I absolutely love this place! All of the staff is extremely friendly and the food we ate was delicious. They have an incredibly welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. Plus, it has an amazing Happy Hour until 7 pm.
We have eaten at Decadence numerous times and every time has been wonderful!!
The decor is stunning, the service great and the food fabulous!
Choose this restaurant on a whim and I was pleasantly surprised. Great staff, great food, good variety for the whole family.
Wonderful menu with multiple choices. The dumplings are outstanding. The staff was very attentive.
Decadence is amazing! It’s like a grown-up place of Hermosa beach! Super sexy and sophisticated but also has a very cool beach five. A must when you’re in Hermosa beach! And bonus… The food is incredible! Highly recommend the short ribs!
The food was not good. A melon salad was a few pieces of watermelon, and cantaloupe distributed on plate. The crab cake was deep fried and over done, came out dark brown. The only thing that tasted good was the dumplings, but seemed like Trader Joe’s Not a top restaurant.
We LOVED this place! Fabulous EVERYTHING! You MUST go - we’ve told everyone we know to get there.
Food, amazing. Decor, beautiful. Staff, very friendly, but also very slow. Music, meh. Overall, we had a good time and will go back. Owner was very gracious.
We went for the first time on Valentine's Day and it was nice they had their regular menu rather than a Prix Fix. Everything we ordered was excellent: Baked Rainbow Trout stuffed with fennel and citrus, Short Ribs over polenta, Baby Beet Salad, Pan Roasted Wild Mushrooms with truffled pecorino cheese. The preparations were inspired. Not your everyday steak and seafood.
I was a little worried it would be cramped and noisy but it was fine even though it filled up for Valentine's Day. Our new favorite place for a delicious night out.
I like this place but every time we have gone (7:30) to dinner here ,it’s empty . Food is always great , staff is good , I think it might be the menu $$$$$$, a bit over priced .
We had reservations at 8:45. They didn’t bring our appetizers out until 9:45. The waitress checked on us twice in that hour. Then told us that the kitchen was backed up at least another hour. We didn’t understand why as the restaurant was empty. Terrible service. We left and ate next door within 15 minutes of sitting down.
New Year’s Eve dinner. To say the restaurant was understaffed is an understatement. There was no host or hostess to welcome guests or check-in those with reservations which we had. Not very busy but still took 8 mins for a seat.
The staff was pleasant but one could tell they were overwhelmed even though the place was maybe at 50% capacity.
Two drinks came in a somewhat reasonable amount of time but were not the best tasting for two signature drinks.
The food was underwhelming which was a little disappointing considering we waited an hour just for the appetizer, a bowl of fries. Then another half hour + for the food... steak was okay and the scallops a little salty. Took an additional 30+ minutes for my second drink to arrive but thankfully the server removed it from the bill.
I hope others will have a better experience but I doubt we’ll be back!
Food was good but eclectic menu makes it hard to figure out what it is trying to be - and there was nothing earth shattering about any of the dishes. Limited menu to start with and one item (the fish) was not available our night making it hard to find something for a non-meat eater in the main courses. Very loud even though there were very few people there - acoustics with high ceilings and contemporary decor echos. Drinks were good and they do have a full bar which is nice. Service was also good (considering we were one of only 8 people there we got undivided attention) but not sure we would recommend or come back here unless they add to the menu or we have a large group.
While the noise level was moderate, the restaurant was not full. It may be on the loud side if the restaurant has more customers. Overall, the food was outstanding. I had the duck breast and it was delicious! Service was nice and not pushy. The restaurant is becoming one of my favorites!
Very good French inspired meals and nice selection of wines and cocktails. We went on a Sunday night which was particularly slow for the restaurant - very attentive staff (as a result). We began with the Hamachi Crudo and Garden Salad and then moved on to the Sea Bass and New York strip. Paired all with a bottle of Cremant de Bourgogne Brut Rose.
Wonderful, creative food. The restaurant was very elegant but fun. Our only minus would be that we were (except for one other couple), the only people there. I hope this restaurant stays in Hermosa though. The duck was great! Cute flower photo wall.
Food, service & ambience was outstanding! Great place for dining or happy hour.
Food was delicious. Service was great. It’s still new so it was very quiet. Only 4-5 other couples. We wanted to try the phó since the chef is Vietnamese, but they had an issue with the broth so it was not available. Other than that, there wasn’t as much Asian influence to the menu as I was expecting. My scallops had a soy reduction on the plate, but everything else seemed classically prepared. The polenta was wonderfully fluffy and creamy. The braised bacon had a lovely crust and mouse on the side. We will be back and interested to see what other seasonal items they add throughout the year.
The noise level is brutal even with only a few people there, Not recommended.
It was very slow during our dinner appointment, the food took a long time to come out and it wasn't fantastic for the price they're charging total meal without drinks was close to $150 including dessert. The desert wasn't spectacular either I would give it 3.5 stars only
Food was absolutely delicious!! We ordered four different appetizers, cocktails, wine and dessert. All were on point and the drink pairings perfect. The waiter was attentive yet not overbearing. The decor and ambiance is lush yet comfortable. The perfect night to catch up with a friend. We highly recommend and will be back!
Food and service were amazing, would definitely go back and recommend. I took one star off for VERY slow plates. We came for dine LA and they have a 4 course prefix menu. An hour and a half in we had not even received our main course. We came early so not sure what the issue was.
This review is from our dineLA experience. It was an amazing value for 4 courses. Our favorites for each of the 4 courses were: 1) Beet Burrata Salad, 2) Hamachi Crudo which should never be missed, 3) Prime NY strip in a Mushroom Butter Bordelaise sauce, and 4) Chocoalte Ganache for dessert. Plus it included a glass of wine! All in all a thoroughly enjoyable evening. We were made to feel welcome and look forward to our next visit to try some of the other interesting menu items.
We arrived on time for our reservation and was brought to a table at the bar. After telling them a bar top wasn't acceptable, they found us a table and for the trouble offered a bottle of water, sparkling or flat. We shared three items, two were good but nothing special. The bacon dish was really great, the high point of the meal. Restaurant is overly loud. Paid the bill and was about to leave, when, just to be sure I checked the bill. I mean there's no way they charged me for that flat water right....... $7. Yeah, their reservation screw-up cost me $7+tip.
We found a piece of metal wire in our fries. The server didn’t care and threw it out the window.
Food was delicious but the wait for food was incredibly long
Birthday get toegether.
We loved our time at Decadence. Our server was Paula who was fantastic. She was attentive without being overly so, explained each dish as it arrived. Food was presently very nicely and tasted wonderful. We were there for the Dine LA Restaurant week so the price was fantastic for all the courses and included a glass of wine or beer. We had a special request and the manager accommodated us! We will definitely return. The noise level is a bit high for our taste but that was the only negative. There should be more people here. I'm not sure why it isn't jam packed! I hope the best for this restaurant. Its excellent!
Very beautiful inside and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. A couple small things that need work: There were only 2 tables of two people each, so the service should have been exceptional. Then a large party came in after we had been seated. The waitress got our order in before the large party, but had to wait quite awhile for our main dish. We had Tempura Avocado appetizer with chili aioili (which was very spicy). Then we ordered the Beet Burrata Salad - which was AMAZING, but they did not give us new plates after the appetizer and didn't clear the table of the appetizer dishes. This would not normally bother me, but for this caliber of restaurant ($$$), they should have done so. Lastly, we had the Sea Bass, which was recommended by our waitress. It was also very good. We also ordered drinks from the cocktail menu - which had no prices (which I thought was strange). Drinks were about $15/piece. It was an expensive dinner and not quite the service I would have expected, but it is new and should do well in the location. Just some minor changes would make this place fabulous!
We loved the decor. Food & service was very good. Drink prices were outrageous, $16 for a vodka martini & $14 for vodka on the rocks is unacceptable. We had the exact same drinks at another HB restaurant before we went to Decadence for $9 each. I had the duck, which was delicious, but at $36 you only get two slices of the duck breast, not worth the price. We will probably come back to eat, but not for drinks.
We an amazing surprise - we loved this place and will go back again! Excellent food & service. Perfect for our girls night out.
Everything was phenomenal. The service. The food. The atmosphere.
Great presentation and chef had incredible combos of flavors.
Food was delish!! And the service was impeccable. Will definitely go back!
Every item we ordered was delicious and nicely presented. Very nice wine list and top notch drinks from bartender Matty. Excellent service and attention from all staff members. Will definitely go back.
Food was average but the service was top notch !
The only issue is the back door goes into a hallway next to a bar so people sit out there and smoke. You could smell smoke during the diner s few times.
The wine list is amazing, the food is delicious, and the vibe is great. I’ve been here a couple times, once at the bar and once at a table. Both times were great. My girlfriend has a diary allergy and the bartender was super helpful with picking a meal. I like this place because it was just what Hermosa was missing.
This was our first time dining with you, food and service where excellent !! We will be back soon
Scallops are amazing! Great idea!
