Decca Ratings and Reviews
This is our 4th time to Decca and it was by far our worst time. The Prixe Fix Valentines menu was fantastic! The food was exceptional. The service however was not nearly up to the standard that we have normally had. Our waitress was not very friendly and was not very attentive either. We had to waited forever to get our drinks replenished when finally a manager (I assume) was able to get us take care of. After taking our order our waitress was no where to be found until it was time to bring us the check. Again this not what we have become used to at Decca, so I wanted to go ahead and write this review.
Consistently excellent! You can count always on Decca serving wonderful food. While the dishes are sophisticated, they are not fussy or contrived. Attention is paid to using high quality ingredients. While there are some staples, they do change it up. The woodfire grilled items are particularly outstanding. We really loved our waiter this time too.
The atmosphere was up to par! The bar area downstairs had a speak easy feel and a fire pit just outside the dining area made this a great neighborhood find for all types of those seeking to have a relaxing dinner. Small menu but big tastes! If you do something well you don’t need options or variations! My colleagues and I look forward to our next trip to Louisville to visit DECCA and it’s friendly staff of servers!
We celebrated Brandon’s birthday with two other couples. Had a great time with great food. Manager and staff were attentive and friendly. We were able to talk to each other without shouting, which was nice. Thank you for helping to make it a special birthday night!
This was our first visit to Decca but it won't be our last. Everything about our meal was wonderful, from the food to the service, the ambience, and the cozy bar in the basement. We're still talking about the mussels and the brussel sprout/kale salad for appetizers, and the redfish and ribeye entrees were both amazing. We couldn't decide among the sides so we got all of them for the table and the broccoil, beets and cabbage were the standouts. We didn't think we could eat anymore but our great server strongly recommended the pear and brown butter crisp which was a perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Good wine, beer and drink selection and while the menu is a bit pricier than other places, the overall experience was definitely worth it.
Decca always delivers. The staff makes you feel like you are dining at a close friend’s home. So personal and warm. The menu has something for everyone. Each dish has so many layers of flavor. Our favorite place to enjoy cocktails, an elegant meal or quick bites in the Cellar Lounge.
We loved everything about Decca. The cocktails were excellent, the Kale/Brussel Sprout salad was on point, the chicken dish was incredible, and the Butternut Squash Risotto was also amazing. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable and overall, we had a great time!
It was amazing!!! Every thing we had was fabulous except the sweet potatoes. Way too sweet for us but it didn’t matter bc everything else was superb! We had the mussels, amaze. The Brussels sprout salad was the best salad I have ever had. We had the shrimp and steak. We are complete foodies going out to eat all the time in greater cincinnati. We were in Louisville for a concert and found this gem! I do think it was a little too pricey and think more people would try if they lowered the dishes $4/5. We will be back regardless.
This is our third time here within the past two months , the food is consistently lukewarm , never hot . The waitstaff is not friendly at all and seems put out to be there . Clearly no management overseeing the kitchen and wait staff . I think our visits to Decca are over with for a while
We were celebrating the promotion to a new job and mentioned it in the OpenTable reservation comments and they gave us each a glass of Prosecto to enjoy on the house! Great service, wonderful food! The ribeye steak was tender and flavorful and the pork shank fell off the bone.
The meal at Decca was fabulous. It always is. Our waiter seem very tentative and new and wasn’t very engaging. The first time we went we had a waiter who really helped us make the most of the menu and we had some new people with us and was quite disappointed that we had to ask for some engagement and even then it was very tentative. We could barely hear him speak. We trust he was new and really aren’t complaining just giving feedback.
The food was absolutely delicious! The risotto was tasty as can be, and the ricotta toast should definitely be tasted to be believed. I had the pork rib and it was so tender I hardly had to chew at all. I would definitely recommend going there for a date night or just for a fun friendly gathering.
Food was excellent, but we were seated upstairs. The room was spare and unwelcoming. We were celebrating a special occasion and the ambiance was not conducive for comfort or pleasant dining. I know the basement is known for music and food, but we did not attend and cannot comment on that.
The food is always consistently good to truly special. Service varies depending on which waitperson serves you and the hostess has consistently feigned interest in me as a diner over the last 16 months I’ve been dining there. The food is the reason I return, in spite of an average dining experience.
I've been to Decca several times in the past. I've always had good meals. Tonight was an off night for the Chef. My very small serving of Steak Tartar was good, but extremely small for $18. My Redfish was unseasoned, the portion was very small, and the cannellini beans served with the Redfish were hard. With my side of broccoli, my bill was $54 before tax and tip. I left hungry. That shouldn't happen.
My wife said Decca's new Chicken dish was the worst chicken dish she's ever had. I tasted it, and I agree with her. Neither of us have ever had chicken with the consistency of this dish. I would advise against ordering it.
Although I've always like this place, the food not good, the portions seem to have gotten smaller, and it is very expensive relative to the portions. We won't be going back any time soon.
Food was great. Redfish is a great entree Beets are amazing. Wine was great (Chateauneuf du Pape), but markup was astounding. Our server was out to lunch. Slow, with no personality. Flat, flat affect. We got a double charge from him, but it was changed with a nice apology from management. He seemed not to fit.
We had to check on our food after it took awhile..... and got 2 different excuses as to why it took so long. So for our trouble and we were running late to get to a concert, I thought our bill would reflect some sort of comp. Also, the server mentioned that might happen. We just got a manager visit and no offer to make it right. It’s too bad because the food was excellent and I’ve been here several times and loved all previous visits.
