47 year anniversary at hotel had a fabulous time loved the food music and happy hour also, will come again. Was a taste of old Hawaii. Mahalo
Horrible service. Food is good. Ambiance is great. Bad service they need to get there shhhh together.
The ambiance is great, but the service is HORRIBLE. There was no hostess so everyone who came in waited for at least 15 minutes to be seated by any employee who decided to come to the check in desk. After being seated we waited for at least 20 minutes before anyone addressed us, no one even brought initial water or silverware. Every guest in the restaurant was looking around for service. The food was ok, but not worth the wait and terrible service. The only positives were the ambiance and live music. A very disappointing experience.
It was New year's eve. They were short staffed. We will try again.
Oysters and main courses are delicious, very pleasant live music, great atmosphere. A little bit pricey, but it really depends on what you order. We plan to visit this place again!
Food was decent. Service was awful. VERY SLOW. Live music was nice touch.
My family and I had some guests in town and we wanted to show them a great time in Waikiki. Our reservation was for New Years Eve. When we arrived we sat for about 15 minutes, not too bad, and then we were sat at our table. We waited 30 minutes before anyone came to our table. Please understand I am not embellishing. We were waiting constantly with the exception of the wait for our food, which was very quick. They appeared short staffed however no one at any time paid us the courtesy to tell us how slow the service would be. A small gesture to let us know and to try to still provide a positive experience is not too much to ask for given the money we spent. I never in my life skipped a tip for service until here. Our server never came to our table to take our drink/food order, we had to ask someone else, and then we had to go to the bartender to get the drink order correct. Not once did anyone come by to refill any drinks or ask how our food was. The food was really good. The price is average for a Waikiki restaurant. The ambiance is nice, although it is part of a hotel and there were hotel guests swimming in the pool next to us. My keiki was supposed to get a sundae with his meal and it took us about 30 minutes to get that after we had all finished our food, and only after we asked multiple times and asked multiple people. We only saw our server once or twice in the two and a half hours we were there, most of that time was spent waiting. It took going to the bartender and then the front reception to get our bill and then pay it. It was extremely disappointing. My wife tried to find a manager to complain to but we couldn't get one, so we went downstairs and talked to a manager there. The manager took her information and promised to follow up with her and never did. I will never go back here - this restaurant has a great cooking staff but until they figure out customer service there would be no point in coming here as you will leave upset.
Food was okay but service was terrible. The saddest part of this evening was the Molten Chocolate Cake was served completely cold, that I’ve never experienced anywhere else.
The service was comically slow. Side dishes arrived before mains. Main dishes came 35 minutes after ordering and then came spaced 10-15 minutes apart.
Overall, a good experience. Would I return? Yes, but not ASAP as there are many other places to try close by. Food was great. I had fish, the special of the day, and it was very satisfying. Not a huge portion, but what you would expect. The service was good. The only knock I would give them was the beers we got were under-poured (two rounds of two).
Extremely friendly and welcoming staff.
Reasonably priced considering the ambiance, food quality & views.
We enjoyed the view, music and ambiance
Beautiful, refreshing and enjoyable from the food to the scenery
The holiday buffet offered for Thanksgiving was divine. The seafood station was magnificent: crab, poke, salmon, oysters... I also enjoyed the traditional offerings: turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, carrots, beets, cauliflower, rolls, and macaroni and cheese. Stop the press. Desserts were happening, too. Service was also kind and helpful. Music was local and groovy. My wife and I had a delightful experience - mahalo.
First time ever, and this is my favorite spot now!
This place has the best view of Diamond Head, and the all-week entertainers are amazing!!
Staffs are attentive, kind, and friendly, and feel like at home.
Food is OUTSTANDING. You have to try the Kampachi Sashimi with Ginger Vin.
I will come back for sure whenever I revisit Hawaii.
service was very very poor, very quiet day, extremely initiative
Deck is in a prime location with a beautiful open deck dining and lounge area. The service, however, was not very good. The waiters were nice, but the quality of service was poor. I watched the server serve food to another couple, not recognizing they did not have a napkin or utensil. Another server or cook followed, and brought additional avocado and toast, and also did not see they did not have utensils. The man took them himself from the adjacent table. The same couple, the man, got up and went to the wait station to get water for him and his guest. Our food order was uncomplicated, yet, we did not receive our breakfast until 40 minutes after ordering. It wasn't busy - maybe two other tables there. The couple we observed, in which I described, ordered after us, and also had an uncomplicated order, yet they received their breakfast before we did. I cannot recommend this place to others simply because the service was not very good. It was people "doing a job". Apologies, I hope this will change in the future. You have so much going for you as far as location and size and view ..... we had breakfast of eggs sunny-side and scrambled, side order of bacon, a fruit bowl and croissant so, hard to comment on food. (see why 40 mins. might seem too long of a wait?...) Thank you.
The best restaurant in Waikiki for chic decor and an amazing unobstructed view of Diamond Head. I am so happy to find this hidden gem in Waikiki. Price is reasonable, staff are super friendly and the food is on point with local ingredients and generous portion size. The server told me that Monday has hula dance, and the rest of the week has live music at night. Overall great experience and I will definitely come back!
The server was not attentive enough especially since there wasn’t too many tables she was waiting on.
Clearly the restaurant is just starting out. Staff seemed overwhelmed. Will take time but this place has the potential to be great.
The staff overall was generally very nice but it took forever to receive our food, the cheese in the omelettes did not taste fresh, the cold dishes came out last, the burrito came out cold. I was dinged for a no show yet we had a party of 7 and they couldn’t reasonably accommodate a party of 7 with the way they seated other tables and could only squeeze a party of 7 on a 6 top. I’d usually give a new restaurant a pass on a number of issues but this particular breakfast was terrible.
The service was terrible. Our entrees took over an hour to be delivered and they also mixed up what are entrees were.
