Always 5 star. Fantastic cuisine and service! Favorite place in town
We had an amazing birthday meal at Decca! Our service was fantastic as our server had a way of hooking us into drinks that we weren’t planning on all in a very non pressing manner. He was fabulous. My husband ordered the ribeye which was the best either of us have ever eaten.
12/8/18 I ordered the wild shrimp dish. Heavy on the aoali spice and the shrimp wasn’t cooked. Waitress never asked me if my dinner was to my expectations.
Decor is super nice! Bar and beverages wonderful! The food was just ok. Steak was very good but the salmon I personally did not care for! I know server said chef likes to prepare medium but internal temperature too cold for my preference and veggies not that flavorful. The Brussels sprouts were over powered by chili sauce.
Fantastic food. I can’t say enough how great it was. Starting with the salad to the main dish of chicken breast with very small dumplings with a sauce soooo good. Also had broccoli that was indescribably good with nuts. To the dessert of cherry ice cream.
Decca is a great place to eat. The food was delicious. Service was impeccable. Quick story, my girl and I ordered two Old Fashioned drinks and my waiter thought it took too long for them to serve us. Being the wait was not to his liking, he purchased one more drink on him - thanks. I thought that was kind and thoughtful of him. I will definitely be back at Decca for sure.
When I fist moved to Louisville, I was looking to explore the food scene and went to Decca based on previous reviews. My experience totally lived up to the hype. The menu, while not a huge one is extremely well designed. What caught my attention the most is how the chefs have re-imagined and re-interpreted some of the classic dishes to elevate to the level, where it becomes a distinct culinary nostalgia. Special mention must be made of their mussel dish. The service is amazing, having attained the elusive balance between carefully attentive without being overbearing. I would recommend Decca to anyone looking for a culinary trip on a special occasion.
One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. Very impressed with the food and cocktails. Would definitely return the next time I’m in Louisville.
Great quality food over all. They have unique combinations like Salmon, farro, currant, avacado tahini and carrots. I would good back again.
The food was excellent both in presentation and taste.
Service was perfect.
Ambience was very good. We ate upstairs. Server was excellent. Attentive but not overbearing. Food was fabulous. My wife and I commented that the salads were the best we had ever had. Entrees were great.
Fabulous food, drink menu, wine choices. Service was impeccable. Not rushed, nicely timed.
Very enjoyable meal!! Two couples shared mussels, salads, salmon entrees, and a very nice chocolate cake with coffee ice cream dessert! The service was excellent!
One of the coolest restaurants in town. Better buildout, location, service, and food quality than most other restaurants in town.
One of the best meals I have had lately. Really delicious!!
Hi, we visited Decca while visiting the area. We were seated upstairs which is not as nicely decorated as downstairs.
What was very upsetting was the noise level upstairs. There is a partition in the middle of the room, I’m not sure why, maybe because there are larger tables offered on one side of it? However the side with the larger tables was extroidinarly loud. The ceilings are quite high so maybe that contributes to the intense noise level. Anyway chit chat with my husband, was impossible.
The steak I received was cooked perfectly inside, however the outside was very salty. I should have sent it back because it was quite pricey. My husband ate what I couldn’t and asked, ‘This is so salty, why didn’t you send this back?’
Shoulda Woulda Coulda
It was a cool evening. They had the air conditioner blasting on our heads. We asked to be moved. It wasn't any better. For some reason, they weren't willing or able to turn off the air conditioner. We were uncomfortable throughout our meal.
The food was good; however the servings were small. My risotto was salty but still tasty.
The waitstaff was a bit overzealous in taking our bread plates and wine glasses away before we were even finished.
I had heard wonderful things about Decca, but I was a bit disappointed.
The food is very good but small portions for the price. The dining room is very small and there are too many tables in the room.
Very disappointing. Brought out of town friends for Breeder's Cup and was embarrassed by this selection of restaurant. Food was average to below average.
Food took forever ! And wasn’t any good . Very disappointed -
Everything was top shelf...food, drink and service was fantastic!
Overall a Great meal, & would definitely return again. Rather tight table seating but not claustrophobic. Our table ordered the salmon and the pork chop entrees, with the mussels and steak tartare for starters. I LOVE steak tartare and was really looking forward to having it here. Typically my husband and I split this starter, but Decca's portion size was too small to even feed one- and at normal steak tartare pricing. If we weren't very careful, one of us could have easily spooned it all up in one tiny bite. It almost looked like it wasn't on the plate when it came- just the garnish! You'd need 3-4x more qty for this app in my opinion. The flavors were great, but the banana pepper crunch & bite overwhelmed a bit. Mussels were fabulous & plentiful. Salmon and pork entrees had that minimalist quantity plating look, with sparse amounts of sides and sauce- BUT this was also the first time I can ever remember tasting how perfectly well rounded every single bite was- with such little accompaniment. Truly extraordinary flavors. Decadent to experience. The pork chop entree folk also felt like theirs was quite the delicious meal too. 5 star place, but 4 with the microscopic steak tartare portion size- a big "Oops" on such a star appetizer on a menu.
The background music was fast and frenetic. The menu has not changed much in the last 12 months at least. Not a very good menu for health-conscious eaters.
We enjoyed Decca. Seating was a bit slow but the service was excellent!! The food was very good, the prime rib was good not great. Pork chops got really good reviews. Try it.
Amazing testaurant and great service. Great menu! So enjoyed the chicken!!
Such a disappointment. Food was mediocre at best , overpriced, and service was TERRIBLE!!
Food was awesome, been here a few times previously and it was always very good but it was over the top this visit.
The food was tasty. One order was wrong but overall good service
Absolutely amazing. Everything from start to finish was perfect.
My favorite Louisville restaurant by far! I've been several times and have never had one bad bite!
Amazing food - very creative! Every bite was noteworthy. So flavorful with unexpected ingredients. Salmon and shrimp dishes were both wonderful. Really delicious beet side dish. Risotto was fantastic!
Service was exceptional-thank you!
What an incredible experience! Went for a work dinner with colleagues, and ended up ordering most of the menu. Literally everything we had was fantastic, and the service was impeccable. Will happily be returning anytime I'm in the Louisville area. Basement bar and patio are great too!
This Neighborhood Gem in the heart of NULU impresses as the menu is adventurous and delicious. The ingredients are fresh and primarily sourced locally. Obviously, there is a real Chef in the kitchen who has a gift of combining interesting ingredients and flavors together, while still presenting comfort food that is lip smacking delicious. Foodies will love Decca and the charming neighborhood is an added bonus!
Our server was very good, some of the food was very good but some was not so just cant say I would recommend. Not on my list to go back.
We love Decca and have always had amazing meals and a great experience. This visit was not the same.
The service was VERY slow. We sat down at 7:15 and ordered a cocktail that took over 1/2 hour to be served. We were finishing our meal at 10:15. Just too slow. Have never seen it like this.
We were there for a client dinner and everyone loved the menu selection, along with wine list!
We had an amazing dinner with excellent service. Would highly recommend the escarole salad and the corn chess pie. Phenomenal. And interesting. We also really appreciated the non alcoholic “cocktails”. Such a great idea.
Sublime presentation and creative blend of flavors. Chef=5🔸🔸🔸🔸🔸
We were visiting from out of town and had high expectations after reading rave reviews. My partner loved the mussels, I had the risotto and it was mediocre and came out luke warm. The chicken was cooked really well, as was the salmon. Service was slow. Very expensive dinner $166 for 2 given the quality of food. Ambience and atmosphere was spot on though. Would come back for drinks.
